In 2024, the wizarding world is slowly feeling the stirs of dissidence again. Extreme turmoil is not yet present, but tensions are rising and allegiances are beginning to form. These groups represent the different ideologies that are beginning to spread to the minds of witches and wizards. Allegiance "buttons" will be distributed to be placed in character signatures - announce your character's allegiance(s) in the Claims forum. Students are not expected to have necessarily chosen their allegiance yet, but as they begin to enter the adult world, we ask that characters state their side

<center>HOGWARTS</center><p>
During and since the long, cherished reign of Albus Dumbledore as Headmaster of Hogwarts, Hogwarts has been a safe haven for knowledge and freedom. The staff of Hogwarts, including the current Headmaster, remain neutral in the coming fight in the sense that no allegiance is pledged. There is an emphasis on the greater good for humanity in an attempt to maintain peace and safety.

<center>THE PHANTOMS</center><p>
A mysterious, malicious group, the Phantoms thrive on new members and bringing the unsuspecting into their ranks, often times blackmailing these new members. The Phantoms - a name given to the group through a Daily Prophet article written in 2023 - is a relatively new society that exists outside the realm of the average wizards knowledge. The Phantoms aim to achieve power using their magic, not minding if they crush wizarding or muggle communities. This group seeks out all secrets in the magical world, looking for long-forgotten tools and secrets to achieve power. IMPORTANT: Students RARELY are able to claim their allegiance with this group. Some seventh years might be lured in, but this is also rare.

<center>THE MINISTRY</center><p>
As always, the British Ministry of Magic finds itself dealing with problems at the expense of the western European wizarding world. The Ministry, of course, wants to remain in control and has interest in the potential of various ancient, mystical artifacts. There is a high anti-crime emphasis and an interest in pursuing peace with muggles. However, the Ministry still maintains some iffy policies about vampires and werewolves and thus is not supported by all groups. The Ministry, ultimately, has good intentions.

<center>INDEPENDENTS</center><p>
You know those people who are too stubborn to even claim neutrality? The people who say they only live for themselves? Yeah, those are the independents. These are the people who don't give a shit about being in a faction, publicly declaring allegiances, or are just too damn smart and secretive to be lured into something. Independents usually don't work for the Ministry or Hogwarts, don't have anything juicy enough for the Phantoms to blackmail them (or are just too stealthy to be caught), and definitely have no desire in "justice" like the Ladies Macbeth. Usually they "claim" allegiance to just themselves or possibly to their family - parents, spouse, or children.
