Katherine smiled politely as she was introduced to the castle's farmers. They, along with their families all stood before Katherine as her guards introduced her to them since they had not been invited to the wedding. Although most everybody knew who Katherine was, Eric was ensuring that all of those who worked in the castle knew who she was so that later they could not claim to not realizing who she was if she requested something of them. Eric had offered to have all the castle workers brought to her in the throne room so that she would not have to go out into the cold but Katherine didn't want to take any more time away from their work then was necessary. So while Eric took care of whatever business he had to attend to, Katherine, with a small group of guards was moving from location to location so that the new queen could be presented to those who now served her.
Once Katherine had been introduced to the farmers, Katherine turned along with the guards and began to walk away from them. As they walked Katherine lightly brushed her fingers over her midsection and found her thoughts wandering to the night before. After the festivities she had retired to Eric's bedroom with him and the new queen had given her virginity to Eric who had released his seed into his new queen's womb. As Katherine walked she wondered if she now carried Eric's child within her. Had Eric's seed taken root and made her a mother on their wedding night? Katherine had no way of being certain and she knew that she was expected to join Eric in his bedchambers that night again. Katherine knew that until it had been determined that she carried the king's child she would be required to present herself to Eric every night.
Keeping her eyes focused straight ahead as she walked within her group of guards, Katherine's thoughts were still on the child that she could very well be carrying at that moment but as she gently brushed her fingers over her stomach yet again, Katherine was not paying attention to who they passed as she turned to one of the guards and asked: "Are we nearly done?"
