“Into this wild Abyss/ The womb of Nature, and perhaps her grave--/ Of neither sea, nor shore, nor air, nor fire,/ But all these in their pregnant causes mixed/ Confusedly, and which thus must ever fight,/ Unless the Almighty Maker them ordain/ His dark materials to create more worlds,--/ Into this wild Abyss the wary Fiend/ Stood on the brink of Hell and looked a while,/ Pondering his voyage; for no narrow frith/ He had to cross. ” ― John Milton, Paradise Lost

The Wastes

Once the epicenter of the city, the manufacturing district has taken a turn for the worse and all that is left there are abandoned warehouses, manufacturing plants and apartments that are cheap and run down. A few businesses continue to thrive, but they are mostly bars and corner stores.

Crossroads Cemetary and Mausoleum

The Crossroads Cemetary is the main resting place for the dead, taken care of quite well by the city to maintain appearances despite the fact that many demons rule over the city. The Mausoleum rests in the center of the large, lush grounds to which the church of St. Constantine donated a large statue of an angel which rests on the peak of the building, its hands and wings outstretched to the heavens.
