Who or What? An exorcist is merely a summoner, only in reverse. It is not unusual for a demon to form their bonds on a whim, for their own reasons, and some humans just are not prepared for their new baggage. They turn to exorcists, holymen, and practiced individuals to help them break their bonds with their demons.
Exorcists are feared by all demons, good and bad. Hated demons are ripped from their hosts and cast aside to save the human they are feeding on. Normally peaceful demons with mutual bonds to a human may also find their bonds shredded in the presence of a exorcist.
Exorcists are THE power to be wary of in this world. If you are an exorcist you have the power to make anything you want take place: you can destroy bonds between humans and demons, you can make demons come to you on command and use them in ways a summoners can only dream of doing, and you can destroy a demons’ ability to bond with a mere thought: thus forcing it into a slow death of starvation.
Exorcists are not always bound by finality: they can change their mind and easily take back anything they do. They may save you from a demon, but piss them off and they’ll let the demon take control again.
Exorcists are born, not trained. So they often have to learn their skills on their own. Demons cannot bond with them for feeding purposes, they appear to be immune to such bonds, but exorcists can enslave a demon to help them learn things.
In recent years, exorcists have been able to find each other through means such as the internet, and often host large conventions where they get together to share their knowledge with each other. As a result the once brooding traveler of the past has become a frightening force. In quick succession and with little effort they learn tools and tricks they may not have been able to on their own.
There are even whispers that there may be an exorcist training school in the works.
Truly frightening. Exorcist? Summoner? What is the difference?So...are they evil or good?What exactly is their abilities limited too?Necromancers?What do they look like?Can they have familiars?Are they immortal?What can kill them?What happens when they die?Um...they die. Practically human themselves when they die it's like any other human being.
