Welcome to Affections and Affectations

...and to Lindeboshire! The time is the last quarter of the 19th century, and the place is a fairly large English city by the name of Lindebo.
The people here, like in most cities, come in all shapes and variations.

A&A is a historical play-by-post roleplaying game for advanced to intermediate writers. If the Victorian era interests you, or if you enjoy writing realistic fiction, developing interesting characters and exploring people's differences, pretences and relations, you've come to the right place. Feel free to join and create your own storylines and plot-twists!

Okay folks. As you may or may not know, for the past 18 days, the administrator (Kris) has been visiting the moderator (me).

While she was here, we decided that the board needs some major revamping. It’s getting old and fusty, posting levels have dropped precipitously with our absence during vacation, and in general, we think the board needs a restart. We determined that the best way to do this was to literally rebuild Lindebo from the ground up. To this goal, we’ve now commenced a new board-wide event: The Great Fire of Lindebo.

The city is now in the process of being burnt down by a giant fire. It started as a result of a tanker explosion, and has now spread throughout the slums. If you want the area where your character lives to catch on fire as well, feel free to do so. You can also kill your charries to make room for others, if you want. I’ll be doing it. smile.gif

This is the thread where it all started. Feel free to consider it a multi-post thread—however, all posts in The Great Fire of Lindebo necessarily take place after your concurrently posting threads.

Mk, as I'm sure everyone's figgered out from the sudden board-revert, I was just kidding. I do that on April Fools, even more than usual. Sorry to anyone who was either 1) upset about the prank or 2) upset that we're not really burning down the city.

The thread with the fire will be moved OOC, but if you every feel like burning off a char or something and having it not count, it'll be open. I'm finding it great fun to kill people in interesting ways.

In case anyone missed it and wondered what the board looked like this year, some screenies: Upper Half. Lower Half.

The Great Fire thread is located here now.

Okay. I went through that entire scenario in a matter of minutes. I felt the full spectrum of emotions including the death of Dorian's love interest and Emma's best friend and then coming full circle around.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all I have to say.
