Welcome to Affections and Affectations

...and to Lindeboshire! The time is the last quarter of the 19th century, and the place is a fairly large English city by the name of Lindebo.
The people here, like in most cities, come in all shapes and variations.

A&A is a historical play-by-post roleplaying game for advanced to intermediate writers. If the Victorian era interests you, or if you enjoy writing realistic fiction, developing interesting characters and exploring people's differences, pretences and relations, you've come to the right place. Feel free to join and create your own storylines and plot-twists!

The Nightstand Drawer
Does your character keep a diary or journal? Has he or she been sent or written a letter that should be in the public domain because it furthers storylines? This is where such writings are found.

City Centre & Kirk Street
The busiest part of town. This is where you can find the majority of Lindebo's buisnesses as well as the main street and the town square. Lindeborough Castle watches over the bustling city centre from a hill and the Lindebo Crown Court dominates one end of Kirk Street.

The Parks and the Cathedral
Lindebo Cathedral is surrounded by a graveyard and various lovely park areas, Kirk Park being the largest and most central. These places are desolate, surrounded by empty streets and alleyways - A nice, quiet place to take a walk.

Babington Hill and Upper Lindebo
The northwestern part of town, where the wealthiest citizens live. The majority of the gentry live in Newbourne, Adelaide, and Leversham, with Babington Hill and Waverley reserved for the grandest houses of the most wealthy and the peerage. St Philip’s Square and the Lindeman Theatre are also found here.

South Lindebo
Seven districts form South Lindebo. Newark, Furwich, Durdon, and Haverford line the riverside and are mostly warehouses, factories, and such. Chamberlain provides middle housing, Haymarket is filled with middle-class shops, and Cheapside provides housing for those of upper middle standing (although Eastcheap is a better neighborhood than Westcheap within the district).

Bramwell and Yardley Row
Bramwell and Yardley Row are two of the poorest areas in Lindebo. They are characterised by absolute poverty and destitution. Bramwell and Yardley Row are bordered by the only slightly better districts of Shropsea, Wortlethorpe, Chapel Hill, Halfax Market, Winterworth, and Littlehampton.

The Farmlands
All around Lindebo small and large farms lie, growing a variety of different crops. Also here are several small communities of people and country-houses along the coast-line.

Lindeboshire's "wilderness," a fine place for picnics, hunts, hikes or other such outdoor activites. Here are nice spots by the river and even a couple of small lakes.
