Welcome to Sunset Gold; a Semi-Canon, Dragonriders of Pern RP! (my, that's a mouthful!) Here, we are set in the Southern Continent, focusing mostly on non-canon Ashld Weyr and Saird Hold in the 7th Pass. Plot
as our story sets the stage
There are only two Junior Weyrwomen at Ashld Weyr, and both of them have a curse. At least, that is what is believed of those that Impress to any gold hatched from Syneth's clutches.
With Thread continuing to fall, a full Turn has gone by without the senior weyrwoman's Syneth Rising to mate. With Tsunade expected to retire at any time, and the two young golds yet to Rise themselves, it has become a race among the Bronzeriders to get their chosen queen to rise first--and to be caught by their bronze--before the curse raises its ugly head and kills off either one or both of the potential weyrwomen.
Environment
whether sun shines or rain falls
It is the dry season at Ashld and Turnover is just around the corner. The days become longer as the solstice approaches, and are filled with warmth and sunshine. The occassional lightning storm will form over the ocean, though the torrential rains of the monsoon season are far from the thoughts of the Weyr and Hold's occupants. People enjoy the sunshine and celebrations while they last.
