For those of you who don't read French, welcome to Seiseux Academy of Wizards and Witches! If you are here, you must be coming to look at our application system! Below you will find a few handy tips to get started and the application templates themselves! If you have any questions regarding the application or need help, feel free to contact Ryker (the application admin) or Sugar if Ryker is not available.

• Do not post an unfinished or works in progress application. Please save your work in word till you are able to finish.
  
• Here is a short and sweet guide on where to post your application. Once finished, please post your application in the COMPLETED forum. If there is any changes to be made, your application will be moved to pending with a pm sent with an explanation of changes needed.
• The title of your thread should be LAST NAME, FIRST NAME. The description should follow job/year, face claim.
• An admin will sort your character. If you believe we have read your character wrong, please send a polite pm with your reasoning for a preferred house to Ryker. More than likely, we'll work with you or respond with our reasoning to why they were sorted the way they were.
• Out of common curtsy, please do not pm/tell in the c-box for a staff member to look at your application. We will get to your application as fast as we can.
• Also, the admin team is here to help you! Please do not attack an admin because your application was pended. More than likely, you will be asked to leave and withdraw your application. We are not doing this out of malice. We just want to make sure your character and you are a good fit for the roleplay. After all, if your character is an ill-fit for the roleplay, it will be harder for others to plot with you. We do this to ensure a smooth transition for everyone and to make sure everyone has fun!

Face Claim: (A face claim must be a model, celebrity, or musician. Deviantart/Myspace/etc are not allowed for legal reasons as most of those models have asked their pictures not to be used for roleplay.)

THE PERSONALITY
Personality:(This is the most important section of the application. We ask that you do not just list down traits and expand upon them for the sake of having a large application. Who is your character? What does he or she do behind closed doors? How do they act with other people? What are their strengths and weaknesses? It is a good rule of thumb to give a character one major weakness that never goes away throughout their progression as long as one major strength. This section will determine your housing so keep it in mind!)

FAMILY & HISTORY
Family Members:(You may list just the brief details or give a summary. It is up to you!)
Any other family member of importance:(Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents.)
Place of Birth:(Keep in mind we only allow students from below the Mason-Dixie line unless they moved prior to enrolling in Seiseux.)
Social Class:(Upper, Middle, Lower, Working?)

History:
(The most important rule here is that history and personality must tie in together. If your parents were killed in a car crash, we expect some behaviorial changes in the personality to tie it in. Please do not go overboard with drama. It, even with the best intentions, will not make your character more unique. It only hinders them as they become unrelatable to the general public hence hard to plot with.

A good rule of thumb for writing histories is to follow these steps:

1) Parental/Family background. IF it is important. If your mother married a pureblood who was disowned for marrying her, this would be important. If they met at a local pub and married two years later, this is not.

2) Birth/Early childhood: Where were they born? How did they act as a child? Who raised them? Remember, it's a good time to begin to show the personality traits they have while writing this section.

3) Childhood up to Seiseux/First show of magic: A first show of magic explanation is required on all applications unless your character never had one. How did they feel when they got their first letter? Were they nervous? Excited? How about their family? You may "gloss" over the sorting as your character hasn't been sorted yet if you wish! )
