Claire is going to have many acquaintances.
I like to think she is well-liked by students
just cos she's kinda wacky and zany and fun-
loving. Her Charms classes are pretty inter-
active and entertaining, and she works hard
to help all students succeed. As far as people
her own age, Claire is really easy-going and
likes to go out and do things. So even if they
aren't staff, if they've bummed around Hogs-
meade they've probably seen her. Most friends
are pretty much acquaintances with her, since
she has some attachment/abandonment issues.
But I would like her to have one or two closer
friends that she can trust and freak out and cry
to if she needs to. As funny and carefree she
appears to be, her past still troubles her and she
could use someone to vent to.

Boring people. Holy cats, she hates boring people.
She would never openly admit it. She's a bit fake
in that way; smiley and pleasant even when she
thinks someone is being a total fucking idiot. BUT
she doesn't go around gossiping about it, so that's
a plus. In any case, I'm sure her hyper-bubbly
happy personality would irk quite a few people that
interact with her. Some sort of rival would be fun.
Maybe a fellow adrenaline junkie who is always
competing with her for the best experiences and
stories to tell? IDK. Random idea. But I'm up for
almost anything.

Yeeeeeeeeah, Claire isn't a big relationship person.
Again, that fear of abandonment often translate into
a small fear of commitment. It's not as if she's never
been courted. In fact, she's quite talented at flirting
and dating casually. Her social graces are enviable.
BUT, when it comes time to really dig into it, she can
come up with a million excuses not to. And if pressed,
she'll probably run for the hills. I WOULD like her to
have someone who pursues her, wants to be with her,
etc. etc., crap like that. She really would be the best sort
of woman for a man. But they would have to prove to her
that they're serious and that they're gonna stick around.
Her heart is all delicate and whatnot.

Hi! So what follows will probably sound pretty random. I apologize for that! I should have better ideas in the future. My brain is just exhausted at the moment.


Claire & Ian:
Ian Dunstan is my halfblood troublemaker! He comes from a large family that is just about as loud as he is, if not louder. He enjoys pranks or causing trouble in general. He’s in his 5th year at Sei and in Renard house.

I think Ian would enjoy her class! He’s actually getting better with Charms but he would still be considered pretty average at it. However, her personality would be just perfect for the boy. He has a problem sitting still in class and is easily bored. Most of the time he prefers just goofing off with Henri and Harpyr while in class. Due to this he can be pretty disruptive so feel free to send him to detention! Otherwise I really think he’ll enjoy her class very much! If he’s up and moving then he is a happy camper.

Claire & Cassie:
Cassie is my smart girl. She’s a muggleborn, in her 6th year, and in the Sagesse house. She really can’t turn down a good puzzle and 9 times out of 10 can be found either at the stables or in the library.

As far as charms, Cassie is right around average with her skills. While she might learn the spells quickly, she really doesn’t have a natural outstanding talent that really brings her above average. She just spends a lot of time reading and studying to make sure she does well in the class. I think these two would be friendly in the class setting because Cassie doesn’t exactly act out in class and you said in her app that she doesn’t try to figure out a student’s blood status to avoid bias. Although if she did somehow find out Cassie’s a muggleborn on accident and then Cassie’s grade started slipping I’m pretty sure the girl wouldn’t like her very much. She doesn’t like when her grades slip.

Claire & Lori:
Lori is the oldest daughter of Matthias Ritter, a senator who recently played a role in the attack on the senate and has had his name in the newspapers for once being a Death Eater. Lori herself is a pureblood (to the public, halfblood in reality) and an 8th year Taureau. She is practicing dark voodoo in secret.

Charms is one of her favorite classes! She’s actually fairly good at Charms and she does try hard in this class. I think these two will have a normal student/teacher relationship. I really can’t think of anything at the moment.

Claire & Silas:
Silas here is my grump! He is the 51 year old COMC professor who acts more like a hermit than anything else. He would have been here when she first started her training.

He probably would find her bubbly personality a bit annoying but then again just about everything annoys him. She would have started officially teaching around the time his wife passed away but during her training she may have met the woman. If she did, I think his wife would have liked her which meant Silas would have talked to her more often. At least when his wife was around. I don’t think these two would be enemies but I do know her happy-go-lucky bubbly personality would get on his nerves. But if she was a friend of Elena’s then he would try not to let that get to him too angry at her. He’d probably just treat her like he treats almost all his other coworkers.

Normally doesn't take me this long to reply! -shame- Anyways, I threw out some ideas. It's early and my brain is dead from exhaustion and allergy problems. Lemme know if it doesn't work, you want to change, or you have any ideas of your own!

HENRI RITTER - 5TH YEAR - JOYEAU - PEACOCK PLAYBOY

Henri likes her quite a bit. I think he's got a thing for French ladies. I don't know. The boy is very weird in my head around women. -eyes him- I could see him having a bit of a one-sided boyish crush on her. Like the school boy crush that the sophomore gets on his hot Science teacher type of thing. Could be interesting to play out hehehe! Other than that, he'd probably do horrible in her class because the only subjects he's good at are herbology and muggle studies.

As for his family history, see Lori. Except unlike Lori, he's in quite a bit of shock that his father murdered a bunch of people including the president. He's quite certain he's going to disown his entire family and runaway at this point.


JAMES GALLAGHER - PHOTOGRAPHER - FORMER RAVENCLAW - THE BEAST

Now this could be INTERESTING.

On the surface level, Claire seems like the type that James would enjoy being friends with. He does some jobs for the school - teacher interviews and what not so they could have met that way. Otherwise, she might have seen his articles in Wizarding Today and known him from that?

On a deeper level, James is a muggleborn and quite proud of it. If the two were friendly, and she found out - it could lead to some drama? James wouldn't lash out or attack her if she voiced her opinions. If anything, it'd encourage him to one up her.


MAYA RODRIGUEZ - 8TH YEAR - TAUREAU - HELL ON HEELS

I have a feeling Claire is one of those teachers that Maya eventually has a grudging respect for because she can't be pushed around. Maya right now is in a right fix. Her Aunt's in the hospital, her father is falling apart, and her parents are getting divorced. She's already a bundle of passionate ideals, an unruly temper, and little morals. Add that to the mix and you got a kid about ready to run off and do something stupid to avenge her family.

I don't know how Claire would feel about Maya though. Maya's the typical troubled insecure kid with family problems that acts out. She's also the school bully if that helps with plotting.

PETER BLACKBURN - 8TH YEAR - RENARD - INDIANA JONES

Peter. Oh Peter. He'd harass her. Constantly. About France. He's convinced if you came from any country besides the UK area, that you've seen some pretty awesome wicked stuff that he needs to know about. I'm not exactly sure how Peter does with charms - I'll have to think about that. However, he is a horrible student in class. He often daydreams and writes notes to his friends about adventuring or going to run off and chase dragons.

SADIE DUNSTAN - 7TH YEAR - JOYEAU - AMERICAN HONEY

Yay! Sadie's best subject! Sadie's the typical teenage girl - all confusion and hormones rolled into one. She was part of the popular bitchy girl group before she and Lori had a falling out. Now with her mother at St. Stephen's and her brother freaking out, she's a little out of place.

I think if you were up to it, we could play on that? Sadie could have been one of the star students or something. Claire could have heard or noticed that Sadie was a bit off lately and tried to counsel? Sadie could use a helping hand atm.


ANNA DUNSTAN - PONY EXPRESS - FORMER RENARD - BORN TO RUN

I'm not entirely sure how these two would interact! It could go very badly leading them to be enemies or very well. I do see either way that banter and a couple sharp jabs would be thrown here and there. Anna's a halfblood - her mother was a muggle and her father's lineage was mixed as well. So that might put a damper if Claire found out.

Right now, Anna will be in a coma for 2 months. However, Ian and Sadie are her children if you needed any kind of connection. Other than the fact, they could have met in Orleans. Though I warn you, Anna would make lots of charms jokes. Merely because it was her worst subject in school - she can't do a cheering charm to save her life.

[Blake Harper]

Blake Harper | 16 | 6th Year | Joyeau
Blake is so excited to finally get a Charms professor! It’s his best class aside from Care of Magical Creatures. Since he’s the member of the adventure club who tries to bring everything they could possibly ever need with him, he’s been trying to teach himself how to perform the Undetectable Extension Charm on his rucksack. He hasn’t made any headway as of yet, but he’s already cast the Featherweight Charm on it; so at least it isn’t heavy. Maybe he could ask her for lessons sometime? He’d tell her it’d just be for knowledge sake though. He can’t tell a teacher that he and his friends sneak off into the Bayou all the time.

He’s also a muggleborn, so it’s probably good that Claire doesn’t try to figure out the blood status of her students. Because I really think Blake would like Claire (so long as he doesn’t know about her bias against muggles), so he would be really disappointed if he knew that she saw him differently because of his parents’ being muggles. But other than that, Blake loves school and learning and her class specifically, so I don’t think she’s going to have any problems with him.


Wes Bailey | 37 | Transfiguration Professor | Former Renard
I think she and Wes would get along well too! But Wes pretty much gets along with anyone who isn’t a complete jerk, so that isn’t too surprising to me. He’s a laid back kind of guy most of the time and loves teaching (though it wasn’t his first choice in career). Wes would have been teaching at Sei for a few years before Claire joined, so maybe he could have shown her the ropes and helped her get settled in? I think he would have been glad not to be the new guy around campus anymore.

Wes was raised by his grandmother for the majority of his life, and his grandmother is a famous author in the magical world; so Claire could have read her books. Though they are erotic/thriller/espionage, so if that’s not her taste, then she could absolutely hate them because they aren’t real literature. And I think Wes would find that refreshing because he is pretty embarrassed that his Mamaw would write that kind of stuff. He definitely doesn’t go around telling people that’s where he got his money. She wrote under a pseudonym, which is why a lot of people don’t make the connection between Wes and those books.
