"Potatoes for sale. Potatoes for sale. Potatoes for sa--"
Logic was cut off mid-sentence when something very heavy and hard hit his back, causing him to stumble forward a foot or so--and since there was nowhere to stumble, he pretty much fell into the basket of potatoes sitting on the table in front of him. Before his employer, who was currently a little ways off buying some fruit, could see, Logic quickly forced himself out of the basket and turned to glare at the offender: Flynn, his Metagross. "I'll bet you're the reason everyone's steering clear."
It was hard to tell, but Logic was pretty sure Flynn was giving him a dull look. "Naturally, blame the innocent Steel-type."
"Who's only five feet tall and twice as wide," Logic retorted.
"Precisely," the Metagross replied coolly, unable to pick up on the sarcasm. Logic simply stared for a moment more, then turned back to the crowd. In a bored tone, he started up his "potatoes for sale" chant, which consisted of that very phrase said over. And over. And over.
'I need a new job.'

Logic was leaning on his elbow and absent-mindedly tapping his purple jeweled necklace on the table, looking thoroughly bored, when a (rather large) man suddenly approached, asked for the price, and then, after a pause, stated he'd buy all of them. Instantly, Logic perked right up. These were all the potatoes they had right now, and if they sold out, he could get off way earlier than normal and go relax somewhere. Maybe a tavern or something.
"Usually we sell them for four shillings apiece, but seeing as how you're buying the whole lot, I'd say..." Logic had to briefly think about this, seeing as how he had eight baskets and there were around thirty potatoes to a basket, then finished, "Nine hundred shillings for about two hundred and fifty potatoes." Ah, rounding and approximation. A merchant's best friend. Or worst enemy.
As he came to this conclusion, however, Logic noticed something out of the corner of his eye, and he looked just in time to see one of the baskets sitting under the table suddenly shoot away and into the hands of a teenage girl. The instant their eyes locked, the girl's widened in fear before she abruptly turned and darted away.
"OI!" Logic shouted after her. He started to follow, but then turned to the man and said sternly, "If you try to steal anything, he'll eat you." He waved a hand at Flynn, then dashed after the girl, releasing a sleepy-looking Tavi as he went. Logic filled him in with just a few words and the Spoink instantly snapped to attention, bounding ahead of Logic to try and catch up with the thief--or at least get her into his somewhat limited psychic range.

As it was, the female thief had an Espeon on her side to do things for her like move people out of her way and into Logic's, but she didn't seem to be very good at thinking on her feet. Having spotted some guards up ahead, the girl turned into a dead-end alleyway, but Logic blocked her only exit before she could back out, and Tavi and the Espeon realized they could just cancel each others powers out and so didn't even bother. After some scolding, Logic took back the potatoes but accidentally let a few slip out of the basket and into the girl's hands with a request to steal from other people, not him. He was making his way back to his stall at a light jog with Tavi at his heels, only to find a bunch of people--his customer chief among them--trying to make off with the potatoes. The customer seemed to be threatening them with his Lilligant.
With a significant look at Tavi, Logic abruptly slipped into a nearby shop. He calmly made his way around the store, counting to ten as he did so, then exited again, returned Flynn, and called to his would-be customer, "Oi!" Without waiting for the guy to notice him, Logic tossed the basket of potatoes towards him, only to have a small but reasonably heavy pouch fall into his hand the next moment. Pleased, Logic grinned at the man, adding, "Thanks for the tip!" before abruptly turning and booking it out of there, his Spoink following faithfully behind.
"Why oh why did you goad him?" Tavi groaned telepathically as they slipped through the crowd, dodging people and trying to get behind large men and women as often as possible.
"Because I really have nothing better to do," Logic replied truthfully. He did feel like a good chase right now. Anything to take his mind off of the disturbing turn his dreams had begun to take. Well, more disturbing than usual. His predictions were always full of bad luck, but somehow these ones seemed...darker. And all of them involved his Pokémon.

Not two minutes had passed and they had already lost him.
Honestly, Logic was rather disappointed. He thought the man might have put up more of a fight than THAT. Or maybe he hadn't given chase at all, either not realizing or not caring that Tavi had taken his entire wallet. With a resigned sigh, Logic slowed his pace, rubbing the silk of the pouch. Spotting a nearby tavern, he grinned at Tavi and led the way, realizing how hungry and thirsty he was after all this running around.
He entered the tavern and slid onto one of the bar chairs, his Spoink companion easily springing up onto the one next to him. The bartender started to protest, but when he noticed the pouch of money, he immediately began to cater to Logic, asking if he could get him anything, oh we just got in a new beer, are you selling the Spoink's pearl, the usual thing that happened when someone walked in with a bunch of money. As such, within minutes, Logic had a steaming cob of roasted corn and a pile of cooked carrots and other assorted vegetables in front of him. After the first bite, he paid the man and requested a Butterfreebeer (LOL), even giving some to Tavi as he sat back and just relaxed.
He really had been looking forward to that chase, though.

Logic was just finishing off his plates of vegetables and whatnot (yes, he pretty much inhaled it) and working on his ale when a man set himself down in the stool on the other side of Tavi. For a moment, Logic didn't even look at him, thinking nothing of it, but he nearly choked on his beer when the man spoke and his voice instantly registered. Still, he quickly composed himself as he looked over at the man. He frowned slightly as the guy said that his "most expensive drink in the tavern" was going on his tab, but he simply shrugged. It was his money, after all. Quickly calculating in his head how much his meal had cost, he deducted that from nine hundred shillings and poured out some of the money from the silken pouch. He took only what was owed to him (well, actually his employer, but screw that), paid the bartender as he returned with the drink, and slid the guy's pouch back over to him.
Lifting a brow, Logic replied to the man's questions, "As you might have guessed, I'm kind of tight on money, and now I'm out of a job thanks to you and that thief." He shrugged, though, to show it was nothing and that he was kind of used to it. He did, however, leave out his name on purpose. It wasn't exactly the most common name around, and he didn't want any trouble when he left this citadel. He couldn't very well stick around now. Oh well--he was getting bored here anyway.
When the man suddenly started to pat Tavi, however, Logic immediately grabbed his wrist to stop him--
A high cliff. A tall tower set on the very edge. Restless seas. A man climbs up the cliff side. His foot slips, and he begins to fall.
Wincing, Logic released the man's wrist and returned Tavi without the Spoink's permission, which he usually asked for. "Enjoy your drink," he said flatly, pocketing his money and striding out of the tavern. He'd never gotten a prediction like that from touching a stranger. Well, almost never. Only if he was wearing his purple jewel. So why this guy?
Distracted, Logic almost didn't notice the guards and his employer until it was too late. Being the fool woman she was, his employer screeched, "THERE HE IS, THE THIEF!"
Briefly, Logic froze and looked around, but there was nowhere else to go but back. So, he turned around and darted back into the tavern with his employer and guards in pursuit. As she had been nearby when the female thief had struck and witnessed everything but didn't do a bloody thing about it (probably hoping for compensation that would be better than trying to make a burly man pay for some potatoes), the woman pointed at Reiser and shouted, "And he's stolen all my potatoes!"
There wasn't really much a choice now: Logic grabbed the back of the man's shirt and began to haul him along--a difficult task for a guy make of sticks trying to carry a bag of rocks. "Move, move! You can break down doors! And I'll tell you something about that tower!"
It was kind of stupid, but Logic really didn't want to be caught, and he really did need someone to break down doors and walls and stuff. Hopefully, the guy would just move his ass and help. Or at least escape and leave a trail of broken people in his wake for Logic to follow. Either one.
