The Police are here,ParaMedics are here we even have some Fire Fighters who have brought in a young girl with a badly burnt back. There are 28 cases chalked up and it's my 9:00pm break. If this email had sound you would want me to turn it off.We are fully staffed and everybody is having to be extra good at what they do.If Scouting is about anything it about working in a Team. And that's what we are having to do.The Team I work with are just wonderful and we look out for each other. One of the problems is that Young People don't do that and in London there are Posters with Photographs of a frightened looking Adolescent with the script which says."Look Out For Your Mates,Don't Leave Them On The Road To Die".I think Scouts do form friendship bonds.Looking around there are some very, very scared hurt Young People waiting to be treated.Although parents are notified of an addmission very few turn up infact many slam the phone down and one who came to the Hospital earlier this evening said he would kill me if his Son was sent home !!Oh yes I forgot to mention we have a number of Social Workers who's role is to get places of safety for these kids. This in many cases does not mean a return to their home. This for many, many young people is where they are least Safe !!!!!
Just Think About That.'Least Safe.....' Dr.Stu.. |
