Well, Disney won the weekend. Not sure what the final total was, but the ratings for iSA was less than 3.9 million and didn't make the Top 25.
GLC and Austin & Ally though scored 4+ million. Have to say I wasn't surprised, given how little activity there was on the boards on premiere night. EDIT: Official numbers in. 3.612 million This post has been edited by snoopy87 on Oct 9 2012, 09:58 PM |

Which makes this the lowest rated hour-long iCarly, previous winner of that was iSAFW.
So I had to rewatch this episode because my Gibby annoyance rating was off the chart. What does Dan do? Start instantly with cheering for Gibby. This episode alone solidified the fact that I am not watching the Gibby spin-off unless they give his character a make-over, which Dan won't. I love that everyone was annoyed with him but I still hated watching him be annoying. Sam and Freddie interaction was very little but I loved the fact that she was practically hanging off him when she was holding the hat full of vomit. Freddie sitting on Gibby because he was trying to sit next to Sam was great. Though Freddie should have just grabbed Gibby and put him on the edge. It was kind of bizzare to watch the iCarlies on the Jimmy Fallon stage because it seemed like the moment they stepped on his show, they were not the characters but all playing themselves. Miranda has been there a dozen times so it was definitely hard to see her as Carly. Jennette basically was Jennette on the show, way too cheerful and starstruck looking to be Sam. That's just my opinion though. I mean I know she has been changing as a character but I was thinking Sam would have been a little more reserved in a way. Screaming Mel doll being a play on Mel Gibson was a little outdated of a reference even when they filmed the episode but I loved that Spencer turned it into his own doll. I gotta have one of those. Sam stealing everything down to the "Don't steal our stuff" sign was funny. Sam mistaking the NCC for the WNBA was hilarious, I love that line. NCC = FCC, didn't really pay attention to that when I first saw the sneak peek. . The outside scenes were well done, it was nice to see them outside of NOS and onto a real backlot. I loved seeing the continuity of Sam's house and her mom trying on bikinis. That was awesome! I always love to see Sam's house but we're always teased with just that little chair she sits on. I agree with you though ycc, it definitely was weird seeing someone else as a body double for Pam knowing that Jane Lynch plays her. She is not that busy with Glee, especially since the new season is going back and forth between New York and the Glee club room. There isn't enough time for Sue shenanigans. They could've gotten her if they just asked. At least have some ADR work for that shot. I knew what the ending was because of the released photos but it still came quick and suddenly. Also the Lorne stuff was really funny! I love that they added that in and made it seem like he was a father type figure to Jimmy. Also, yes Jimmy Fallon is not aired live but in order to make this wardrobe malfunction work it had to be live. Also, the 5 second delay thing is apparently nonexistent. |

I am still a bit nauseated by Gibby going commando.
Eeeww. The numbers for this ep, despite a low for an hour long special, still show a nice rebound for iCarly. At this point, I don't give a damn if kids are watching it. Who cares? They are probably watching something silly like Shake It Up. But iCarly is for adults who have a kid-like love of TV. (ie, it is for the Spencer in all of us.) |

Didn't think much of this episode really. I've never watched Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and...Gibby...I feel so bad about his character/Noah because when he was a little kid and only on the show now and then I absolutely adored his character and Noah's acting, I thought so many of the episode he were in were golden episodes because he was in them, but as soon as he grew up and became a regular cast member...the only time I ever liked him again was certain episodes during the Seddie arc. The cheering whenever he enters a scene beyond annoys me, it is so forced and he is not worthy! and I miss it just being the original iCarly trio. Actually when I watched this episode for the first time and they were all throwing the money around in the end I really wished Gibby wasn't there and it was just the original three iCarlies. It didn't even register with me until this episode that he is in every iCarly webcast now and that just isn't right. He has intruded on the iCarly TV show being the Carly, Sam and Freddie show but now the iCarly webcast isn't even the original Carly, Sam and Freddie show that it was. And to think... initially when Noah was added to the main cast I was really happy for him because I still loved the Gibby character.
Just needed to get that off my chest. I know we all hate Gibby :P but it makes me sad because I hate having grown to hate him because I really used to love him. Dan just ruined a great character in my eyes and it's really saddening. Not to mention it worries me that he could/is doing the same with a great relationship: Seddie. I forgot to mention that the board room scene was really funny. Spencer ditching them and Sam immediately blaming Jimmy Fallon for Gibby's malfunction.
@Mike- I know. I feel bad for the iCarly universe people. I was grossed out by just looking at his legs. @SeddiexxMischief- I know what you mean. Young Gibby in small doses was fine but larger doses, his personality is just annoying. I think Dan got used to writing so many characters on Victorious and brought that over to iCarly by making Gibby and T-Bo have bigger roles. With how much screen time T-Bo was getting last season I for sure thought his name was going to be added to the opening credits too. |

^ I think what added more to the "giblet" exposure was the constant movement of Gibby's legs. Too much Gibby in motion! *shields eyes*
What has really hurt Gibby's progression as a character is his transformation to "weird oddball" to "cocky ladies man." If I'm going to watch a cocky character, they need to have a lot of charisma. Ex. MJF's Alex P. Keaton. Noah just doesn't have it. I don't fully blame him. Instead of letting Gibby sit out some group scenes, Dan has forced him into all of them. (And in my view, Dan's writing is at its weakest in "Victorious." He does not know how to handle a large cast. He never has.) I'm at least glad that stupid head disappeared. Now if only the "Gibb-ay" thing would stop. Nobody likes that. On the flip side, I've really enjoyed how they've handled the increase of T-Bo's appearances. They didn't change his character, and he's only included when needed. But Dan wasn't looking at creating a T-Bo spin-off. This post has been edited by snoopy87 on Oct 11 2012, 08:34 PM |

All of the Gibby hitting on Spencer's girlfriend scenes (forgot her name) made me annoyed and uncomfortable. A child is hitting on this woman and she has the giggles? Call Officer Carl! Dan always calls Noah the fifth Beatle....well the Beatles ultimately only had four members when they became mega successful so at this point, the fifth would have been dead weight which is what Gibby is. Season 4 was absolutely horrible with him since he really was put in every single scene with the trio. The next season his character wasn't put in every scene but that stupid "catchphrase" was invented and the clapping whenever he entered the room started. Although he didn't see it or didn't care to respond because he was so offended, I tweeted to Dan expressing my dislike for the clapping. It just is annoying and gives the show a 90s feel to it. I think Dan once expressed that he didn't like audience clapping whenever a character entered the room. I would love to find that quote and show it to him. At this point he needs an intervention himself. I think in a way the evolution of Gibby is also Dan's evolution. He was well liked by everyone and his shows were doing well, then over time he got cocky about what he was making and thought everything was great and amazing though really his writing was suffering. At first I thought it was great that Dan was writing every single episode of iCarly but over time it seemed clear like we were getting too much of Dan's writing and not enough from the other writers. I really wonder what the other writers do in the writer's room if Dan's name is stamped as head writer on every single episode with the exception of a few where he allowed another writer's name. I know the other writer's will add to his script but I think it's unfair for them all to just be unnamed additions to the scripts and not get credit.

I thought the 90's were "cool" now? Make up your mind, kids! But I agree, Gibby was much better as a recurring role. There's only so much "Gibbeh" you can take. :P This post has been edited by SeddieBerserker on Oct 12 2012, 08:20 PM |

I really loved that episode, in spite of the obnoxious "Gibbay!" overload. The hour-long episodes usually feel too long and a little boring, but I felt that this hour flew by. :yay:
Loved the bike messenger silliness even though I didn't understand why Spencer was so amped to see one.. Never seen a bike messenger, Spencer? Do you never venture outside of your apartment building in downtown Seattle? The thing I found funniest about the NCC meeting is when they claimed that there are tons of kids that watch Jimmy Fallon, a show that begins at 12:30 am. But of course, the good kids, Freddy and Carly are asleep when Spencer wants them to see the show and bad girl Sam with the horrible mother surely would be watching TV all night long as a matter of routine. A freakazoid like Gibby probably never sleeps. And again, why exactly do Cibby and Sibby shippers exist? When I saw the Seinfeld bits in the credits, it made me think how lame it is that Gibby is getting these phoney-baloney audience eruptions like he's Kramer or something. The interaction with Spencer's babe of the week was just gross. With Gibby's current characterization, I feel like GIBBY! is going to be like Forrest Gump without the sentimental charm (bad, in other words). |

Wow been awhile, but I did get a chance to watch this episode. Looks like each week is a new episode which means that's the last dry spell...sadness.
Hmm I still need to read your guys reviews but did anyone find this episode.....lackluster.... I hope it isn't because iCarly is getting old to me (well the clips to the next epi are pretty great though) but seriously I was getting bored. I guess because it was such a gibby-centric plot flashing his...flapjacks that I was more disturbed than amused. Gibby really should have stayed a minor character. I would have loved to have Mrs. Benson or T-Bo as a regular instead of Gibby. NEVEL would have even been great. But Gibby's just the weird wacko which now is a smooth ladies man....there wasn't even any Cibby! The trio was perfect though. Carly freaking out and puked those memories was tragically cute(what?). Sam still stealing things. And Freddie gettin slightly fiesty with iCarly being his life. I don't maybe I should give the episode another try.... Oh one last thing! Austin and Ally gettin a good number of audience! :D I like the show a lot.. This post has been edited by thefbm on Oct 13 2012, 10:10 PM |

I found this episode lackluster as well. I think what really hurt it other than Gibby being the main focus was the Jimmy Fallon aspect of the show. Up until now we have never heard a peep of the iCarlies, Spencer or Gibby even talk about Jimmy Fallon. Yet this episode comes on and he is a comedic god that Spencer can't get enough of. It's the same problem the iGot Jungle Worms episode had with One Direction. Too much pimping people that the iCarlies have never even spoke of. It would have worked a lot better if this episode centered on Ryan Seacrest or David Schwimmer since those two are mentioned frequently. Of course neither of those two have shows where Gibby could have....exposeed his flapjacks but Gibby could have easily said a curse word on Ryan's radio program or something and got into equal trouble.

I'm generally disappointed in the number of guest stars they are having in this last stretch of episodes, even Emma Stone, though I'm actually excited about her, is still the same thing. I think it is an obvious symptom of a show running out of ideas and the writers lack of caring, which is pretty dang sad. They could have iCarly go out in such an amazing way, addressing things that have been part of the show since the very beginning without making it rely on a rehashing of old jokes (something they have been doing a lot lately...) rather than pimping out all these guest stars.

Emma isn't playing herself, she is playing a super-fan named Hannah. Her part much like Jim Parsons' role was not written for her. She was approached about it when the cast was at the after party for SNL which she was there for. Famous guest stars used like that are not a problem. It's when the characters are written to idolize the actors the entire time they are in the episode is where the problem lies. Tina Fey is somewhat an exception since she made a brief appearance, though the iCarlys still flipped out when they saw her.

Personally, I've found pretty much everything since iOAR lackluster. It's depressing because we all know iCarly could have had the best ending, but I'm not even excited for new episodes anymore.
I miss the iOMG times :( If only Dan had let the fandom write the last couple episodes. They would have been amazing :D Edit: Oops, forgot about iPS. That obviously wasn't "lackluster" :P This post has been edited by cookiedough97 on Oct 28 2012, 01:52 PM |

So apparently DYH&GO and Thank-you notes are real Jimmy segments. Nice touch.
