hey Gen, thought i'd give you the update on here.

that way other people can laugh at my expense tongue.gif

so i went to the doctor eventually.
turns out i had 3 broken ribs and a couple of cracked ones
just got given some painkillers and sent on my way. they're really shitty ones though, so they don't really help.

so a word of warning for all you young 'uns out there: don't get drunk and have a huge playfight down at the park!! laugh.gif

Three broken ribs and a couple of cracked ones??? It's even worse than I thought! I'm glad you did end up going to the doctor's, even though they didn't really do anything. At least now you know that you don't have one of the broken ribs poking into some vital organ or something.

That's a pretty impressive feat, though, to get that many broken bones from playfighting. What was (were) the other(s) doing, swinging a park bench at you?

well we were going at it for a few hours

we were all pretty wasted by the end of it

i had a torn tshirt and was covered in blood, but at least i remembered to look out for my nice leather coat. i gave it to the random chick we were with to look after. she was wearing it all night
and for some reason i was wearing a cowboy hat. no idea where the hell it came from... but apparently i suited it

woke up the next morning feeling very, very sore

i didn't actually notice the ribs until a day or two later. i was on my way to work and saw a mate of mine as i was walking down the road. i was still feeling quite sore, and she came up and gave me a huge hug. now that's when i noticed the ribs. hugs should not hurt! sad.gif

Doug, you bastard... I think I bruised a rib! I blame you. You probably projected your pain all the way from New Zealand. Me and my stupid sympathy.

I'm pretty sure it's not broken, mainly because I haven't done a thing that would warrant a broken rib. Even as it is, I can't imagine what it is I did to cause this. When I woke up Sunday morning and I was hurting, I figured I had just slept funny. But now I'm in this crazy amount of pain any time I breathe, reach for something with my left arm, etc. Heaven forbid I should sneeze. I was about to earlier, but it went away, probably because my body realized that I would have died from it. I took a couple ibuprophens and it's keeping the pain mostly under control, so at least that much is good.

But yeah... I'm probably going to be skipping off work around midday and go to the doctor's, mostly cause I'd feel like a bit of a hypocrite if I didn't go, after all the hassle I gave you for not going. tongue.gif (But you have broken ribs. You could've punctured a lung or something) I wouldn't have come into work at all this morning if it wasn't for the fact that it's month's end and we have a crazy amount of work, and I couldn't just stick my team with extra work. (Apparently those stupid corporate values about "teamwork" and "respect" and whatnot have finally been drilled into my head)

I hope by posting in here I don't succumb to rib injuries as well! wink.gif Anyway, I think these pics might make Silver feel a little better anyway--Nicky Katt put up new pics at his IMDb page (well probably his agent actually...) Here is teh link:

http://imdb.com/gallery/hh/0441588/HH/0441...html?hint=group

I think the new ones are from a film with Jodie Foster called the "Brave One"

It's been two years since I played KOTOR II the first time!!!! That just hit me...

Later all,
Royal

Hehehe... don't worry about it. As it turns out, I only pulled some back/shoulder muscle I didn't even know existed (nor do I know how I pulled the damn thing). I didn't think a pulled muscle could ever put me in this much pain, especially from breathing. I seriously couldn't sneeze for 3 days because it hurt too much. It was the most bizarre thing ever.

Yeah, I bet... I couldn't breathe, sneeze, take off my jacket, reach for things at my desk at work, or do just about anything without at least cringing. That's when I was able to do them at all. And I didn't even have broken ribs. I can't imagine how you must've managed.

How are you feeling now? Still hurting, I'm assuming?

You guys, well gals too, are crazy with the injuries tongue.gif . Hopefully since I've read all this and have now posted, I won't slip and fall on the ice in my driveway in the morning. If so I blame you Silver for it all, mainly 'cause if it wasn't for your really good fanfics, I wouldn't have in turn joined your Yahoo group and then this message board and then been subjected to the pain. Erm, I think I thought that through way too much dry.gif .

In that case, I would blame Atton, not me. tongue.gif

DAMN YOU, ATTON RAND, FOR INJURING US ALL!!! *shakes fist*

(Frack, I've really gotta make some time to finish this fanfic... I'm just way too busy with stuff these days, so when I do have some downtime, I just want to veg out at my computer and play Oblivion or somesuch.)

Well then fine, it's all Atton's fault. I've got to go buy Oblivion, my friend has it on the Xbox 360 and that's all I play on it, so I guess I should buy it for the pc, course if I did that none of my friends would ever see me again. Yep, going to buy Oblivion soon.

My only issue with the PC version is that you can't put your own marker on the map as you can with the Xbox 360 version. Other than that, it's very pretty. Even nicer than the Xbox version.

But yeah, let's just say it's a good thing my bf lives in the same house as I do, otherwise I wouldn't have seen him for the first couple months I had the game. Ditto on when he got the game for his Xbox 360 a couple months later.

As for seeing my friends, well, fortunately for me, they come to my house to game (D&D and Star Wars d20) several times a week, so I don't have to go out of my way to go see them. I stop playing when they show up and start again when they leave. tongue.gif

Lucky you, if my friends want to hang out they call me and tell me to meet them somewhere. And another thing about the pc version, the duplication glitch isn't very easy to do. No I don't cheat, I just make it a bit easier on myself. biggrin.gif
