Please, do come in. And I shouldn't worry too much about treading on the carpet; it's already steeped in sand, litter and entrails as it is.

L.T.B.L, if you had not already guessed, is a horror-fantasy board revolving around the fragile co-existence between several widely varying umbrella races known as Humans, Seers, Shifters and Siren. Some are part of larger factions or families, others prefer going it alone. But for the purposes of the board, all our murderous and mysterious denizens call Bournemouth - the sea-side town of tourists, entertainment and art - their home. For the time being at least.

"Let There Be Life"

And, apparently, never stopped to think everyone might need a closer eye kept on them.

In the beginning, the Endless Ones formed the Earth and the Oceans.
Above those, they breathed the Sky, and around and into it all was fed The Flame.

The unfathomable Endless made of each of these things Creatures, whose domain was to be exclusively the element from which they were birthed. And from all these things, Man was born, and he was charged as the keeper of all else.

Their labor done, the Endless watched on as Curators of Nature and Admirers of their own Art.

However, Man thought himself greatest, favored above all others by his station. Over time he grew pompous, arrogant even, and began to abuse the beasts of land, creatures of the seas and birds of sky.

Man hunted more than he needed, and killed for sport. Land was taken disproportionate to each nation's need, fuels were burned, and the air polluted.

The Endless saw all of this and it hurt them deeply, and yet they could not bring themselves to punish their beloved Man- nor could they have any of their children - and so instead they enlisted the Lesser Gods, for they were not so kind, and being so primal in their nature, had no understanding of compassion.

The Lesser Gods summoned the Land, Sea and Air and they formed shapes that would become the Sentinels.

Filled with ten times the Flame of Man, the sentinels were a force to be reckoned with and the war that fell upon Man turned all a shameful shade of red. Bloody retribution was served to all, and fair Judgement placed on hold.

A Balance that should have always been maintained became watchword of Man, Beast, Siren and Flyer.

However, the War and it's lessons of eons ago have been forgotten. Those that should consider themselves the Children of the Sentinels have segregated, going underground and waging quiet wars between themselves.

Flyers abandoned their wings; so enamored with Man and his Civilization, now they no longer soar the skies. Their far-sight has taken the shape of Telepathy, Aura-reading and other such skills, walking on two legs alongside Man. They are serene in their ignorance, very few acknowledge any glint of their beginnings.

Beasts, the shifting race, once were Man's Warden, but like old dogs they have grown lazy and have slipped in their watching. Now they pick fights with the Sirens as well as each other, and stake out territories which they take meaningless pride in.

Sirens have changed very little, they are still as harsh and unpredictable as the Oceans they are meant to be the Guardians of, but when the tides washed with Man's blood, they too became human. Walking water and land, they encroach on the Beasts for sport and play with the minds of Men.

Man has yet to recoup his losses. His numbers are greater than ever but he will never have the bond with Nature that he did after the Creation. He has forgotten that the Sentinels ever were, that they are not just a fable, and lets himself be their unknowing plaything.. for the most part, at least.
