Title: 5x05 iPear Store (#504)
Description: May 12 2012
SeddieTheRealDeal - February 25, 2012 10:58 AM (GMT)
Here's a place we can discuss the episode where Freddie and Sam work together. Title is most likely right due to the fan who went to the set leaking it, but if it turns out to be wrong I'll change it.
Seddierulesall - February 25, 2012 12:13 PM (GMT)
I couldn't watch Jennette's ustream live because my family picks the worst times to do things together, so I just now watched it. Ahhhhhh. The way she phrased how this episode is, just love.
I cannot wait to see some classic Seddie and to see the two of them in a place where Freddie would feel on top of the world? I just can't wait to see. I mean....just the looks Sam will give him in this episode.
Too excited.
SeddieTheRealDeal - February 25, 2012 12:31 PM (GMT)
I know right? I can't wait. I so hope we get to see more of her hidden techy side some more.
I do agree with some others that say the reason she joins the workforce again (we all know how much she hates to work) is maybe Ashley works there still. Sam would be jealous and want to protect Freddie from possible advances from Ashley. To me that sounds like a pretty good motivation for Sam to want to do something she hates.
ycc1988 - February 25, 2012 03:49 PM (GMT)
Can anyone post the exact Jennette quote?
snoopy87 - February 25, 2012 04:05 PM (GMT)
Here's the video where she talks about it. Starts at the 5 min mark.
[doHTML]<iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pWlnRJFOkyM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/doHTML]
She never mentions the Pear store. That bit was released by somebody who visited the set. (I checked Tumblr where it was said to be released, and I can't find a post, so I take it they deleted it.)
Archnemesis - February 25, 2012 04:31 PM (GMT)
I like these Ustream things because everyone who does them seems off-the-cuff and unrehearsed. We're so used to seeing these people in a controlled situation (even Twitter, to some extent) that when you just see them sitting down and talking about various stuff for a long period of time, they just seem more like "regular" people and less like controlled entertainment product. Jennette just seems like a regular girl who is making chit-chat at the grocery store or something. I like the format.
Very excited about this episode, too. True, Jennette doesn't mention the title, but I think there's enough circumstantial evidence to go with the Pear Store thing. Makes sense.

Yeah, that's one of the things I've always loved about the iCarly cast's Ustreams. They always seem really laid back and chill. I really appreciate that because I know many "celebrities" who do live chats and it comes across very clearly that it's a formal thing with a publicist or someone else monitoring them from across the room with the celebrity seemingly not even wanting to be there. The off the cuff vibe is nice, and from a PR perspective kind of genius. Make fans feel like they're watching a friend, not a celebrity. Great for fanbase building.
OT. Sorry. haha Anyways, on topic.
I really am excited for this episode. I can see Sam either being really blase about it and it driving Freddie up the wall since he'd be so professional and serious about everything. OR I could see Sam actually being really good at it...so good she actually does better than Freddie, despite her typically lazy work ethic. Which would probably also drive him up the wall.
And I can't wait to see why Sam gets a job at the Pear Store after Freddie starts working there. The potential for trouble/bickering/hilarity is definitely high on this one.

My wheels are really turning on that one. :)
It'd be nice if it was an i-can-be-normal-and-responsible type thing. We all know what that means.

An actress by the name of Jeanette O'Connor has a role in this episode too.
WORKED ON 'ICARLY' TODAY AND MONDAY!! THANK YOU KRISHA, JENNY & JAMIE!!
candii_rockz - February 25, 2012 05:45 PM (GMT)
So what I'm getting from this is...
Sam and Freddie are working at the Pear store...
Something goes wrong...
Then something gets on fire.
Trey is probably Carlys "boyfriend for an episode",
Woody is working at the Pear store,
Lonnie is having a hard time with Sam,
Natalie's their manager,
Chet and Brenda put the fire out,
Velma and Melinda, again might be Sam and Freddie's customers
And Kevin is just walking around.

A buff guy just walking around? Named Kevin? WHY AM I LAUGHING. I can't wait to see what happens with Sam & Freddie. I do wonder, why is Sam working? She has a lazy work ethic, lol. Is it to get closer to Freddie? Or just drive him crazy..? This episode is gonna be great, I just know it!
Paperwillow - February 25, 2012 07:15 PM (GMT)
Maybe Sam and Freddie break something expensive at the store and have to start working there to pay it off?

I highly approve of this idea.
But why do I have a feeling that somehow Sam gets coerced into this? Maybe she broke/destroyed/ate something valuable, and now is forced to get a job to pay back the damage.
Linds911 - February 25, 2012 07:57 PM (GMT)
Jennette described it as "Freddie does something, then Sam does the same things/something & things obviously go wrong." :arrghpirate:
Sam hates working so I'm curious as to why but hey I'm all for Seddie interaction :)

Maybe, although that sounds a little too much like a rehash of iOwe You, a plot we've seen already.
We know she hates to work, but who knows?
neko12 - February 25, 2012 09:39 PM (GMT)
Maybe Sam is there bugging Freddie while he's working and she breaks something so she has to take a job to pay for it?
Or maybe she really wants to buy something and has to get a job to do it? Although why she would choose a job at the Pear store where Freddie is working...Hmm... :)
Unless Sam is absolutely forced into this against her will, which, let's face it, when it comes to Sam, only Carly really has the power to do (and I don't see Carly forcing Sam to work when she knows how much Sam hates to work), this can only be good for Seddie even if the end results are disastrous.
If it's Sam's idea to work there, that's great because there's no way she'd be caught working at a Pear store if Freddie wasn't there. So an underlying motivation has to be working with Freddie, whether it's because she misses him or just wants to prove a point. Maybe he says something like she'll never be able to hold down a job and she takes it as a challenge. Maybe she just wants to flat out bug him, resorting back to the playground techniques she used when they were younger to get his attention.
Whatever happens, I'm just glad to see a Sam/Freddie-centered plot line. 14 episodes! Plenty of time to build up to something again...:D
SlowandSeddiewinstherace - February 26, 2012 01:50 AM (GMT)
AH! I cannot wait for this episode!
Lonnie: Do you sell pears?
Sam: *sigh* ...no. :...:
Lonnie:Oh............Do you sell pears?
Sam:No! :curse:
Lonnie:....Do you sell---
Sam: GET OUT. :curse:
Freddie: Sam, be nice.
Sam:But she..I mean...UGH!!! :censored:
SeddieTheRealDeal - February 26, 2012 01:54 AM (GMT)
I'm truly happy that we're getting a Seddie plot. It seems obvious Dan is brilliantly edging them ever closer to a reunion with every episode.
I agree with you Arch. Sam sure is stacking up the points in her "I'm normal" bank isn't she? the cleaning up in iQ, the helping Carly make pizza in iBalls, going ten whole days without getting in trouble in iTFC, and now her getting a job even though she hates work in iPS. What will be next? Furthermore, what will Freddie do next to show he can be abnormal? I wonder? Hmm
My mine wheels are a-turning

When we last saw Ashley, she said that she was going to write about the "Hire an Idiot" experiment as part of her Sociology thesis. She is the top of her class at Seattle Tech. She works at the Brilliance Bar in the Pear Store.
Dan has to tease us with something tomorrow. I don't see how he could resist posting a pic of them working together and going, "What is this? Sam and Freddie working together?"

Ugh, I hope so! We haven't gotten much since the April Fool's episode filmed. I would love to see a pic of Sam and Freddie in their Pear Store employee outfits. I wonder if they will look like the shirts the employees at the Apple Store wear.
snoopy87 - February 27, 2012 01:28 AM (GMT)
^ As somebody whose closest Apple store is 4 hours away .... I had to Google search what the shirts even looked like.
Needless to say, when I first watched "iHire an Idiot," I didn't even know what they were referencing when they talked about the Brilliance Bar.

I would also love it as well to see a pic of Sam and Freddie in their Pear Store employee outfits.
And thinking about this episode is also reminding me of that classic "Brady Bunch" episode "Marcia Gets Creamed" where Marcia and Peter (or it might had been Greg) got jobs at a ice cream shop and Marcia fired her brother for being lazy and then hired her sister Jan and it turned into major sibling rivalry after the manager gave the assistant manger position to Jan instead of Marcia (I think that's what happened).
But hopefully this will not be the case with the iCarly gang fighting with each other over the Pear Store assistant manager position.

There was an episode of the Brady Bunch called.. Marcia. Gets. Creamed ...?
:eeps: ... anyways, I think I'm looking forward to this episode even more than iGJW simply because of the seddie banter that is likely to ensue.
Maybe Freddie has a rough day at work for whatever reason and talks to the girls about it, and getting no sympathy from Sam (obviously) he challenges her with, "you think you could do a better job?" .. and Sam sets out to prove that she can, with disastrous results, of course.
Archnemesis - February 27, 2012 03:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but it definitely was Peter who got fired for incompetence, not Greg. Greg was older than Marcia and hardly willing to work somewhere with her as his superior. Just the way things used to be, I guess.
Jan came in and outworked Marcia.
I remember that one because I always shipped Jan/Me. ;)
Sorry for the detour, Carry on...
