Title: I'm back
Description: with another idea.

Madd - November 29, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
A while back, I planned on doing a crossover comic series staring Faust VIII. This idea went out the window after I couldn't find enough Faust pics and the panels I did make got erased.

After so long, I've decided to try again, this time using a different character. I've decided to use my favourite character from the Kingdom Hearts series, Zexion.

The main plot is that after Zexion's supposed 'death' (since he was 'killed' off screen, I'm taking advantage of this and sparing him), he's trained as a hired killer by Madd (a.k.a. me). The first comic is basically him being trained.

If anyone has done anything similar or exactly like this, please warn me now so I wont have to go through the trouble of making it and finding out the hard way.

Well, Shadow223 is planning on doing stuff with the Organization 13 guys, apparently he's making some progress. You may want to talk with him if you really are serious.

About this whole hired killer thing, it may be better if someone other than the author trains him. For the sake of comedy, I would reccomend a character who doesn't look like they have any combat experience. I'm also curious, are you aiming for a dark hero or an outright villain. Assassin is a bit of an odd career choice for a "good guy."

As for the training element, there's plenty of potential. First watch every sports movie you can find to get ideas. Take Rocky II for example, to build speed Rocky had to train by trying to catch a running chicken. You could poke fun at this by revealing that Zexion doesn't know not to eat the chicken when he catches it.

Hmm, I read that he was planning something involving Larxene, maybe I should check.

Well, since Zexion was a bad guy in the game, there'd still be a bit of evil in him throughout the series. However, that doesn't mean his attempts at offing a person are always gong to be successful.

Hmm, who would you suggest to be Zexion's trainer?

That chicken joke sounds pretty good. I'll give you credit for it when I put it in. I've got a few ideas of my own as well

(SPOILER)

As a final test to prove his skill, Zexion has to kill someone. A cookie to whoever can guess who.

How about the lead chick of some shojo anime? Or how about something that looks like it couldn't hurt anyone, like... *snaps fingers* Kon from Bleach :P

Madd - November 29, 2006 10:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah, and he con confess to have been behind famous killins from other animes/games (eg; president shinra's death in FF7)

Boogie Knight - November 29, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
Hmm, maybe you should be a little less ambitious with your revelations, but a pic of the mentor making a major hit and what's his name quiping, "That's Photoshop you lying son of a bitch." that could be funny.

Madd - November 29, 2006 11:48 PM (GMT)
Yes, that would be pretty damm funny. More credit going to you. I just have to wait for Shadow's response.

Boogie Knight - November 30, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
I don't think you'll have to wait long, he recently popped back up. By the way, are you doing well with finding images for characters and backgrounds? It may be obvious, but the more types of pictures and variations thereof, the more options and freedom you have. Also, do you have a program suitable for editing like Photoshop? Even if you have premium materials you can't do much if you lack the tools or don't know how to use 'em right.

Madd - November 30, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
yeah, I've got a good number of zexion sprites and pics (and I can always draw some more). I'm having a bit of dificulty finding backgrounds though.

I've got photoshop, however it's down at the moment. It may take some time to get it working again.

Boogie Knight - November 30, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
Have you ever heard of InterVideo? They got a program called DVD Copy that you could find in an electronics store, they include in the package something called WinDVD. That program allows you to take screenshots from DVDs, theoretically making your whole library of DVDs resources for images of all sorts, be it characters or backgrounds.

Depending on how you want to set up the story, you could try out what I did. For my comic I took pictures all around my hometown. Of course for certain locations it was insufficient to use pics I took, but that's where the images from DVDs came in handy.

Welcome back, Madd.

I still haven't gotten around to playing KH2 yet so I can't really say anything on this front, really. My plan is probably to rent it over a vacation and/or buy it when the price drops.

Madd - November 30, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
Thanks Gilgamesh.

Zexion doesn't appear in KH2. He appears in Chain of Memories, a GBA game that take place between 1 and 2.

The main backgrounds I'm looking for at the moment are of castle oblivion, a strange mystical place thingy (zexion is teleported and trainde here) and possibly of a bar/night club (I can handle htis one myself).

Anyone willing to help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Wear a pair of earmuffs when you get to The Little Mermaid's level.

Boogie Knight - November 30, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)
Gil's sure doing better than me, I'm still on the Tarzan stage in KH1.

Madd - December 1, 2006 03:41 AM (GMT)
I've finished KH1. And yes, I've heard of the infamous singing mini games in KHII.

This ma take a while. I just got into a work place accident and my left hand's out of commition (which is bad considering I'm left handed).

Boogie Knight - December 1, 2006 03:54 AM (GMT)
Oh snap, that sucks. Get better soon.

Madd - December 1, 2006 07:36 AM (GMT)
Thanks dude

Madd - December 7, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
forgive me for double posting, but has anyone seen shadow22? I'm still waiting for his reply.

Boogie Knight - December 7, 2006 03:54 PM (GMT)
He's been MIA for a while now, he made that one post but hasn't popped up since then.

Normally I wouldn't say this, but just go for it. I've kind of gotten the impression that Shadow223 isn't really that committed to his project. If he even bothers to put it together, it'll be a long time from now.

Shadow223 - December 9, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
Boogie your right it will be a long time form now as my hard drive fried and will be a while before I can get a new one :(
am using my local librays CPU to post right now.

Madd - December 9, 2006 10:24 PM (GMT)
Ok then. I just need some backgrounds and to get photoshop back up. Then I can get started.

Boogie Knight - December 9, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
I wasn't trying to be mean, Shadow. Did you two sort it out?

Madd - December 10, 2006 02:34 AM (GMT)
Yeah, we sort it out. Shadow was mainly going to have Axel as the main character anyway.

Boogie Knight - December 10, 2006 03:29 AM (GMT)
On the plus side, Shadow has a potential source of jokes with Axel cracking on what's his name for needing two jobs :P

Madd - December 10, 2006 04:44 AM (GMT)
And Zexion and crack on Axel for trying to kill him on CoM

No no no, that's not what I ment :P I was trying to say that I didn't intend to sound mean when I assessed the timeliness of your work.

Bloopers, huh? One thing, don't rip off the Rush Hour 2 blooper where someone calls a cell during filming. First, plenty of folks have spoofed it, second, the real humor was cause it happened for real and the pure randomness and reality of it made it so darn funny, that's something that just can't be replicated.
