Blair walked into Abercrombie and Fitch. A New York store. It's not like Blair had anything against Abercrombie - it was actually one of her favorite stores - but it was a store that was made in New York. It just bothered Blair. There wasn't really a reason. But she really missed having Hollister come from her California. It wasn't the same. But Blair felt like Abercrombie today, so she couldn't really complain. Blair made her way throughout the isles of perfectly lined up, color-coded shirts. This was one of the things Blair liked about Abercrombie. Not only did it have amazingly cute clothes, but the stores were always in perfect condition. So, when you were in a rush or something, you could just pick up what you were looking for, pay, and go. Easy! Blair admired the piles of folded clothes on the dark brown tables, picking out some sweaters, sweatpants, and any other kinds of clothing she liked. Blair suddenly had an armful of clothing in her arms; she wasn't even halfway through the store yet. It was a good thing that Blair was rich and could afford all of these expensive clothes. Blair went into the fitting room, stripped down into her bra and underwear and tried on all of her new clothes. 2/3's of them looked amazing on Blair so the rest she had left, Blair left them in the fitting room. Someone could get them sometime else. Blair looked around through the rest of the store, going through the routine of in and out, in and out of the dressing room. Blair saw many people she recognized from her school here, but none she knew personally. Blair started looking through the store a second time. She liked to admire every different piece of clothing. That was just Blair.

Well Katherine had just walked into Abercrombie and Fitch. It was a store she had always shopped in. No one had ever really cared how popular she was, just what kind of clothes she wore. All of a sudden she spotted Blair Nelson from school. She and Blair knew each other, but didn't talk much. Blair was, well, popular. Katherine on the other hand wasn't. They spoke to each other sometimes and were okay friends. It was just that Blair knew a lot. Katherine didn't know half as much. What would Blair say if she spotted her? She didn't even want to consider some of the possibilities. Either Blair would be nice or ignore Katherine all together. Either of those sounded good. What if Blair criticized her choices? Then Katherine noticed that Blair was going into the dressing rooms. Hmm. Then Katherine thought of a brilliant plan. When Blair was in the dressing rooms, she would look at clothes. When Blair came out, she would go in. Then Katherine realized she had thought for too much time. Blair was coming out!! She couldn't go into the dressing rooms with no clothes! What was she going to do?

Blair walked out of the dressing rooms and started to put a couple of clothing items back on the racks. Blair glanced up, noticing a waft of perfume close to her. It smelled very good. She made a mental note to herself to look for it. She looked around to see who the person was who was wearing the perfume. Blair's eyes locked on Katherine, a girl from NYA. Wow. Blair didn't even realize Katherine shopped here. She must have good taste than. Blair walked over to the nervous looking girl. Maybe she was nervous because she didn't talk to Blair that much. Katherine and Blair never really talked. Sometimes they would have a few small conversations but Blair didn't feel like wasting her time with an outcast like Katherine. She didn't mean anything by it. That's just how Blair is. Blair stared at Katherine a little while longer and to break the tension, Blair said "Hey. So, what are you doing here?" Stupid question. Obvious answer. Shopping. Duh. Blair decided that maybe she'd give Katherine a try. Like, they wouldn't really be great friends, but at least Blair would gain another fan.

"Oh!Hi Blair. I like to shop here. It's a nice store. Actually, I've been shopping here since I was about thirteen. Soo...see anything you like. I already bought stuff. I'm just waiting for someone." Katherine replied. She was extremely nervous. She wondered if Blair could tell. The total truth was that she was waiting for someone. Cody. Cody has been Katherine's boyfriend since they were thirteen. They had known each other forever, though. Cody didn't go to NYA. He went to a public school. Katherine wondered what Blair would say if she met Cody. Wuld she flirt? Probably, but Cody only liked Katherine. Another thought came to Katherine's mind. Had Blair noticed her perfume? She had just bought it. Could Blair have a side that would speak to outcasts like Katherine? Katherine didn't get to finish that thought because Blair interupted her...

Blair could tell that Katherine was nervous talking to her. She just kept blabbing on about the weirdest stuff. Blair decided to just nod her head and go along with it. Blair gave Katherine another look over. She wasn't that bad looking. Maybe... no. She could never be in Blair's circle of friends. Blair wondered who Katherine was waiting for and as usual, Blair decided to be nosy. "So, who are you waiting for?" Blair asked. Probably one of her weird friends. Blair actually couldn't even believe she was talking to Katherine. Seriously, do popular people ever talk to unpopular people? Again, obvious answer. No. Never in the history of popular people. But Blair was interested about the answer to her question so she decided to stick around for the answer.

Blair rolled her eyes at Katherine's childish behavior. Like, why would she ever make up a boyfriend just to sound hot? It was only Blair. Blair wouldn't tell anyone that Katherine doesn't have a boyfriend. Although everyone knew it. Like, why would he not go to NYA? It's not just a coincidence. Poor Katherine. So self conscience. But Blair could help her out. If she wanted to. But she didn't want too. And besides, Katherine could not have a boyfriend and Blair not. That was impossible. "Oh. You're boyfriend is coming here. Are you sure he's not just a boyfriend? You know? A guy friend. A friend boy, that kinda stuff." Blair said. She was trying to play along but couldn't help herself. Like, Blair could not be humiliated in public about not having a boyfriend and Katherine having one. That was just a... no-no.

Just then Cody walked in. "Oh, hey Cody." Katherine said. "Hey baby. Who's this?" Cody asked. "This is Blair from NYA. Blair this is Cody." Katherine exclaimed. Than Katherine leaned up to kiss Cody. Cody kissed her back. Katherine thought, "Wow Blair must feel sooo stupid." Katherine couldn't wait to see what Blair had to say next. "Cody, will you give us a minute?" asked Katherine. "Sure...anything you want baby." Cody replied.

Blair's mouth hung open at the overly confident Katherine, staring back at Blair looking pleased. But it wasn't time for Blair to crack now and look like a total idiot in front Katherine's "boyfriend", Cody. Blair actualy considered thinking it was all a set up and there really was no Cody. Yup. She could go with that. "Oh, hi Cody. You must be Katherine's boyfriend. Hm. That's pretty cool. How long have you guys been together?" Blair asked, trying to make it look likes she didn't care. But of course she cared! She was just proven wrong. That never, repeat, never happens to Blair. It was a once in a lifetime thing. Blair continued to stare down Katherine, looking at Cody once in a while. They looked like a couple. No. Blair couldn't think like that. Like, she didn't even have a boyfriend. So, that officially means Katherine can't have a boyfriend. This just wasn't right!

"Well, we've been together for three years." replied Cody. He wanted to give Katherine some space because he sensed some tension between Katherine and Blair. "I'll wait across the street."Cody added. "Thanks babe." called Katherine. "So, Blair. I couldn't help but notice that your mouth was hanging open. You might want to close it." Katherine said politley. Was it her fault if Blair acted the way she acted because she hated being outshone? No it wasn't and Katherine knew that. Blair just couldn't take the fact that Katherine, the girl in the okay crowd, had a boyfriend and Blair, one of the most popular girls in school, didn't. Katherine couldn't help but smile at that. In a way, she liked outdoing Blair. In another way, it made Katherine fear for her life.

Blair quickly closed her mouth at Katherine's smart-alic statement. Blair actually felt offended when Katherine said it. Maybe no boys were good enough for Blair. And Katherine was just so desperate she would go with anyone. Yup. Blair would go with that. Blair replied back to Katherine saying, "Excuse me? Did you actually just say that to my face. I know that you might be overly-confident with yourself right now but I wouldn't get to cocky. Just consider this a little warning. I'm nice enough to not make you look like a b***h in front of your boyfriend because I can make that happen. Just, try to stay out of my way from now on. You'll have to proove it to me that he's your boyfriend. Can you do that? No. You can't. Mmmmkay?" And with that, Blair turned away from Katherine with a toss of her hair and kept searching through the piles of endless clothes.

"Ummm. Yeah I don't know if I should tell you everything to prove it. That's where it gets kind of personal. You know? But, if you really want me to prove it..." replied Katherine. Katherine really didn't want to tell Blair about how... how... how intimate she and Cody were. It probably wasn't the best idea. Especially now, with all that was surrounding the two of them at home. Cody would get mad if Katherine did anyway. He didn't want people, even close friends, to know what was going on. No. Katherine wouldn't tell Blair. She couldn't. Ughh!!!!

"Of course I know. But I don't think you know," Blair told Katherine in a calm manner. The fact was, Blair did know what Katherine was talking about, but Blair hadn't actually gotten to that experience yet. But really, no one would believe Katherine if she actually told them she had sex with Cody. No one even knows who Cody is. They would just think like Blair. That Katherine really doesn't have a boyfriend and it's all a set-up to make people feel bad. But it will be backfired on her. Blair knew a plan that would make absolutely everyone in history hate her. Her as in Katherine. Oh. This is when the rumors start to kick in. Blair really needed Alyson to make this plan full-proof but she hadn't seen Alyson since a couple of days ago in the courtyard. She's probably just been pretty busy. But now Blair knew how she could backfire Katherine's plan. It would be perfect. Now, Blair just had to start it out. "Okay. I really hate to say this but... I believe you about you-know-what. So, just forget about the other stuff I said,"Blair lied cooly. More than thirteen years of acting can do a girl good. "So, I guess Cody can come back in now. There's really not much else to discuss. So evil. Blair couldn't wait to start the rumor about Katherine. It will be perfect. Forget the rumor about Melody. This one will be one hundred times better than the "Melody Rumor." Now, all she needed was to find Aly!

"I know you don't believe me and I know you're lying. Please just listen! I would soo tell you but we kinda have a problem with that...or I have a problem with that, and I don't want evrybody to know untill they either figure it out or I choose to tell them. Please Blair! I know you don't ike me, and I know you like to gossip, but could you please not do that to me!?!" pleaded Katherine in a calm voice. She ws sure that Blair could hear the emotions in Katherine's voice. Which, at the time, happened to be despair, anger, and annoyance. Mostly despair, though. Katherine was also sure that Blair could guess what was wrong with telling people about her and Cody. She was positive that Blair was smart enough to figure it out from the way it was worded. Ughhh! Had Katherine really just said that. Or maybe implid would be a better word. Great if Blair had, or could, figured it out, Cody would e beyond pissed. Maybe if Katherine could act like Blair, she could get into their group and make sure Blair kept her mouth shut. Katherine couldn't let Blair do that. She wouldn't. Everybody suspected Alyssa was...never mind. Katherine couldn't even finish that thought. It would be horrible if people knew...or if they found out from Blair!

Blair could barely comprehend Katherine's words. How could she have figured it out so fast? Oh yeah. Because Katherine was an amazing student. Right. But Blair wasn't about to break anytime soon. "Huh? What do you mean you know I'm lying? I'm not lying. I swear, Katherine." Blair told Katherine, a pure look of pleading on her face. Blair was happy she was such a good actress. She could get away with loads of stuff. "But I do confess. I haven't really had you-know-what. But I believe you that you have. It really looks like you and Cody love each other. But really, other than that. There were no lies involved. I promise." In Blair's head, she was smiling like she just won an Oscar award. Some people knew Blair started most of the rumors, but most people were totally oblivious to the fact. That's how good Blair was. But it looked as if Katherine was one of those people who knew Blair for her lies. This was gonna be tougher than she thought. But Blair kept her act up. She didn't need Katherine to even believe her. It would help, but it wasn't necessary. She just needed Cody to believe her and the games would begin. And even if Katherine does tell Cody about Blair's little scheme, Blair would just convince him otherwise. It would all work out. Let's just see how these next few minutes go.
