The world of Tearron is unbalanced, her countryside ravaged by massive elemental storms that burn everything in the skies and rip up the earth, and feral creatures that roam the uncharted lands for blood. Her children the magi, who wield the power of the world, are broken and lost, and their children, the magic-less but gun-weilding schams, have risen to reign supreme, but have only created chaos.
The are only two known human settlements on Tearron: Briand--the industrial mega-city--and Aadita--a bohemian open air commune. Both are convinced the other will attack at any moment, and each have their own defenses. Briand has total control over their magi population, and have the massive guardwalls surrounding their city to act as a built in defense against enemies and the storms. Aadita has cunning, brute strength, and a very large grudge, as well as the savage cave lions at their backs.
The magi who are only trying to survive and overcome, meet on the rivers and lakes on a massive floating city of rafts. There they wait and regroup, trying to regain their strength, history, and dignity. Slowly but surely, they have restored their bond with Tearron, and she has been answering their calls...
And the ancient Men, thought lost to the elements and the magi's wrath forever, have survived the millennia by nomadic isolation.
Brought over from Earth to reset the balance are the Inspired, normal men and women who will unlock the true power within themselves and find out their real destiny on Tearron.
