With all the controversy surrounding path to 9/11 in the United States, I thought that all of you would be interested in knowing how we in the Netherlands deal with the 5th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in history.
In The Netherlands we have three public networks: Nederland 1, 2 and 3 (not difficult to remember). The public network (yes, paid for by, among other things, tax payers) number 3, spends quite some time and attention to the horrific things that happened on 9/11/01.
"9/11 night" will start at 8.30 PM:
8.30 - 10.30: Fahrenheit 9/11
10.30 - 11.35: Documentary made by Zembla (same organization that made the documentary about Ayaan Hirsi Ali which almost cost her the Dutch nationality). According to the description of the documentary: "with shocking conclusions".
11.35 - ...: Loose Change (2nd edition).
The question is: will conservatives start revolting in the Netherlands?
The answer: no of course not. People do not believe every single thing someone tells them. People are fully capable of drawing their own conclusions. There is no need to draw them for them.

In my opinion one of the best assessments of 9/11 conspiracies till now. The documentary dissects a lot of material from Loose Change with experts from amongst others the technical university of Delft and a well-known demolition expert.
Although the documentary demolishes the Loose Change movie, it maintains that there is definately a conspiracy, including prior knowledge, insider trading and the controlled demolition of WTC7.
Main conclusions :
WTC1+WTC2 : No controlled demolition WTC7 : Definately controlled demolition Insider Trading by Intelligence : True Warnings Ignored by Intelligence : True No-Plane Theory Pentagon : False

Since these documentaries were aired on Dutch television, the number of visitors of one of the Dutch 9/11 related forums increased from average 10-20 simultaneous users to average 900-1000 simultaneous users !
9/11 Truth is becoming more mainstream in The Netherlands, hear people discussing in in public transport and at work

Middelkoop -freelancer and commentator for RTL Z- himself believes that the attacks of September 11th 2001 were carried out by muslim extremists. “Some people say that Osama Bin Laden doesn’t exist. I won’t go that far. However i am convinced that the United States government knew about the attacks and placed explosives in the buildings to - after the planes hit - blow them up.”
According to Middelkoop the United States government wanted a big disaster because it would give them the oppurtunity to fight the long planned wars and thereby protect its economic superiority. According to Middelkoop, the world economy is run by a small elite surrounding the American financial markets, the CIA and the American president. “The United States attacked Iraq, in part because Saddam Hussein wanted to sell his oil in euros instead of dollars.”
From day one, alternative explanations about the events of September 11th surfaced. Especially on far-leftist websites, the idea grew that powerful industrials had something to do with the tragedy. This idea was fed when it became known that government agencies received clues about the attacks but did not respond properly. And because America wrongly stated that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
Countless websites are dedicated to the way the WTC collapsed. “Specialists say that skyscrapers can not collapse because of fire”, Middelkoop says. He points out that WTC building 7 came down even though it wasn’t hit by an airplane.
In the Netherlands, conspiracy-thinking grew after the American miljonaire Jimmy Walter spoke about it in Amsterdam. Ever since, Dutch like-minded people organise meetings. “It’s becoming mainstream”.
Middelkoop writes about these alternative theories. The Vara-show ‘Zembla’ is working on a broadcast. Maker Kees Schaap recently explained in this newspaper that he does not decline conspiracy theories per se. He too will speak at the TU (=Technical University) Delft. According to a spokesperson of the TU, the Studium Generale program is less heavy than a research project of the university staff, but it is ‘serious’ and ‘not a joke’. The students have two weeks and receive 300 euro.
