James was about ready to admit that he was lost and had probably taken a wrong turn or three. The hazards of being a new employee, he supposed. It was really his own fault, considering he’d been asked if he needed someone to walk with him and show him where to go but he’d waved it off and said that he could find his way.
Clearly, he couldn’t.
He’d been told that they were relocating him from Splash Mountain to Space Mountain. That was fine by him, he just needed to cut through the utilidors from Frontierland to Tomorrowland with a stop off to change so he’d actually fit in where he was supposed to be. That was about where he’d gotten turned around. He’d found the dressing rooms and changed out of his cowboy duds and into a more space age like suit: black T-shirt, blue and orange overshirt, grey pants with a line down the side and black shoes and of course a Star Trekesque badge. Coming out of the change rooms he headed in what he thought was the right direction...but clearly wasn’t since when he took the stairwell up, he found himself in the Crystal Palace which was in Adventureland. Ducking out quickly he headed back down the stairs and had been wandering perplexed ever since.
Defeated and a little worried, considering he’s taking a lot longer to get to his post than he should have, he approaches the first person he sees: a dark haired man who looks like he knows exactly where he’s going and who’s probably worked here for more than a week.
“Excuse me but would you mind pointing me in the direction of Tomorrowland? I’m pretty new here and must have gotten turned around somehow...” He smiles apologetically, as if to make up for his lack of direction, and runs a hand back through his hair. Hopefully he’ll be able to find his way with a little friendly direction.

The thing is, though he'd never admit it, Shea uses the Utilidors only when he absolutely has to, because they're far more confusing than they have to be. As it is, he's making his way through from Fantasyland to Main Street so he can make his way to checking in on the status of preparations for the night's Wishes. He's become more cautious with fireworks now than he was while working with them before, but he won't be blamed for that. Considering.
It's the boy -- although he's taller than Shea -- in the Space Mountain uniform who's wandering around, looking lost, that brings Shea out of his reverie concerning Michael. He sees him before he's seen, and he almost doesn't want to help, because the Utilidors are something of an initiation as far as he can tell.
But the boy does look so terribly lost.
When he's spoken to, he tries his best to disguise his amusement, though he's sure it doesn't work very well; he's not in any rush, and as long as nobody tries anything stupid at the Wishes station, he's not even really needed for a while.
"New here?" he asks, smiling a little like a shark. "You're a ways away from Tomorrowland, I'll show you the shortest way, unless you want to try and follow the signs -- which I wouldn't recommend."

The other man seems amused by his lack of direction sense and James isn’t all that surprised. At least he seems willing to help, even if that smile of his was a bit...predatory? Either way, James quickly nods to take him up on that offer, smiling gratefully. “That would be great, thanks. Yeah, I’ve only been here about a week. I’m James, by the way.”
He extended a hand to shake, as he usually did, and let himself be relieved by the fact that he was actually going to get where he needed to go and relatively quickly at that, now that he was with someone who actually knew where they were going. He didn’t much like being later for things and this whole getting lost situation had definitely made him late. He really needed to learn how to get around these confusing passageways better. Maybe he could just spend a day memorizing all the routes and shortcuts. If he didn’t, he could see this happening a lot more and nobody needed that. The cast member whose position he was supposed to be taking over at Space Mountain was probably wondering where the heck James was. At least the random person he’d approached was willing to help him out.
“I’m guessing you’re not new here? You seem to know your way around, anyway. Lucky for me.” James was endlessly curious about what all the other cast members did, where they worked, how long they’d worked here. Maybe it was a little bit annoying and he tried not to bombard people with questions right off the bat but sometimes he just couldn’t help it. Hopefully it wouldn’t annoy this guy too much.
