drama- the tension fills the room, the clock strikes dramatically at 12 o' clock, the plot is thickening- these are all components of the genre of drama. it includes the intensity of plot and the slight mystery of the unknown that most people yearh for. in this genre, don't forget to check your pulse, because your heart will be pounding.
history- now history doesn't sound as bad as you'd think! it's anything before the year 2000, so it could stem from an 1800s western to an 1980's teen comedy! just because it says history doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. besides, wouldn't you want to know what your character would be like in a different time period?
romance- from that very first kiss, to that very last touch, the romance genre will take your heart by storm and make you weather the trials and tribulations of love. just because it's romance doesn't mean everyone falls in love! breakups are a part of every romance as well. if you don't mind someone toying with your characters heart strings than this may be the genre for you.
sci-fi- they're heeeeere. these are things bending the natural. from the travel to space or the new genetic hybrid that is causing terror in the lab; there's life out there and we're willing to push the limits so your character can explore it.
thriller- was that a bump in the night or just your dog scruffy walking around the house- wait, you don't have a dog named scruffy. the thrillers are the stories that make you paranoid to stay at home alone. the genres are vast! stemming from zombies, homocidal maniacs and the age old vampire horrors.
