OK so I'm a cheerleader!
I am suffering the summer doldrums because I already miss the beloved losers of Toronto. Lets get the sh** flying by posting to this board! C'mon girls and guys lets hear what you think is coming our way this year! |

Wow! I thought the board was dead. There hasn't been a post in months. Gonna be a lot of losing this year, hopefully we show some hustle in doing so. The team sure looks different. Hopefully Mats signs with another team soon...I still have a fear he could come back & we don't need that. Lots of extra d-men & forwards so look for some deals. Wouldn't hurt to lose McCabe &/or Kubina too. Bring on Tavares.

We look bad enough to go for the bottom of the league. In fact, I'll be cheering for losses-we need the high draft picks to become a contender. The "new look" Leafs are set to become the NHL punching bag.
No wonder they're giving away a free game: I think they'll have to give a few more away before this team is through rebuilding. Makes me think that Burke won't come until next year when the smoke has cleared and the team is ready to start going for it. PS 3ML where is everyone else? Come on guys this was a great site and I miss the old days (Leafscooper's old site) when we spent countless posts agonizing over the managemental miscues. |

I don't know. Don't know if it was the disappointing year. The game chat was fairly popular, but the forum traffic just slowed to a trickle leading up to the trade deadline. Really, besides you & me, QS, leafslife and one or two others, there wasn't much chatter last year. Leafscooper & Big M stopped contributing. Not sure if we can rebuild it or not, I've lost contact with everyone myself. Maybe leading up to training camp we can send pm's out to everyone & see if we can kick start the thing again. |

Hey guys nice to see this site going again!! I think the Leafs will finish the season in a bout the same spot. I don’t think we will suck as bad as everyone says. We’ll be a young hungry team with speed and grit. It will be nice to see the team working their asses off.
I’m interested to see what Fletcher has up his sleeve. As of now we have too many defensemen. Also, I’m waiting to see what Fletchers “home run” is. I talk to LS once in awhile (He was a groomsmen at my wedding). I know he was swamped with work this past year. I’ll make sure to mention to him that the site is trying to get going again. |

Hey guys
Was thinking of posting a while back to see if anyone was coming here anymore. Be nice to get this kick started by pre-season. Overall, I'm 50-50 on the Leafs this year. It was nice to see them clear some baggage, but still quite a bit remains. They'll have to figure out the McCabe situation, as there seems to be quite the log jam at D. We've been cursed with under achieving teams this past few seasons, so I honestly don't see a huge difference in this year's potential. It should be a fun season to watch. Either we'll have a young hard working team that scraps for a mildly winning season, or we'll have a losing season and yet another high pick next draft. Best case, we're able to move McCabe for something for the future and have a young hard working team this year. Cheers! |

Looks to me like the old board is slowly rising from the grave!
We should be in fine shape by the first game. Only thing is, we have to be living for a year from now when we get our high first round draft choice and we finally become a respectable team versus a laughingstock. We all know what needs to happen this year. Schenn gets a year in the bigs under his belt Rookies who could not develop with Sundin/McCabe/Tucker et al sucking up major minutes per game will be given the opportunity to develop. The weeding out process will then commence Our new GM-Brian Burke will come in subsequent to the end of the playoffs. We will draft high next summer (hopefully #1 or #2) The 09-10 Leafs will then be a force to be reckoned with. |
