Upon registration, YOU NEED TO VALIDATE YOUR ACCOUNT so the Admins can place you in the appropriate user group. You are sent a PM and/or e-mail by one of the admins asking you to state your name and Tomo-Kai status (applicant, member, alumnus/alumnae, or non-TK/friend of Tomo-Kai). You are also asked to introduce yourself in the Jikoshoukai Thread in the Hajimemashite! Forums.
There are six user groups in the UPTK Forums:
A] Kouhai or TK Applicant. Current semester’s applicant. His/her status will change depending on how his/her application period will turn out.
B] Sempai or TK Member. Current members of UP Tomo-Kai, including honorary members. Can view and post in the TK Tambayan Forum Category.
C] Dai Sempai or TK Alumni. A category for the members of UP Tomo-Kai who have graduated from UP Diliman. Can view and post in the TK Tambayan Forum Category.
D] TK no Tomodachi or Friend of Tomo-Kai. Non-TK person who shares the organization’s interest in the Japanese language and culture; anyone whose status is not applicable to the above categories; Japanese friends.
E] Moderators. The forum’s police who help enforce our guidelines.
F] Administrators. People you do not want to mess with.
Once your status is confirmed, your status is validated, and you are placed in the proper user group; now you are officially a member of the UPTK Forums.
Guests can only post in this forum category; in other forum categories, they can only read the discussion but are not allowed to post.
Validating members or those who have registered but have not been placed yet in a user group can already read, reply, start a topic, and upload images in the forums.
