pansy parkinson, slytherin's ice princess. well, at least she was during her hogwarts years. but there's a saying that everyone can change, and miss parkinson is a prime example of that very statement in action. after the war, pansy realized that, while she may still think that she's better than a lot of people, especially those that are of a 'less worthy' blood lineage, it's no reason to start a bloody war over it. voldemort's defeat didn't sit well with her, and it took a good bit of time before she actually realized what was going on. not wanting to fight with anyone, yet not willing to admit that
she her side lost, pansy silently retreated into the background, going on with her life and just waiting for something better to come along. currently, she's working at the ministry in the floo network office and still trying to capture the attention of one mister draco malfoy.

parvati always had a particular gift for divination, and everyone was surprised when her occupational choice didn't reflect that aforementioned gift. however, this young witch, after everything that she went through during her years at hogwarts, became committed to preserving the sanctity of the wizarding world as she knew it in its fleeting time of peace. parvati thus now works at the ministry as an obliviator, and it is this position that has made her the target of the omnis virtus. blaise zabini could greatly use parvati to his advantage, and thus he has been attempting to befriend her over the past few months. anything can happen now that voldemort's gone, right? even an unseeming friendship between a gryffindor alumnae and a slytherin alumnae.

seamus finnigan was always a supporter of harry and his ideals, despite those few moments in which his loyalty seemed to waiver. however, as the news of these mysterious murders has reached his ears, seamus has found himself wanting to be completely divested from the situation at hand. his classmates from hogwarts that are now his co-workers at the ministry pester him constantly about joining the investigation or at least taking an outward stance on the issue. seamus just wants everyone to leave him alone. however, when he overhears a conversation between blaise zabini and astoria greengrass, he has no choice but to become involved.

ginny potter, recently married to the famous harry potter, hasn't gotten all the happiness and contentedness that she would have imagined upon marrying her school sweetheart. while she's stuck at home - partially her own decision, partially due to harry's still persistent and overwhelming desire to keep her safe, even if that means keeping her locked away - harry's out gallivanting around, still trying to save the world. is it too much to ask to see her husband once in a while? ginny simply isn't happy, and she's finding solace in a newfound friendship with harry's partner, draco malfoy.

people may have scoffed at luna lovegood's eccentricity and concurrently her father's seemingly nonsensical journalism, but no one could ever contest her undying sense of loyalty. now working as the lead reporter for the quibbler, luna's devoted herself to communicating all of the
true details surrounding this mysterious string of murders, even if it means doing some investigating herself. she wouldn't quite declare herself a vigilante, for she hasn't publicly taken a stance nor has she dared to venture out in the field. rather, she makes a point of chatting up her friends from her school days - as many of them are now involved in the investigative efforts surrounding the case, she's got a free ticket to a wealth of information. or so she thought - some of her classmates aren't as willing to pass on the details as she had hoped.

being a pureblood wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and daphne never got caught up in all of the elitist nonsense that her peers, particularly her housemates, were so concerned with. perhaps being a pureblood had its advantages, but she didn't find it to be any excuse to flaunt that aspect in other people's faces or rub their noses in it. call her apathetic, but daphne just wanted to live her own life without worrying what other people thought of her. after the war, she opened up her own gift shop, filled with a number of magical trinkets and items, hoping to carve her own path free of the influence of her family name. however, her younger sister, astoria, continues to try the older girl's patience as she incessantly tries to recruit daphne for this cult or whatever it is she keeps prattling on about. daphne has turned a deaf ear to the younger girl's rantings, but with all of these killings in the news, perhaps she should start to listen.

fleur is happy as can be with her husband, but she can't ignore the sinking feeling that she's been getting in her stomach lately due to the news of the murders and likewise embezzlement of magical powers. ron and harry have stopped by plenty of times, but all those aforementioned visits have surmounted to are the three men speaking in hushed tones, discussing theories or information regarding the investigation, no doubt. after all, who better to face another bout of dark magic than the famous harry potter, the one responsible for the defeat of voldemort? fleur wishes to know more, but for now, she must simply remain in silence, hoping that her badgering of her husband will eventually yield some sort of result.

even though pureblood families always provisioned themselves at the top, there was always still a hierarchy that existed amongst the elite. and let's face it - despite how things ended up, the malfoys were always slated a tier above the zabinis. blaise, now a twenty-two year-old unspeakable working in the department of mysteries, is tired of living in draco's shadow and has finally discovered a way to put him ahead of not only his best friend, but ahead of
everyone now that the dark lord is gone. after discovering the secret to draining one's magical powers, blaise founded the omnis virtus, a very secret society bent on attaining all of the power that exists. as the leader, he of course is very selective about who he shares this pivotal information with, and he'll be damned if draco malfoy can stop him now.

astoria has always known what living in someone else's shadow felt like, even if she herself thought that they were a disgrace to their family name. being the younger sibling always left story feeling left out or forgotten, and daphne's apathetic views of practically everything didn't help matters. so when she heard blaise zabini muttering about living in draco malfoy's shadow, astoria instantly commiserated with him. not to mention that she still held a vendetta after draco broke of his engagement with her a year ago, a union that had been arranged by their families. everyone around her was a disappointment of a pureblooded magical being, and blaise soon proved to be exactly the restoration of her faith that she needed.

goyle may never have been the brightest of individuals, but that didn't mean that he couldn't
feel. and what he's felt since the end of the war and his time at hogwarts is betrayal and an overwhelming desire of vengeance. he's never forgiven the golden trio for what he insists they did to crabbe, and draco's new allegiance to the ministry and seemingly the aforementioned three individuals that they had always pledged to loathe has hardly inspired a sense of camaraderie. thus, goyle has joined forced with someone who has always seemed to stick to his guns - blaise zabini, and he's suggested that they target a more high-profile individual for their next victim. namely, one hermione granger.

harry potter, the boy who lived and now the boy who defeated voldemort. after the war, harry went on to become an auror and marry ginny, the girl he believed to be the love of his life. however, his overwhelming urge to keep her safe has her frustrated with their relationship and harry finding himself not wanting to go home and face their constant rows. they've only been married a year - shouldn't they still be happy? despite his marital problems, harry's been spending a lot of time with hermione - sleeping with her, more like it. she was always there for him when he needed someone the most, and she's proving to continue to do so even now, although this newfound sort of comfort comes with a hefty set of complications. oh, and add into the mix that draco malfoy is harry's new partner in the auror office after harry surprisingly served as a character witness for the blonde wizard, saving him from a sentence in azkaban. what else is in store for this famous wizard?

blimey, for someone who helped save the world, ron's had a tough time adjusting to the so-called time of peace - perhaps he's simply more accustomed to chaos. after voldemort's defeat, ron was simply elated and dumbfounded by his newfound relationship with hermione, and why wouldn't he? things were going swimmingly. however, something had him afraid of commitment, and he dragged his feet when it came to proposing, which, admittedly, he
did have his heart set on doing. yet in his hesitation, he lost her, and now he's decidedly doing everything in his power to win her back. simple enough. but oh no, ginny has also enlisted her older brother's help to check on her husband - his best friend - to see what he's been up to, for she hasn't seen harry in ages, and she's beginning to suspect that something's wrong. it doesn't take a divination expert to predict that neither parties are going to benefit from ron's snooping.

draco malfoy has changed. but in consideration of being faced with a lifetime sentence in azkaban, that potential consequence in light of a wishy-washy resolve at best would inspire anyone to change their ways if it meant saving their soul. after harry potter served as a character witness for draco at his trial, thus saving him from condemnation, the blonde wizard did a complete one eighty and became an auror. truthfully, he was surprised they allowed it, but under harry's constant supervision, draco is now playing for the good guys. he's become a key ingredient in the murder investigation, as well as a soothing influence on the new mrs. potter. he's spent many a night over at the potter abode, wanting to speak with his partner, but instead listening to the rantings and ravings of ginny. it's become a strange friendship of sorts, and frankly, after breaking off his engagement with astoria, draco has missed having a female companion that could match his own wit and intellect.

after the war ended, everyone thought that hermione would get married to ron and they would immediately have a horde of ginger-haired children. well, much to molly's dismay, ron dragged his feet in making that ultimate commitment, despite how wholly he had seemed to pledge himself to hermione. before long, hermione couldn't take waiting for what she thought would never happen, so she broke it off and refocused her attention on her career. she hasn't really spoken to ron much since she ended their relationship a year ago, but if only that were the case for harry, her
married best friend. but oh no, she's sleeping with him - the twenty-two year old witch is beginning to think she should probably just avoid the weasleys now altogether.

neville, the boy who
could have been the boy who lived, instead turned out to be heralded as a war hero nonetheless. after everything he did to aid the golden trio as well as his efforts during the final battle at hogwarts, neville longbottom discovered a sense of confidence that he had always found himself wanting throughout his school years. he's now teaching herbology at hogwarts after its reconstruction, and he couldn't be happier. however, at the news of these mysterious murders, neville can't just sit back and wait for the next person to die - upon first hearing about the situation, neville contacted the one person he knew would be out to save the wizarding world from terror - harry potter. when harry was unable to give neville any official information, he redirected him to another mutual friend of theirs who was taking matters into her own hands - hermione granger.

no one had really heard from viktor krum after the triwizard tournament aside from his achievements in quidditch, not even hermione. however, hermione was the first person that he contacted when he heard about these mysterious murders. it seemed completely out of the blue, but in truth, viktor has a very personal attachment to helping catch the culprit(s) of these heinous crimes, for catching the culprit means catching the person that murdered his cousin. no one knows of his personal motivation, but hermione was certainly happy to let the bulgarian become a part of her vigilante efforts. after all, it was one more person aiming to rid the wizarding world of this new breed of evil, and there was certainly nothing condemnable about that.
