The scene of this rpg is set to England in the late 19th century. We have chosen to be no more specific with regards to time and place than to say sometime between 1880 and 1895 in a fictional city called Lindebo. If you need inspiration, think a nice little mixture of York and Edinburgh.

The city of Lindebo is located in the county of Lindeboshire. The area around it has belonged to the family of Earl Lindeman for several generations, but great parts of it now belongs to the queen. The Earl still has significant power, however, as he is currently the Chairman of the City Council and has been for the last five years.

Lindebo has a population of approximately 200.000 inhabitants, not counting the surrounding farmlands. Situated not far from the coast, it is a port town and has been for centuries. It is frequently visited a trade hub, exporting and importing crops and goods of a wide range. A few years back, the city was also connected to the railroad, causing it to experience an even greater traffic.

The Cathedral is Anglican. Not everyone considers themselves faithfully religious, and not everyone agree with the Anglican Church and its teachings, but it is still the main religion in the area, despite the scientific progress and ample doubt that has been caused by England's industrialisation. Of course you can also find Methodists, Evangelists and other newer movements as well.

The area is full of ancient history, and Lindebo is said to be one of the most haunted towns in all of England. Not all of its inhabitants believe the many stories, but most of them still do not speak too lightly on the matter. Everyone knows somebody who has experienced something, and so it is dealt with rather respectfully.
Note: None of this has ever been or will ever be proved in the game. Supernatural incidents are not what this rpg is about and they will not be accepted other than in the characters' imaginations.

The city’s main attraction for travelers, however, is the Lindeman Theatre, famous for its many magnificent shows and talented performers. The monumental building marks the transition from Upper Lindebo to the city centre. It was founded by a Countess three generations ago, and the city prides itself in its cultural traditions.

Kirk Street is where you can find the city's finest shops. This is Lindebo's main street and the town square is situated right in the middle. It was recently the scene of a most vicious murder crime that has shocked the entire city.

(More may be added as the game evolves. The developement of Lindebo is for everyone to take part in. Feel free to PM me any information you think is important and relevant to include in this post. wink.gif)
