[dohtml]<div align=left style="width:450px; text-align:justify; font-family:times times new roman; letter-spacing:1px; font-size:11px; line-height:110%">Maris was as beautiful as the Prince had said it was. In the brief bits she had seen in her quest to the castle, she already loved the country in it's winter beauty. And no doubt it would be just as lovely in the spring when the snow began to melt and everything was green. She did so love the snow, but here in Maris is was less straight laced than it had been in King Eric's court.<p>

She castle was in view and she could not help but be excited for such. That meant she was one step closer to vacation, and one step closer to seeing the Prince again. She was surprising herself with how delighted she was to see him again. Her m0ther had been, of course, delighted at the prospect of Adrienne going to spend an extended period of time with the soon to be King of Maris. But her mother had always been a social climber, which was part of the reason Adrienne had been forced to leave her home.<p>

She had made sure to pack light, but that had been more for efficiency than anything. Of course she had packed her fair share of dresses, but she had also packed several pairs of breaches to ride in. Whether or not she brought those out was still up in the air. She would observe for a few days to see how such things would be taken here in this court. After all, she did not want to push her luck too soon.<p>

She moved her eyes back to the book in her lap, trying to distract herself from the distance still to go. But every part of her was tensed, delighted, anxious. Only a bit more precious time and she would be able to completely relax and be herself in the presence of someone who seemed to accept her, faults and all. But the trip had been long, and she had found it nearly impossible to sleep on the ship she had come in. It was comfortable, that was not the issue. It was more of the constant rocking of the ship, the constant reminder that she was not on dry land.<p>

Despite her anxiousness, it did not take her long to drift off. Curled up against the side of the carriage, her eyes lids slowly drifted downwards and she fell asleep. She was only awoken by the jerking of the carriage coming to a stop. She immediately sat up, closing her book hard and waiting anxiously for the door to be opened. <p><p></div>[/dohtml]

Vicktor hated to see his father in his current condition. He was weak and the way he kept talking about death wasn't suiting his father or his spirit. He knew that he had to listen to what his father said. There were things that he spoke about with the Kingdom and secrets that the family held that he knew nothing of until now. There were things about their treaties that no one else knew about and Vicktor even spoke about the Dominic break from the Homeland court as to whether they should help them or not. His father even thought that it was good idea. Often, the Maris Kingdom housed those seeking refuge from the storm of political tyrants and helped them get to safe lands. Now they would have a small foothold into those lands and could continue to help them. The lands that Dom was going to rule also were vast and would give a large number of an army to help support Maris if it were needed. There could come a time with the temper and foolish givings of the Homeland court, he knew that much.

As the carriage arrived he was told that the carriage was on its way by one of his men on horse that was waiting at the port who led the caravan towards the castle. He dressed in a long cloak made of the finest fur and silk. He headed down to the front of the castle, something he was proud of was that the castle was much larger than that of the Durante Castle and had been standing longer than the Homeland court as well. With a few men, he walked through the grounds and then out to the carriage. He opened the door, and held out his hand to her.

"My lady, I am glad to see you have made it in good time." The snow on the ground was lacing with a good few inches and the snow was starting to pick up.

[dohtml]<div align=left style="width:450px; text-align:justify; font-family:times times new roman; letter-spacing:1px; font-size:11px; line-height:110%">The moment the door was opened, Adrienne was on her feet and moving out of the carriage. She took the prince's hand without a second thought, moving out into the winter air. It was brisk, and delightful against her face, and the usually stony, courtly facade broke.
<p>
Starting slowly, the corners of her mouth turned up. Her lips parted to show two straight rows of ivory teeth until a broad smile lit up her face. Her eyes twinkled happily, her cheeks slowly becoming a rosy color from the cold of the air. The snow that was falling caught in her dark curls as she slowly turned her face away from the scenery to look at Vicktor. "Gods above...it's beautiful." She confessed, squeezing the hand that was still in hers.<p>

Smile never breaking, she spoke to Vicktor once more. "The only way I could have made better time was to have grown wings." She replied before bending down and grabbing a handful of light, fluffy snow in her hands. She then lifted her hand to her mouth and blew powdery icy crystals at the prince, laughing playfully as it flew at his neck and chest. She then dropped what was left in her hand and pulled on his hand.<p>

"Come, we should get inside before we get snowed out."<p><p></div>[/dohtml]

Prince Vicktor Hein - December 6, 2011 01:26 PM (GMT)
A slight chuckle came from his lips. While she was heaven sent, he was sure that she was no angel. It wasn't that she wasn't adequate or even deserving, it was that the way that she toyed with her words and challeneged him, he was sure that an angel was no in her dictionary. She was a devilish woman in his eyes as were most that sought after any crown and yet he liked spending time with her, he wasn't yet sucked into everything that was around him nor her. He was a careful man and while he would have to take a queen sooner rather than later with the way that his father's health was, he was no fool when it came to love. He loved but with his eyes wide open to the world around him. He wanted a just kingdom and he couldn't do that with his eyes shut. "Well so long as you are here now, is all that matters." He said with a smile.

He nodded again. "Yes, we should get inside before the weather picks up. I am afraid that the winter here is harsher than that of your home Kingdom and that of King Eric's Kingdom." He announced quite honestly. Still, he would never trade Maris for any other Kingdom in the world.

He held out his arm to her, and then escorted her into the castle. "Would you like to be shown to your chambers first to unpack and see as if everything is to your liking or would you rather a complete tour of the castle?" He questioned her. He knew that his castle was much larger than that of Carnelian.

Lady Adrienne de Marque - December 9, 2011 10:29 PM (GMT)
[dohtml]<div align=left style="width:450px; text-align:justify; font-family:times times new roman; letter-spacing:1px; font-size:11px; line-height:110%">As soon as his arm was offered, Adrienne laced her own through his, letting one hand rest on his forearm before the other came up to rest over it's twin. "Despite the harshness, it is far more lovely." Adrienne loved her home, and in her eyes nothing else would ever compare, but Havelock never slipped into a winter wonderland such as this one. <p>

Despite her desire to play in the snow, the warmth of the palace was welcome. She took a moment to glace around, marveling in the beauty and grace of it. It was much larger than the court she had grown up in, or even Eric's palace. And it was far more elaborate and ornate. She desired to see it all, but she feared that would take forever, and she desired to spend more time with the Prince than she desired to spend it exploring. However, she was a guest, and a lady, and had to act as such, even though every part of her desired to challenge the man now leading her to a snowball fight, but only after she had changed into breeches so she could move easier.<p>

"I am but a humble guest, your Highness." She replied, the broad smile still fixed on her features, her eyes glittering with a child like wonder. "I would do and act only as you instruct me to while I'm here." Well, perhaps that was not entirely true, but that was what she was expected to say. So that was what she would say, for now. She was sure the Prince would be able to see who she really was, playful and flirtatious and devious, all in good time.<p>

"Though, from what I have seen so far, your home and your homeland are very lovely. I thought I was a cultured woman, but in all my readings, I have never seen such beauty." The sincerity in her voice shocked even Adrienne. Usually every word she said was guarded, the truth or deception of the words never quite clear.<p><p></div>[/dohtml]
