Question -
What is everyone's favourite campsite that they have visited?? I would have to say mine is Fordell Firs (but not been to much else, as there is such a diverse range of activities there) |

yualbury international scout camp or gillwell.
Non-scouting ones are roundhills int the new forest or one in exmore near limington and lymmouth, it has open fires, and a stream running through it. In the morning the vally is full of wood smoke from that campsite and a site near it. frodo |

I have to agree with you about Frylands, theres so much to do there considering the size of it and how it is so close to South London. They've also got one of the best fish and chip shops in the country just down the road!
Further afield I would have to say Broadstone Warren is the closest to the wilds around here. Plenty of opportunity for a backwoodsman weekend. |

In terms of a Scout campsite, I would have to say Tawd Vale. It's got plenty of activities for the Scouts and it's a proper little woodland retreat. Every site presents its own "challenges" to overcome or opportunities to pitch your camp in a different way. I find it keeps things fresh and keeps the Scouts who have been to Tawd Vale before interested, as they have to pay attention to know what's going on.
Although from a non-Scouting point of view, there's a really good campsite in Snowdonia called Llyn Gwynant. It's basic but it's got stunning views and it's handy for Llanberis, Snowdon and the mountain railway (if you're rich and lazy that is... at £18 per passenger and they only allow you half an hour at the summit, I prefer the walk!). |

Mine would be Braid Wood mainly as I spend alot of time helping out there but also because the whole team are very freindly. Its cheap and they have everything a campsite needs :-)
