As soon as Nixie signed off, she turned in her computer chair and her eyes roamed her apartment. Nixie was a very neat person and even though to most people, her apartment wouldn't have seemed dirty to them, to miss Nixalynn Lyrica Knight, it looked terrible. Jumping to her feet and in full motion, she set about cleaning up her already clean apartment. She straightened up the living room, vacuumed and then headed to the kitchen. Washing the few dishes in the sink and cleaning off the counter's. Then she swept the floor.

After that she looked down at her clothing. Nothing too shabby, honestly. Turquoise colored shirt, black skirt, black tights. She laughed at the hole in the foot of them as she wiggled her toes. These were her favorite tights and she was surprised to find there was only one hole in them. Making her way slowly to her bedroom, she looked it over. Not that Coal would be in her bedroom but it was nice and clean and neat, as she always kept it. Nixie hated clutter. Going to her makeup table, she touched up her make up and then she headed back to the living room.

Looking at the time, she sighed a little and collapsed onto her couch. Why she just did all that simply because of Coal coming over was beyond her. They'd been friends forever, he'd seen her in worse shape. He'd probably seen her house in worse shape, too. in all actuality, he'd probably seen a little more than Nixie had wanted him to see. But back then, he was all she had. He was still all she had.

One of these days

Coal hadn't wasted any time after telling Nixie he'd be at her apartment bearing the gift of chinese food. Except, of course, for the few minutes he had to take to actually put on some clothes. Leaving the house in his boxers wouldn't bother him at all, but the rest of the world might be a little . . . uneasy. He wished the rest of the world cared less about clothes. There was a time when he was a teenager that he had considered joining a nudist colony but figured it probably wasn't the best choice. Pulling an old and worn out Alkaline Trio hoodie on over his plain black t-shirt, he took inventory of the belongings the his pocket of his leather pants and left his apartment.

Waiting the lobby of the chinese restaurant, Coal listened to the droning hum or the people inside talking as they ate. The clinking of forks on plates, the chinking of ice against cups. It was all a low and somewhat soothing sound. The delicious smell wafting through the air made his stomach growl, and he started to get impatient. Finally, a brown paper bag was set on the counter with his order and it was time for the torturous drive with the smell taking over his car. He wasn't sure he was going to be able to make the drive to Nixie's place without eating everything he had ordered.

The drive had felt longer than it really was, just out of the anticipation to eat. But, luckily, it wasn't too long before he was at Nixie's door. He opened it, holding the bag of enticing chinese, "I've got a delivery for a Nixie Knight. And he comes bearing food!" Walking into her apartment was always kinda funny for him. It was always perfectly clean, especially in comparison to his own apartment. Sometimes he liked to torment her a little, by leaving a small mess and watching her fuss over it. Grinning, he walked in and sat next to her. "You're lucky I didn't eat it all. I hate driving with food in my car, it's horrible." He shook his head and sighed. "Moving on! Chicken fried rice and egg rolls, right?"

Nixie hadn't been sitting on the couch for very long when her apartment door swung open and in walked Coal. His piercing blue eyes roamed Nixie's apartment, probably taking in the fact that her apartment was so perfectly clean. Coal had this habit of driving Nixie nuts be leaving messes and then watching, and laughing, as she fussed over it. He was so easy to drive her nuts most of the time but you really couldn't stay mad at him for long. One look from him and Nixie would smile and it would all have been forgotten. as if it never happened.

She laughed at his words, leaning over slightly as she giggled, "I want the food... I have no desire for the other delivery... Take it back." She looked somewhat serious at first but she grinned at him as he took a seat next to her. She could already smell the food and it only made her ten times hungrier than she already was. "I would have kicked your ass all the way back to the chinese place and made you buy more.." She stuck her tongue out at him momentarily.

Biting her lip as she watched him, she nodded in response to his last statement, "Yesss!" Running a hand through her hair, she stood to her feet. "What would you like to drink?" She danced excitedly as she stood there, she was so hungry she could practically taste the food in her mouth.

One of these days

Tormenting and harassing Nixie were Coal's favorite activities. He never did too much harm but that didn't stop her from getting mad at him every now and again. Of course, all he had to do was give her a small, innocent smile and everything was forgiven. He didn't want her to be mad at him but it was usually worth it. He thought she was cute when he was harassing her or she fussed over something so he just couldn't help himself. that's not something she knew, and it wasn't something he was going to tell her anytime soon.

He gasped and pouted. "Oh, I see how it is." He held the bag away from him and took a deep inhale of it, "I guess I'll just have to go home and eat all this by myself then." He stood up, acting like he was going to walk out. He knew she didn't mean it and he definitely wasn't offended but that didn't mean he couldn't act like he was. "I know you would've," he said with a snicker, not at all doubting what she said.

He walked back to the couch and sat back down, putting the bag on the coffee table and pulling out the carton of food out. He laughed at her excited dancing as she anticipated the food. "Water's fine. You can just sit down and eat and I'll get the drinks if you want. I mean, I think you're hungrier than I am."

Nixie watched him as he reacted to what she'd said. She watched as he held the bag away from him and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the chinese food. When he stood to his feet, Nixie reached for him arm but fell over onto the couch when she missed. "Hey!" She pouted, "Come back here with that. You know i was only kidding." She continued to pout, looking up at him. Nixie's eyes washed over him before resting on his face and she looked like a puppy, "Please don't leave with my food. I'm starving.."

When he sat back down, Nixie grinned up at him. When he commented about her kicking his ass all the way back to the Chinese place, saying he knew she would have, nixie grinned. "Damn straight" Coal knew her all too well. She didn't play about food, and her apartment being clean. And Coal liked to mess with her about both things. She was short and thin but she ate all the time and never gained any weight, which of course she had no problem with.

Nodding as he said water was fine but then he told her she could sit and he'd get the drinks if she wanted him to since she was obliviously more hungry than he was, Nixie grinned, "Please and thank you, Coaly..." She grinned and winked at him before collapsing onto the couch, getting her food and starting to eat. Her eyes washed over Coal as he stood to leave the room.

Coal laughed at her pouting. She was too cute. And even if he'd actually been offended or upset by her comment, he would've forgiven her just for the face she was making. "You're only saying that cause I have the food," he said, sticking his tongue out. "But I guess I'd better feed you instead of letting you die." He shrugged, snickering and walked back over to her. He would've continued act like a jerk and and like he was going to leave but he figured he was gonna be at Nixie's apartment for a while and he had plenty of time to harass her.
