Okay so I'm going to make this really quick and painless for everyone, so you can spend less time reading rules and more time posting your totally awesome character applications. When you register for the site, we would like for you to do so with a first, middle initial, and last name in all lowercase letters (example: james a. potter). If you forget or mess it up for whatever reason, it's cool, just PM one of the admins or talk to us in the c-box and we'll fix it for you. We do accept reservations here, so please be sure to reserve a character once you register, so we know you're sticking around to apply. Reservations last for three days here. There is a clock in the canon list, showing the time that we will be going by for the reservations. If your reservation ends on June 15th, that means you have until midnight of that day to finish your application. If there are no competitions for the character, we won't hold it against you if you post after. We have both a freestyle and traditional application. If you need some inspiration for a freestyle application, check out what other people have done for ideas or ask one of the admins. We welcome you to style it like an interview application, if that's what you're most comfortable with. Just so long as you show us a good portrayal of the character.

When posting, we're looking for good quality writing. However, we expect to see several good sized paragraphs when you post and please try to match with whoever you are posting with. We accept and completely understand that not everyone can write 1000 word posts every day, but you shouldn't reply to a several thousand word post with a few hundred. It's just not fair to the person you're threading with. We understand off days and dead muses, but please don't make falling short a regular thing. If we see that you're writing isn't meeting our standards, we'll send you a PM or some other kind of warning about it and hopefully we can get it sorted out.

We're not really picky about how many characters you have. Have ten, if you're active with all of them. It doesn't really matter to us. But please do not take another character if you aren't being active with the ones you already have. We also would like you to have characters that do not have connections with one another. For example, you probably shouldn't play Narcissa Black and Regulus Black. That's just not fair to other players who want to play a main canon. We are a canon only site, but our list is HUGE, so we're sure we can find someone for you to play. In many cases the characters first and middle name and personality is completely up to the player. If you are making multiple characters, please keep in mind our ratios before you take up another one. We don't want this entire site to be overrun by girls. So for every two girls you have, we strongly suggest you make a boy. Please try to avoid Mary Sues and Gary Stus. No one likes them, so please don't make one.

On the topic of characters, we'd like for people to make sure they are willing to commit to the site before applying for a character. Now by 'commit' I don't mean on 24/7. But showing up to the site to at least say Hi in the cbox every week so we know you still exist as a member of our site, is kind of necessary. We don't expect daily posts, or anything like that. Please though, especially if you plan on taking a major canon... make sure you are willing to be active. We'd hate to give away a popular canon to someone who isn't willing to be active on the site, while there are other people who might be more interested in doing so. Just be mindful of that please. We've come to a conclusion that if you haven't at least logged onto your character at least once a week, we're going to re-open it. Unless of course you are going to be away, and you've told the admins about it already.

Over all, we really just want everyone to have a good time. Please respect the other players and the admins, so that we can all enjoy the site. If there's an issue, please don't bring it into the c-box. Instead, send one of the admins a PM and we'll work it out from there, alright? Have fun everyone!
