Title: FF7: Last Order

Violent Dave - December 1, 2005 03:01 PM (GMT)
Well i've just seen it this after noon, and even though it's a short piece, it's very well done and goes to further explain certain plot devices that, i personally found very confusing while playing the game. The fact that the stories pretty much complete in my mind now, gives me a walm feeling.

Obviously, i wount spoil it for anyone here, but it's worth watching!

Yes; definately an awesome little anime short. I love how the characters are drawn, and it also gives a little insight on that Turks cellphone game that'll probably never come to the US. *depressed sigh*

Oh yeah, I remember reading about Last Order in EGM I think. I doubt the cell game will come Stateside, but what about Last Order?

Skyla_Doragono - December 1, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
Last Order is a special short on the FF7AC DVD. So, whenever the hell they decide to release FF7AC, it'll be on there.

Groovy. I just hope Square doesn't delay it more than they did.

I think they're delaying it so much 'cause the movie was leaked to the general public before it's official release - IE; everyone knows that wants to know about the special features on it. Which means that they have to translate the special edition too, which had a chonological account of FF7's history, as well as all the FMVs and cutscenes from the original game put together in movie format. :P

So in short, when it finally comes out in an official capacity it'll be like Pimp My DVD?

Paul Soth - December 2, 2005 03:34 AM (GMT)
That, and they're thinking of a limited theatrical release. Arthouse theaters and the like, would be my guess. That way they can get good exposure and turnout without risking a major loss on a wide release, like with Spirits Within. This is what's done with other anime films that are brought over stateside before hitting the shelves on DVD.

But to be fair, Spirits Within was an atrocity. A friend who saw AC said it was great, but I'll reserve judgement till I see it.

Master Graveheart - December 2, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
You want to talk Spirits Within? After seeing it, I was convinced that it was merely an attempt to see how they can do movies. While graphically beautiful, they realized they made one fatal error: They spent all their money on graphic design and took it out of scripting.

Boogie Knight - December 4, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
To be honest, they made it so real it almost looked fake. Remember that scene where the two leads were kissing? It's suppossed to be a passionate moment, but I was staring at the vein on the chick's hand.

I'm guessing they got a coked-up hobo to play a couple Final Fantasy games, then gave him $5 to write the script in 30 minutes.

Gatsu - December 4, 2005 02:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that's true, i mean to find a true original and beautiful work it's a rarity .
I personally don't give a fig about superior graphics if the story become only a sad panel to show us how much they have improved with computers and design, they're feeding on each other for old ideas and they're doing a distasteful mess.

It reminds me of the old rpg videogames that were much better than the newer : imagination is the supreme tool that will lead us to originality, and enjoyment will be far more inspired by a great story than how they'll dress it up.

We need a Lunar movie.

I hafta agree with -- well, practically everyone who said that Spirits Within had damn near NOTHING to do with the FF series, save for the whole lifestream theme.

And the dude named Cid

We need a Lunar movie.

Why stop there, when Xenogears is an epic anime series just waiting to be made!

And would it kill Capcom to make a Mega Man X series or movie? The original Blue Bomber has had series for both, his classic and his battle network adventures.
