Don't watch many Chelsea games so haven't really seen his overall play - just his goals. 12 goals in 13 is pretty damn good. If he can get 25+ league goals, he'd be in contention.
We're still very early on in the season. Even if we're judging the best player 'right now', we need more games to be able to compare better. Think he could be the best striker in England though.

totally agree, with Syn's proviso that "right now" is really just a form thing
but I do think, in general, that he is woefully underrated. He makes Torres and Villa look like poo-poo heads. (With KK's proviso that only when he can be assed to.)

Drogba is the best striker in the world for my money and probably has been in terms of consistency for the last 3 seasons. He's had his patches off form when he's been sulking, diving etc... but they're very few and far between these days.
By far and away Chelsea's most important player, interesting to see how they cope when he's gone in Jan. Along with Essien and Mikel.
