Tonight's ball was a success in many ways and in many ways it was not. Amelia, a woman that was close to my own heart, has betrayed me in the highest form of treason. Any woman or man in my Kingdom does not have the authority to speak ill against me and a woman regardless of how I may feel about her certainly does not. I knew that night when I sent her away that she was over stepping her bounds. Now I know this to be true. Tonight was the last night that would ever happen again. I plan on making an example of her tomorrow at her execution. There are no words for what she has done. I feel incredibly betrayed and broken. A woman I could have loved taken from me by her own actions. The candle is wearing thin and I must sleep tonight for dawn comes early on a day like tomorrow.
