Ok-I have been visiting HTR and Eklund for some time and I've seen only one scenario which interests me. Kaberle to LA for Brayden Schenn plus a first round draft pick in 2010.

Anything? Am I out to lunch? Is anyone out there still breathing?

Hmmm...sent out that mass email. Thought at least 3m might pop in. Hopefully he's just at the cottage and will join us soon.

I'm not sure if Kabs would bring that from LA. The Kings hardly seem ready to make a run for the cup. I doubt they would cough up Schenn and a potential early first rounder (perhaps even an off chance @ a top 3) for Kabs. And Schenn seems to be valued quite high by some folks.

We're going to have to find a team with a legit shot at a cup run or a team up against the cap (taking a heavier salary in return) to get a high value for Kaberle. He's a top 2 d-man on most teams and has a very modest salary. Potentially a poor team still trying to ice a playoff team on a limited budget might be interested as well.

Hearing an awful lot of buzz about a potential trade with Chicago for Patrick Sharp. That would give us a top six forward in exchange for a lesser d-man. Chicago is still desperate to shed salary and may have to part with a reasonable asset to do do.

You have to wonder, after that first round exit just what the hell is going on in San Jose. They have assets that are either uwilling or unable to play. I'm wondering just what is Thornton's problem! What does this guy need to ignite his promise. Could Wilson do this with more time? You'd think by now that they would dismantle and remake their team. (And put some assets that may be re-workable on the market +/- the salary cap concerns)

Hey guys. QS I never got the email you speak of...maybe no one else got it either. I'm OK with Burke's moves this off-season, even yesterdays trading of Strahlman. He was never going to fit here and we get a 2nd albiet in 2 years. Primeau can kill penalties & is another big body. We have very good team defense for a change. Hopefully the goaltending improves & if it does we'll be in a lot of low scoring games.

Still wouldn't mind parlaying Kabs for some offensive pop, but that's looking less likely with each passing day.

Sucks you didn't get it...might be something in your prefs...not sure.

Anyway, when you look at the line up, I think Burke has some work cut out for him, or we'll lose some guys during the waiver draft.

Forwards (in no Particular order)
Blake - Stajan - Hagman
Kulemin - Grabovski - Ponikarosvky
Wallin - Bozak - Tlusty
Primeau - Mitchell - Mayers
Orr - Hanson - Stempniak

Defense (in no Particular order)
Kaberle - Komisarek
Schenn - Beauchemin
White - Finger
Exelby - Van Ryn
Frogren

If the logical happens, and Burke turns one of the D into a forward or two (Kab, Van Ryn, White, Exelby, Finger, Frogen) then we're looking at a log jam at forward instead.

Hopefully, Burke can move some guys. I'm hoping Poni is gone (he's not very effective with limited minutes). Perhap package him and/or Stajan with a Dman for an upgraded Forward. Stempniak has no value, so I say give him another go this year. Hagman no longer has a NTC in effect.

Pretty much all our forwards are expendable, but perhaps they could be packaged to get something decent in return, or at least some picks. Blake's stock has to improved after last year, but I doubt many teams with the cap space would be interested.

I'm pretty sure I read that Finger has a 2way contract, so we can sit him in the minors if we need to clear some space.
