It must be about time that we spiced up Tamaki abit and got a bit of student life happening. In my opinion Tamaki is relatively dead for three quarters of the day (or until a bus arrives). I think that it is time Tamaki got its own student pub where we can have a few cold ones in between lectures on a nice hot day.

This is something that the Tamaki Executive and the AUSA have investigated for many years. WE even have beer companies wanting to sponsor the building and setting up of such a place. Unfortunately the University doesn't consider that a bar is required on this campus and so proposals have been rejected.

It will be an ongoing project for Executives to come, I am sure

MMM beer!

Yes it definatly is about time. I think one of the biggest issues must be the relativly small size of the campus. As previously noted, 3/4 of the day on campus is dead! i.e. there is no one around, which in a business sence would be a black mark against the viability of such a venture. untill the campus reaches a population to support such a facility the best i think we should aim for would be more bbq's with beer, pub crawls, t.ton's etc. Most of all we need to get behind these events and make them a bigger success. Cummon BBIM'ers show them all what we're made of!! B)

What do you mean the campus is dead? You just have to look in the labs. And the b-ball court is almost always populated.

It is true that Tamaki has much less students than City campus, but I'm sure more courses will become available and more people will come to Tamaki.

A pub would be something to consider in the future. For now, its not really viable.

I agree with csew here. I definitely prefer the more whanau feel to the campus than what you get in the city. A pub would definitely enhance that 'feel' and hope something like that can be incorporated in the near future!

having a pub in tamaki campus is definitely something to consider, but I dont know if students in BBIM are drinkers. Only 3 students from BBIM first year competed in the tamaki ton and only 2 students joined the tamaki pub crawl. there are about 60 students doing first year BBIM dont know about the other years but i think this is something to consider before having a pub in tamaki.

Yea a pub would be great at Tamaki. But how many people wana drink and then go to lectures? or drive home drunk?
I think those are the reasons not many people signed up for Tamaki Ton etc. from BBIM.

But a pub would be great...go pub!

Yeh a pub at tamaki would b awesome but i cant see it pulling many customers at night considering the location, so if it probably wont happen i geuss everyone jus has to take up every other opportunity for a drink, like the tamaki ton and pub crawl.
