at the risk of sounding cliché, life did not deal ramona cartwright a good hand. she learned self-reliance early, due to the fact that her father was dependent on alcohol for years before she came along and ramona's mother had been dabbling in drugs since she was fourteen. ramona was a by-product of their extremely rocky relationship. since neither parent was overly concerned with her, she took care of herself... which would have been enough on its own if not for her stupid power. from a young age, whenever ramona got upset, it was like the weather would mimic her emotions. or the air, at least. she'd be walking home, upset about a bad mark or an offhand comment about the state of her clothes, and the wind would pick up immediately. it took her years to learn to control it. hiding it from her parents was easy, but hiding it from people closer to her made her feel guilty. like mikah. she felt guilty for so long for not telling mikah. mikah hendrix had become her best friend fast. they were certainly an odd pair - her, with her parents who blew any spare money they earned on alcohol or drugs and him with his wealthy mother who was flying high in the world of fashion - but they worked. she spent many nights over at his house when she just couldn't face going back home. a little while after ramona's father started using his fists in drunken anger, mikah noticed the bruises she tried to hide and he and his mother took her in. she was sixteen and her life had hit a high note. however, the longer she stayed with mikah the more feelings she gained for him, and the more feelings she gained for him the more guilty she felt about keeping her secret. he finally got her to tell him when they were seventeen and she was shocked when he was fine with it, wanting to keep her secret for her. once ramona had spilled the truth about her power, the only secret she kept from him was how she really felt about him, which got harder and harder to do as he started modeling for his mother's company and thus spent less time with her. the amount of girls constantly hanging around him went way up and drove ramona crazy. she was jealous and hurt and felt like she was losing the one person who'd ever really cared about her. one day she stepped outside and got so worked up that she created a massive windstorm so strong it took down the house entirely. mik and his mother had both been inside, but only mikah survived. ramona, knowing mik would know exactly what had happened, fled new york as fast as she could. she'd killed someone. and not just anyone, either. amelia hendrix had been the closest thing she'd ever had to a parent. unsure of what to do, she bought a bus ticket to albany with the little money she had on her. she stayed where she could and picked up odd jobs whenever she could, using a fake name whenever possible. rarely did she stay in one place for an extended amount of time, but she could never afford to leave the state. ramona bounced around neighborhoods and found places to crash while earning enough money to get by on.

but three days ago, she came back to new york. ramona got sick of running from her past, so she hopped back on a bus after saving up for a few months and is ready to try to make amends before whatever happens happens. she wants to see mikah, even though she knows he has to despise her now, and if he wants to press charges or do whatever he will, she'll deal with it. ramona's gotten to a point where she doesn't care anymore. she's always been quiet and independent, but she's become emotionally detached. she shies away from social situations 99% of the time. ramona's been secretive and paranoid since she left, always running from the skeletons in her closet. she doesn't trust people period. she gets really attached to people once she does trust them, but ramona hasn't been close to anyone in yeeeaaars. ramona's soft-spoken and doesn't really voice her opinions that much. she's just very... aloof and sad and resigned. but she's determined to at least try to explain things to mikah, even though she's accepted the fact that he may never forgive her.

i don't think she'd have many friends tbh. she's never been outgoing and for years she came in school in dirty hand-me-downs so she was sort of a really good target for bullying for a while. she might have had some friends who were friends of mik but idkkk, it all really depends. she'll be polite but she doesn't get close to people easily. she might have a few enemies, people who picked on her and stuff. she gets protective of people she cares about too so yeah. as for lovers, she's only ever really had feelings for mikah but she'll have had one night stands... though they probably wouldn't have been in new york, lol. she's not really flirtatious either, so idk. i probably just made plotting really hard for you so i'm sorry! she's just really angsty and resigned rn with all this inner turmoil but it could make for interesting plots if you have ideas. so have fun! ;)
