Date: HALLOWEEN!
Time: 6pm
Location: Jensen's House
Weather: Cool but Mild
Synopsis: Jensen is a doofus who forgets to cancel his tutoring appointment

THIS IS HALLOWEEN, EVERYBODY MAKE A SCENE, TRICK OR TREAT TILL THE NEIGHBORS DIE OF FRIGHT Tonight was going to be awesome. Jensen had spent all month and most of his allowance from the past three months to make his costume. He had to trade free tech support to one of the robotics club moms in exchange for free sewing. God knew Jensen didn't want to actually do any craft work himself. He'd end up wearing a garbage bag if he wasn't careful, and it'd probably have a giant hole in it or something equally embarrassing. But no, things looked ridiculously awesome. He had just finished his mask last night, putting some double sided tape to the inside so that it would fit his features snugly without an ugly elastic string.Of course there was still one major issue, that being the untamed mass that was called Jensen's hair. It was the correct color, but thanks to genetics it was difficult enough to maintain on a daily basis, never mind putting product in it. That was when having a sassy gay best friend made you sound sort of like a horrible human being, but came very much in handy. Jensen wasn't exactly sure what their plans were for the night, going to a party or just running around dressed like idiots. Either way, Jensen would be happy. He felt his confidence rocket as soon as he put that mask on. Which made no sense, in the sense that he was pretty much wearing just a skin tight suit. But Jensen was confident enough in himself, and Kellan's ability to make sure he looked nothing like himself so long as he continued wearing his mask. Which lead to the tedious process of hair straightening. It had taken a ridiculous amount of time. Almost three hours, he realized looking at the clock. He sighed, but ran a hand through what was now straight and gorgeous hair. HIS hair. He was a little jealous of himself, honestly. Pimped out like Nightwing, this was going to be the best Halloween yet. Thanks to all of his hard work and constant, vigilant planning Jensen had completely forgotten that today was in fact not just Halloween but also an ordinary Monday evening. He had been so swept up in the romance of the holiday he'd completely spaced out on the fact that he tutored on Mondays. He had seen most of his students in the school halls all ready, and they'd discussed their plans. Because of this slip up, Jensen hadn't remembered he forgot to tell a Miss Eden that he would be busy and unable to help her with her science homework tonight. All he was worried about was the fact that he might meet a cute girl dressed as a different less publicized superhero. Perhaps a Starfire, or a Raven from Teen Titans. And if that was the case, he needed to make sure that he didn't have bad breath or anything. It wasn't as though he could prepare himself to not act like an idiot. That was a natural state of being. word count: 0503. place: jenny's house tagged: kellan and eden wearing: nightwing outfit lyric: from nightmare before christmas. template: by lewis.@caution2.0 notes: notes, notes, notes...

she was looking
kinda dumb,

Kellan didn't know why he'd decided to do this. Honestly, Jenny got ideas sometimes, and Kellan went with them, even though they were strange as hell. His idea this year was Batman costumes. Kellan knew next to nothing about Batman, except that he would definitely do Liam Neesen if the opportunity ever arose, and he didn't quite know why. In any case, Kellan read up a bit, and, while hopelessly stuck, managed to see an episode of Community where Dean Pelton dressed up as Catwoman. Boom. Kellan was sold.

So here he was, with Jensen dressed as some sort of spandex-fetish stripper, dressed just as risque and frighteningly. See, this was why people thought they were dating. Kellan wished he could be a little less showy sometimes, but he was who he was. Conversely, Jensen would accept nothing but complete costume faithfulness to this Nightwing fellow. So they were stuck, readying their costumes for some sort of nebulous plan Jenny had. Kellan didn't mind. Jenny's plans were usually fun... of course, Jensen had no idea that Kellan had been busy fashioning a skin-tight gimp suit all week and was now stretching the rubber over his thin body. Jensen would probably have a heart attack when he saw him, looking very much like someone who'd hang around Brian Wilson in his spare time. He'd even mussed up his hair, making it spiked, sticking out of his cat-eared hood. He looked... kind of hot, with all the eyeliner and makeup and skin-tight suit.

Of course, Kellan have no way of knowing that there were people who'd never met him who might see him in a nearly pornographic outfit in Jensen's house. It would be fine if he was running around outside in a rubber suit, combat boots, fingerless gloves, and copious amounts of emo-boy makeup, though, because people expected this of him. Last year he was dressed as Lady Gaga. He looked just. Like. Her.

Before leaving the bathroom, Kellan took a picture of himself on his phone, in case he grew the balls to send it to Tom. Probably not. He pushed the door open, looking at Jensen, whose outfit was... amazing. How did he pull that one together?! "Well, doesn't someone look good," Kellan said, flirty, before smirking at Jensen. "No, you seriously look like... like what's his face."

So far, Eden liked science.

It was all new to her, all interesting--she'd had a lot of catching up to do, since her so-called education had ended before she'd even really begun to learn anything at all. She'd been doing homework over the summer, with encouragement from Zelda, and she'd gotten far. Further than most people expected her to get, anyways, but not quite far enough. She'd started school in September, like everyone else, but she needed extra help.

So far, Eden hadn't decided if she liked Jensen Rapace or not.

Almost none of that had to do with Jensen himself, he was just--a boy, a goy, and tended to try to relate science concepts to things that she'd never heard of. He tried really hard, and once in a while she almost felt bad for him, getting stuck with her as a study partner.

But he was weird.

She knocked on the front door to the Rapace household, adjusting the weight of her backpack. Backpacks were new to her too, but they were so handy--Zelda informed her, quite often, that most girls her age usually carried a purse, but, quite frankly, with the number of books she was expected to carry, she couldn't bring herself to care. And, besides that, the kinds of purses that Zelda picked out were...gaudy. She wasn't sure she could pull off being seen with one of them in public just yet. Maybe in a few years.

Smoothing down the front to her skirt, Eden twisted the ends of her hair through her fingers, waiting for Jensen or--someone to open the door. She was on time, there was no reason why he wasn't; she'd come to his house, after all.

Synopsis: Jensen is a doofus who forgets to cancel his tutoring appointment

THIS IS HALLOWEEN, EVERYBODY MAKE A SCENE, TRICK OR TREAT TILL THE NEIGHBORS DIE OF FRIGHT Jensen turned when he heard Kellan's voice. "Why thank you. And I'm Nightwing. Former Robin Dick Grayson, becoming a superhero in his own right," he told the other boy with a very matter-of-fact tone of voice. He was in love with nerd culture, and whilst Batman was not his favorite, some of the other costumes would be more difficult to manufacture with the strict time constraints he had. It was also difficult to find a male character with hair that was comparable to Jensen. He liked his wild, curly hair. He wasn't going to dye or cut it for one night out of the year. That was such a waste. After this little impromptu lesson, he heard a knock at the door. Who the hell could that be? Jensen ran his hands down his sides, making sure his costume lay flat. It didn't leave a hell of a lot to the imagination, but thank God Jensen wasn't terrible looking. Actually, thanks to what Kellan often called a rather terrible fashion sense it was difficult to tell exactly what Jensen's body looked like. He typically wore loose fitting jeans and an over sized hoodie to school in the colder months. It was easy to see that he was not overweight or anything of that sort in the warmer months, however he tended to dress rather conservatively regardless of weather situation. Not that it was difficult when you were a male, women had shirts that showed off cleavage and their back. It was generally frowned upon for men to dress so provocatively. All the same, he did not wear things that hugged his form, until the ability to be a superhero came up.He walked to the door and swung it open, curious if it was some small children just starting their trick or treating route. Jensen's mother decided not to buy any candy, knowing that she was not the sort to desire standing up every five minutes to hand it out. Jenny would be out with Kellan, obviously, and his little sister was going and spending the evening with her friends as well. Maybe the porch light was still on. Hopefully it was NOT kids, and instead there would be a flaming bag of poo or something waiting for him when he opened the door. He had no candy to hand out and would prefer the fecal matter to disappointed children's faces.Of course it was not. Jensen's eyes widened slightly at the sight of a very un-costumed Eden standing on his front porch, poo bag not in tow. Shit. He realized now that he had forgotten to call her, and felt like an absolute idiot. That was without the costume. "Heeeey... Eden," it was difficult to tell his full facial expression with having half of said face being covered by a black pleasther mask. However it was clear that the boy was more than a little embarrassed by his smile, reddening cheeks and body posture."I'm SO sorry... I forgot to tell you that since it was Halloween... I was, you know, planning on going out. Tonight." word count: 0503. place: jenny's house tagged: kellan and eden wearing: nightwing outfit lyric: from nightmare before christmas. template: by lewis.@caution2.0 notes: notes, notes, notes...

Kellan scoffed lightly at Jensen's explanation, moving back into the bathroom to adjust his collar. He didn't want to feel like he was choking anymore; Kellan didn't have a lot of experience with rubber gimp suits, and made it a little too tight. Apparently, Jenny was Nightwing, a former Robin and becoming a superhero in Gotham as well. Kellan rolled his eyes. "With that outfit, it looks more like he's trying to become every Gothamite girl's fantasy lover." Kellan wasn't above admitting when his best friend looked hot, and right now, his best friend looked hot. It was entirely the fault of the costume, though. Kellan probably looked like sex walking right now, too, but he had the feeling Jenny wouldn't tell him that.

A knock on the door interrupted whatever Jenny was doing outside. Kellan sighed. God, the trick or treating started earlier every year. He knew that neither of them had any candy to give, and the sun was just about to set. Hopefully they didn't have to turn any children away. Touching up his eyeliner, he heard Jensen open the door, and explain something to whoever was there. Well, Kellan didn't feel awkward about barging out of the bathroom, especially if it got some kids to leave poor Jenny alone.

He sauntered out of the bathroom, hands on his hips as he walked towards the doorway. He distinctly caught Jensen saying that he was planning on going out that night, and Kellan smirked a bit. He walked up to his best friend, ready to scare the shit out of those tiny little boogers who'd never seen a boy look like a girl before...

Until he realized there was a woman in the doorframe. A woman their age. And he was wearing rubber. Kellan's eyes widened, and he stared at Jensen awkwardly. Oh God. He probably liked this girl. This always happened. Kellan caused Jensen so many romantic problems, since he was so flamingly gay and Jensen was always a little too accepting of that. He covered his mouth, staring at the ground. He glanced at the girl, who he'd never seen in his life, eyeliner rimming his eyes popping. At least he was hot, Kellan thought before mentally chiding himself. What an assholish thing to think right now. His eyes eventually trailed to the ground, noting that this girl looked pretty and normal, the kind of girl Jensen might like.

Eden had thought that, all things considered, she was doing a fairly good job of adapting so far. It was a slow process, but not because she was stupid. She was just massively uniformed, and even six months was not enough time to catch up on every pop culture touchstone and trope in existence. To be fair, she'd spent a lot more of her time on trying to catch up on schoolwork. She knew what Halloween was, and that it was supposedly tonight.

What she didn't know, however, was what in the world Jensen was supposed to be when he answered the door.

Her eyes widened a little in surprise--he was dressed in something very tight and wearing a mask that didn't even make sense. There was something wrong with his hair too. And then he was stuttering out some excuse, that he had forgotten to call her, and that was just--great, perfect, she was really glad that she was memorable. She'd come all this way from her apartment for absolutely no reason.

Awesome.

She was flustered, to say the least, opening her mouth to say something--probably something sharp, that Jensen may or may not deserve, when she caught sight of someone else behind him--and then she flushed crimson, looking between the two of them before looking away, "What are you doing."

It was a rhetorical question, she didn't actually want to know. She'd been told that Halloween was a godless occasion--Zelda had done her best to convince her otherwise, had perhaps even made a little headway in that direction. After all, the idea of children getting candy from their neighbours was something Eden could get behind. But if it meant that children had to dress up like this, then she wanted no part in it whatsoever.

She hadn't even realized Kellan was a boy yet.

THIS IS HALLOWEEN, EVERYBODY MAKE A SCENE, TRICK OR TREAT TILL THE NEIGHBORS DIE OF FRIGHT "Yeeeeah," he spoke, still unable to meet Eden's gaze. "Kellan and I were gonna go out to a costume party... and... well, why we went with the less important Batman characters I don't really know." He hadn't been expecting Kellan to be cross dressing, but then again it wasn't really as though he much gave a damn. If the boy wanted to dress up like Selina Kyle that was certainly his choice. It wasn't really like he was the most conservatively dressed either. It was a damn good thing he had quite the body on him to pull it off, if Jenny had a fat ass he would just be screwed. And not in the good way. But the way Eden was looking at him he thought that perhaps he might be anyway. He certainly wasn't embarrassed about showing his nerdy side- that was just something that came naturally to the young man. But he was feeling unusually self-conscious. Not enough to change, but enough to be embarrassed about being seen dressed this way."Ummm..." he was looking for something to say or do to perhaps make it up to Eden. She had come all the way out here for tutoring and instead had to see two of the most awkward teenagers in the entire world dressed in extremely form-fitting outfits. That deserved at least SOMETHING, in his mind. "Why don't you come with us? It's a party for kids at our school... I know I have lots of things, we could get you suited up in a costume more suitable than 'normal girl' if you'd like," he gave her a sheepish smile and a bit of a shrug. He knew that Eden wasn't really one for flights of fancy. He often caught himself trying to use common turns of phrase or examples from modern society that the girl just didn't know or understand. And while slightly disheartening he certainly wasn't taking it personally, because it was not HIM that she didn't understand. But then again, the look she was giving him showed that she DIDN'T understand him. At all. And probably wouldn't at that. But hopefully she'd say yes, and things would be considerably less awkward between them. He wasn't sure that she knew who Kellan was. They were in two very different sorts of circles, and while he wasn't entirely sure Jensen figured that the only thing they probably had in common was that they both knew him. Well, if she said no he'd bring her a cookie or something tomorrow. And if not, he'd try to show her a good time in so far as what it was like to be around a slightly abnormal (however, extremely good looking, intelligent, witty and fun if he did say so himself) teenager in Washington, DC. He might even get her to loosen up a bit.
