Welcome to Mystic Ista
We are an alt-pern game whose concept is basically what if Pern was Pern, but with magic? We're set at the beginning of the 9th pass, in a world without Lessa or F'lar or any of them. Let's see how Pern Survives without them.
We Feature:

Goal Based Ascension: To do things like graduate weyrlinghood or become eligible for Impression, you set yourself a number of IC goals based on the difficulty of the task. Those IC goals are small roleplaying checkpoints, such as "meet 5 people", and when you complete the required number, you complete the overarching task- such as graduate weyrlinghood. It lets you go on your own pace, and encourages roleplay.

Member Run Clutches: Although there will be staff-run official clutches, there is also the mechanic built in for members to create their own clutches. This game is planned to run on the small-clutches-more-frequently-model, with the spaces between the staff clutches (2-4 times a year) filled by member clutches.

Magic and Mutations and More Being a non-canon game, we have a magic system in place, where you have one magical character per X number of non-magical characters, dependent on the sort of magic they use. We also have mutation colors, and the potential for more.

    Sooo...as I've probably mentioned to some of you, I'm going abroad to Greece for a three month field school this fall :3 I leave Sept. 5/11 and return Nov. 29/11. That said, this is less of an actual going-away post and more of a potential slow-posting/scarcity warning, as there will be wireless available and I will have my laptop with me. [rambling below for more detail]

    I'm an archaeology student, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to be working on a real excavation, and in a lab, even if it is basically the grunt work and processing pottery <.< YAY GREEK POTTERY SHARDS! \o/ ALSO GOOD is the fact that there WILL be internet in the place where I am staying, so...I should still be around throughout this period. I will almost definitely be around slightly less than I have, because I'll be working on a dig and taking advantage of life in Greece, but I WILL be here. :3

    So yes. I figured I ought to post now so a) I don't forget and b ) you have some advance warning. I'm leaving on Sept. 5/11 and will hopefully be able to access internet by Sept. 11. The intervening week will be full of travel, so I really don't know what that will look like.

    I'll update here the day I leave, and hopefully also when I'm in Greece to let you know the situation there!

    Hello from Greece! I have an hour and a bit 'til dinner, and internet connection from Hotel #1! So, I still can't speak for the rest of the trip but I'll be able to pop in for the next day or so! I made it safely and hopefully I shall be around. So far (with the exception of something nasty I picked up from the plane uggh I hate feeling sick) so good.

    Hello again! I'm in my final apartment (!) in Greece and for the first month at least I'm going to have excellent internet connection. I got here yesterday and am pretty excited to be settling in today. How much time I'll have to use the internet is another matter entirely--things seem to be busy--but it looks like I'll be able to be around at least a little bit! So hopefully I'll catch up on posting soon <33

    JLKfdalk;fjewafdsa -and assorted other keyboard smashing and flailing. I HAVE just bought myself a ticket to Athens for tomorrow on a spur of the moment decision with friends. We're hoping to end up in Santorini for the weekend, but depending on buses and ferries and strikes and stuff we'll seeee. SO.

    I've got a tonne of stuff to get done before then, so I'm going to say that I'll be away (though hopefully able to check in occasionally) Oct. 26-Oct. 31.

    SO my semester abroad is drawing to a close D: I'm looking forward to going home and seeing my family AND being in a closer time zone to many of you lovely people, but that also means there is soon going to come a time when I will lack internet for the magics of ~travel~
    I may be able to check in on my iPod for the first day but posting will probably be (well...even more...) non existent than it has been lately.

    This is just a forewarning, but I will be more or less gone completely from Nov. 26-Nov. 29 and possibly longer depending on how jet-lagged I am XDD
