So, we have a number of alliances and stuff here, and we shall be adding more as the plot continues! These alliances are all technically the same, but they just have different plot importance. PIRATESThe most populated sect in Vahalla, the pirates are composed of the middle class and lower of Valhalla, all looking for a way to quick cash. Pillaging and robbing people, pirates are fugitives, so many tend to lurk in Valhalla under false names. Pirates work in groups, as lone pirates are usually very uncommon and also inefficient. Hunted by every group in Vahalla, the pirates are the most wanted group in the entire world. Any captured pirates are sent to immediate death, skipping trial completely, so for pirates, it is safest to wander in the surrounding islands rather than mingle among others.
The League of Pirates is an organization of pirate lords and their king. The title Pirate Lord, is a highly prestigious name, being that it is only achievable through challenging the current lord in a battle to death. These lords divide the world of Valhalla into different sects, with each lord controlling the pirates within that section. However, this lord must also report to the King of the League, the founder of the League. Through this league, the pirate world is divided into different territories and also designs a code for all pirates to abide to, to keep pirates from killing others mindlessly. However, when the king dies, a special ritual is performed by the lords to determine the next king. Most pirate lords never even get a chance to take part of this ritual, as many die or get captured early into their lordship. NOBLESThe nobles are the rulers of Valhalla, possessing the most influence in the politics of the city. Close to the king, they are able to manipulate the rules into their own favor, to protect their own interests. The primary victims of a pirate's pillage, the nobles are known for hunting the pirates, which is why the VA exists. By using their massive sums of money, the nobles put out huge bounties on pirates, which in turn attract the bounty hunters of the city. Likewise, it's their money which also gets them their sphere of influence within the government of the city. They work together with the king and royal family to ensure their position, using it to gather massive sums of money to support themselves.
In Valhalla, the main family of power is the royal De Jons family, who were responsible for the founding of Valhalla and the reconstruction. From the beginning, the De Jons were one of the richest families in Valhalla, which made it possible for them to seize power in the city. Their rule has been absolute, as there has been no other royal family in the throne, keeping their power unchallenged. As the royal family, the De Jons family has control of the entire city, from finances, public events, and everything else. Of course, all of these events only play in favor of the nobles, being that they are one of a kind. VAHALLA AIRFORCEA group of hired mercenaries, the VA, as most people refer to it, consist of a mixture of hired arms and also low income families of Valhalla, risking their lives to earn the money of the nobles. The airforce is responsible for the protection and defense of the citizens of the city so they are typically sent to risk their lives in chasing pirates and bounty hunters alike. A respected group in the city, they patrol the cities night and day to protect the civilians. While some soldiers join simply as a job, others join to create some ties to the nobles, in order to use that connection to their advantage. Putting things into their favor, the soldiers befriend nobles in order to climb the social ranks in Valhalla.
The leaders of the Valhalla Airforce are known as the Wolves. This nickname derived from the fact that they were the leaders of the "dogs of the noble", and eventually, the name just stuck. As the leaders, the Wolves were tasked with managing the Airforce both inside and out. Their main priority was to protect the city from pirate raids, and then they were to serve as guards throughout the skies. All of these things were the responsibility of the Wolves, and if anything were to go wrong, it would go into their account. With all these tasks, the Wolves slowly became more of an anti-piracy organization, rather than an actual leadership for the VA. BOUNTY HUNTERSBounty hunters are commonly referred to as the vigilantes of the area, being hunted by the airforce, despite hunting for fugitives. The bounty hunters are known for their illegal methods of trying to capture pirates, or anybody with a bounty on their head, so not all are completely virtuous. Similar to the pirates, bounty hunters are commonly hunted by the airforce, and will be sentenced to immediate death if caught. They work to capture bounties, good or bad. In that essence, bounty hunters exactly like pirates, but achieving their riches through others.
In the world of bounty hunters, one can be granted an infamous title known as a Hunter. The title of Hunter shows that they have achieved many things, captured many pirates, or perhaps some other achievement. There is only one person that can declare a bounty hunter a Hunter, and that is the Muse. A descendant of an ancient royal bloodline, the Muse is responsible for choosing the best bounty hunters in Valhalla and making them a Hunter. Besides from this, however, the Muse possesses absolutely no power, with all the power within the Hunters themselves. As Hunters, they the power to control bounties, along with other things.
