juliette marks. if one were asked to describe her, the first words to come to mind might be an old phrase. sex, drugs, rock and roll. that was pretty much her life. she worked the minimal amount necessary to scrape by during the day and partied all night. she did everyone and everything in sight and promptly after the doing, moved on to the next thing, the next guy, the next party. there was never anything special about any particular night, just a search for more excitement, more highs. maybe every once in a while she'd have a mindblowing fuck or a blissful moment of euphoria, but that was the exception, not the rule. god knew at least half the guys she'd hooked up with couldn't fuck to save their lives.

well, okay. if you asked, there might be one guy that she remembered in particular. nate something-or-other. she didn't really bother to learn their last names, and she only remembered his name because she screamed it so many times anyway. well, at least she thought so. she had also probably been stoned out of her mind, so. maybe not.

as it would happen, on this particular day nate would be brought to the forefront of her mind. after she'd finished her shoot, julie checked her phone for texts. there were several informing her of parties and one voice message from who else but nate, telling her to meet him at some hotel. always up for some headbanging, off-the-walls sex, juliette fished in the backseat of her convertible for something suitable to wear--well, un-wear. she wriggled into a mostly transparent slip and swapped her flats for stilettos, then wrapped herself in a cardigan and climbed in behind the wheel. she hit sixty in fifteen seconds and kept her foot on the pedal the whole way to the hotel, the wind whipping through her hair.

barely ten minutes later, she pushed open the door to room 269 and leaned against the door frame. hello, she murmured, glancing sideways at nate from under her lashes. long time no see.
