Anyone been playing any good games of late?

I've finally gotten round to playing FFXII (which I love) and FFX (Still not sure if I hate Tidus yet or not ¬_¬; )

I'm also half way through my second run of Mass Effect. If I realised how many people you ended up shooting in conversations by being renagade, I totally would have been that first time round. As it is quite amusing. =) As is shooting people in the air when you have Lift at a decent level.

Lost Odyssey is...love. The music is superb too, not that I'd expect any less of Nobuo Uematsu.

Phantom Hourglass was good, but terribly short. The temple of the sea king or whatever made me angry. I did not like that one.

I got bored of Halo 3. And GTA IV is currently sat downstairs, untouched by me.

I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Spore, Populus on the DS! And more no doubt.

I've been playing a bit of Fallen Sword lately (it's free, link in sig). That's about all, really; I've thought of pulling out Final Fantasy Tactics again, but I keep not getting around to it, and unfortunately there's no version of Warcraft II for OS X.

Mostly Breath of Fire II since it was released on the virtual console, also Guitar Hero III but I've hit a difficulty wall at the last few songs on hard mode.

Also lots of good old guitars.

FFXII and FFX. I think I will never finish those two... I'm planning on getting Persona 3 and Katamari though.

God damnit the Kefka Tower is a pain in the ass.

Also, Persona 3 and No More Heroes.

Edit: This will be the end of my social life, ever.

Just listening to that music makes be shake with glee.

In a nostlagic fury, I found myself suddenly revisiting the Sierra games of my youth....k'now what I'm talking about. King's Quest, Torin's Passage.....even Leisure Suit Larry. These were some of the first games I ever played on PC, and I remember how much they rocked my world. Actually, looking at Torin's Passage I was surprised by how much of leveL I found in it...

What struck me most, however, is how short these games are. Maybe it's just because I can still half remember how to do things, but I remember being stumped for days before, and I'm halfway through Torin in just a few hours.

It's also sad to think that whereas videogames were once a place when 2D animation had a voice, that has all but disappeared. Too bad, it would have been fun to try and get a job as an animator or designer for games like these :\

Tene has also been playing a bit of Torin's Passage. Ah, nostalgia.

Also, Shadow of the Colossus is pretty badass.

But looky! I found a cool list of indie games:

Other cool indie game studios I've run across recently are:

Actually 2D games are making a nice little comeback lately. There's Lost Winds for the Wii which is amazing, I only heard great things about Braid (I mean, the ALIL guy is doing all the art, what more can you ask for?) and that Portal flash game was lots of fun too.

Also, no one can get tired of old classics like Sunset Riders, Mega Man X and Mario 3.

Right now I'm about mid-way through Persona 3 (quite a feat, that thing is HUGE) and also slowly plowing my way through FFIV for the DS, and I'll be damned if it's not the worse voice-acting I've ever heard.

I'm also starting a new NHL 2K8 season, with little trades and free agent-signings I've managed to put together one of the best teams ever, no player on my team has an average under eighty. The first line is Kovalchuk / Modano / Kariya.
