Registering When registerting, you may register with your real name, or a pen name, but whichever you choose, it MUST be appropriate. No sexually explicit nor inappropriate language will be tolerated. Any account registered with a name such as this will be deleted immediately. There will be no warning issued on this matter. Your user name can be changed at any time before a piece of work is submitted by contacting any of the admin staff. Once a piece has been submitted, you will not be allowed to change your user name.

Rating Every piece of work must have a rating specified. Any work without a rating will be removed from public viewing and the author will be give three days to provide a rating. If no rating is provided, the piece will be completely removed from the site. No exceptions.

Author Submissions Once you have registered and have been placed in the proper user group, you will be allowed to start submitting your work. Please be sure to post your work in the proper category. If you accidentally post your work in the wrong place, please contact an admin immediately and we will move it for you. Please don't abuse this power! If you continuously post in the wrong area, you may be issued a warning, or may even have your posting permissions revoked.
All stories should be proof read before submission. While we understand that some typos and grammatical mistakes will be made -- we all are only human, after all -- pieces that are riddled with mistakes will be moved to the beta section automatically and you will be issued a warning. You may no longer be allowed to post new submissions without going through a beta first.

+Please note: Authors are not required to use a beta unless deemed necessary by an admin, however, if you feel that your work might need a second opinion before posting, please take advantage of the service.

Betas/Editors You may also sign up as a beta/editor. Your job will be to be available to proof-read pieces of work before they are posted to the site. Please do not sign up for this position unless you are 100% certain that you can commit to it. Once a piece is submitted to you, you will have no more than 7 days to proof the piece and reply to the author. If you do not reply within 7 days and are unable to provide a reasonable reason why, you will be issued a warning. Three warnings and you will no longer be allowed to proof works.

Plagiarism According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means
1) to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
2) to use (another's production) without crediting the source
3) to commit literary theft
4) to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

Any piece determined to be plagiarized will immediately be removed from the site and the poster of the piece will be permanently deleted and banned from the site. This is one issue the admin staff simply will not tolerate. There will be no warning, no three-strike rule, no forgiveness. We will take no prisoners on this issue. Period.

Graphics No copyrighted images may be used in your work. Think of this as the same as plagiarism. If an image used is reported to be copyrighted, the graphic containing the image will be removed. No warning will be issued for one offense, but repeated offenses may result in warning, or even possibly deletion of your account.

Member Galleries If you eventually want to have a member gallery to display your stories or your art, you will be required to provide links to your pieces in order for them to be moved into your gallery. The staff suggests that you keep a running list of links to your work within the site if your goal is to have a gallery in the future.

Videos Videos are welcome and encouraged, but links posted must be to a video that you yourself made - no links to other people's work. Again, videos must be appropriate - no sexually explicit videos, no videos that could be considered racist or harmful to anyone. Links posted to such videos will be deleted, and the poster will be issued a warning. Three warnings, and your user account will be deleted.

Avatars/Signatures Avatars and signatures are allowed and may contain any information you wish. Same goes as elsewhere - no copyrighted images may be used. You may link to any area of the board, even if it's not your story or member gallery. However, if you use a banner or avatar created by another member, you must give that member credit. Your avatar or signature will be removed if you do not do this and it is reported.

Avatars may be no larger than 125x125, and signatures may be no larger than 400x300.
