Desires are numerous for Bellatrix. The desire to honor her family, the desire to get out of Hogwarts but her deepest greatest desire is to learn the dark arts. So many stories she's heard about that wonderful, entire lessons on defending against it. The sight she'd see in the Mirror of Erised. An older her wielding powerful magic. And an unknown person who she cares deeply for with real emotion. Perhaps that is her greatest, deepest desire. To be loved.

Bellatrix is a pale skinned girl with extraordinarily black, thick hair and coal black eyes. Her features are attractive yet incredibly dark with a small thin nose and high cheekbones. Her build is tall and slender and she carries herself with dignity and pride that seems to run throughout her entire family.
<p> Her hair is usually formed into some sort of up-do but on occasions is left down to hang about her face. She has a fondness for red lipstick and smoky eyes as far as makeup goes. When she smiles her teeth appear extremely white and well kept, and if looked upon in a certain light they can appear shark-like. Her hands are perhaps the most taken care of part of her body. Incredibly clean almost all the time and often painted in shades of red and black. Her clothing has a bit of a Gothic side to it including a variety of black shirts and lace like petticoats and skirts when not in uniform. Her formal wear is a scarlet lacy Victorian style dress.
To say that Bellatrix Black is slightly off color would be an understatement. That isn't to say she's insane just delusional and easily distracted. With this comes a short temper that often times would cause her to hurt any onlookers either verbally or physically. She seems to have a sadistic animal-like side to her and occasionally will snarl when upset. She has proven herself to be quite narcissistic and arrogant. Often she'll admire her nails or fix her hair in order to keep up a good appearance. She is quite manipulative and is extremely fond of strategy often showcased in Quidditch games. She is also considered a blood-purist harboring a deep hatred for anyone who isn't of pureblood and like most students of the Slytherin house displays such hatred quite often.
<p> Although she doesn't like to admit it she is capable of kindness at times and will not hesitate to help out her fellow pure-bloods should they be in need. She can come across as impatient at times and can often be seen twirling her wand out of boredom. During classes that she particularly doesn't like she usually ignores the teacher completely or skips class altogether. Bellatrix has shown a very dark side of her with a lot of interest in the dark arts even though she is warned continuously about the craft. It must be very powerful if she has to have an entire class on it.
<p> There isn't much else to say about Bellatrix. Overall she appears as a cruel person who only cares about herself. Although this isn't entirely true. She seems to care about her sisters very much and deep inside there is a sensitive insecure side to her that longs what others have. Real affection and emotions. A small part of her wishes to remove her facade and pursue her dreams. But the other part of her knows what her family would say to it, what her friends would say. Unfortunately that part is the dominant part. Bellatrix has built a shell about her while that kindred spirit always looks for a way out and sometimes it does.

Bellatrix was born into a respectable pureblood family as the first born and as such was molded into what her parents wanted her to become. Of course by their definition she'd be in Slytherin, where all the respectable witches and wizards came from. And of course she wouldn't tolerate impurity within family. No that would never do. She was never allowed to play outside for too long. At the age of four she began studying spells. Little by little her parents trimmed the edges off their little girl until finally she was to become what they had always wanted her to be. Now all she had left was to prove herself at Hogwarts.
<p>But then Narcissa was born. And soon all attention was turned towards her and off of Bellatrix. Outwardly she didn't mind but inside there was a pang of jealousy. Then that jealousy became bitterness. And that bitterness lead to a slow, gradual mental decline. No she did not blame her sister for her parents control. In fact she embraced her and they developed a bond. Her parents didn't seem to notice that each year after coming back from Hogwarts their little Bella seemed different. Soon Andromeda was born. Once again more jealousy was felt but this time it was shared by two very dark manipulative sisters. However, Andromeda didn't seem so enthusiastic about her family's ideals and worriedly Bellatrix tried to coax her into it.
<p> At school she was fine. Of course other than a little Slytherin mischief everynow and then she never got in trouble. At least that's what she told her parents. But really she becoming more bold by the second intrigued about the Dark Lord business. She had never actually seen him but she knew when she was gone at Hogwarts her parents were collaborating with him. She wanted to know more. They said he was well versed in the Dark Arts. Perhaps he could teach her. After all if her parents trusted him she should right? That thought was what fueled her through the rest of her years at Hogwarts until her seventh year. It was then that she was able to work with the Dark Lord. She liked to think she was his favorite. Unfortunately he seemed to decide that he would not teach her all the secrets of the Dark Arts to her just yet. That it was best to wait until after Hogwarts. Now Bellatrix eagerly waits and hopes. Her fondness for the Dark Lord grows slowly and she feels several pangs of jealousy when another female talks of him fondly. Perhaps it is nothing or is it something more? Has she fallen in love?

Bellatrix twirled her wand flamboyantly as she silently walked down the corridor. She began to hum darkly, a haunting tune that she couldn't quite remember the words of. Something about a witch and a vampire. She closed her eyes and sent an experimental blast with her wand that bounced off a suit of armor with a clang. The suit seemed to turn towards her indignantly but she ignored it. Nonverbal magic. She only knew a little but "in time" the Dark Lord was to teach her more. She giggled slightly as she thought about it. Thinking about the Dark Lord sent a tingle up her spine. She grinned flashing white teeth and resumed humming. The halls of the school were empty. As they should be. Everyone else was in class. She had decided to take a little break today. The others were supposed to go with her but they had complained that they were failing Defense Against the Dark Arts. Ironic actually. Perhaps that's the way the world worked. You learn something but you can't counteract what you've learned. Hadn't mum said something like that?
<p> She turned as she heard faint footsteps drawing nearer to her. She winced and hid behind a nearby statue. The statue glared at her but otherwise made no noise to shoo her away. She waited quietly as the person walked by and muttered a small thanks to the statue. As she drew away from it she thought she heard something that sounded like a raspberry. She spun around. Nothing. Perhaps it was her imagination. Or perhaps it was that bloody statue. She rolled her eyes and continued walking only to run straight into none other than a Hufflepuff prefect. Damn. She was in it for sure. The prefect was still recovering from the daze and without thinking she broke into a run.
<br>"You're gonna get it Black!"
He called out to her and she stopped and glared at him. "Shut your bloody pothole, mudblood! Before I do it for you!"
She called back and continued running. What was a prefect doing outta class anyway? She wondered. She sighed in relief as students began filing out of their classes and a wide smirk formed on her face. She had successfully skipped another class. She then proceeded to head to her next class but was pulled back harshly by the arm. She stumbled and grimaced. "Detention, Black. Four days. Perhaps you can clean the supplies closets. Ten points from Slytherin."
Bellatrix let out a moan and cursed under her breath.
