| QUOTE | Mathieu Flamini says he left Arsenal and Wenger "on good terms"
Mathieu Flamini has insisted he still has a “very good relationship” with Arsene Wenger, despite his acrimonious departure from Arsenal last year. No hard feelings: former Arsenal player Mathieu Flamini has no axe to grind with
The French international left the Emirates in May, turning down a reported £55,000-a-week contract to join AC Milan on a free transfer.
After insisting the club would not be forced into breaking their strict wage cap, Wenger was left “disappointed” by the midfielder’s decision to go and publicly suggested it was motivated by money. Arsenal reject Lassana Diarra attacks former manager Arsene Wenger Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger taught me nothing says Lassana DiarraIn his first interview since leaving Arsenal, Flamini, 25, told the BBC: “For me, I left on good terms. I don’t want to comment on what Arsene said. He has to say something to the fans and I don’t want to say anymore. I’ve been back to London to visit them. In February I went to the training ground to see everyone and even with Arsene I still have a very good relationship.
“Arsenal are in my heart and they will be in my heart forever. I will always be an Arsenal fan and leaving was not easy. I miss my team-mates. I’m very happy at Milan but after four years at Arsenal we had very strong partnerships and it’s normal to miss your team-mates. Thankfully I’m still in contact with them all because they’re still very important to me.”
Flamini joined Arsenal in 2004 but did not become an integral member of the team until last season, when he forged an impressive midfield partnership with Cesc Fabregas. He has made 24 first-team appearances since his move to Carlo Ancelloti’s Milan – the other club close to his heart.
He said: “I supported Milan since I was very young so people must understand it is very special for me to play for this club. My objectives are simple. I want to win the Champions League. I came here because Milan used to win it often. I want to make this happen so much. I also want to win the Scudetto and become one of the top players of Milan. I will work very hard and do everything I can to achieve these aims."
Asked if he would consider a move back to England, the Frenchman added: "I can't say because I'm here and I'm enjoying every day of my life. I'm having so much fun playing for this team so it's difficult to say. We'll see, you never know." |
I personally don't really care what he says tbh, I think he got too greedy and wanted to leave anyway.

Didn't he say he supported Juventus a couple months before he moved to Milan?
Don't think it was all about the money, as Milan are a far more prestigious club than us, but I do think he was short sighted. If he stayed with us and kept up his performances, he could have become a club legend and maybe even captain, whereas at Milan he is backup.

I do think he used us as a "stepping stone"

I remember the same, but who knows how reliable that report is. Safest to simply believe what he says here in his quote, I guess.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nal/8010235.stmBetter interview with the BBC. Video too. His Dad is Italian, his parents live in Rome, so it made sense. He now speaks Italian, and he said its made him closer with his Italian relatives because they can communicate properly now. He also said that he had offers from Spain which paid better so it wasn't all about money. Good luck to him, but I blame the parents. If they weren't so Italian, we'd have a decent CM partnership at the start of the season.

His replacement is about 10,000 times better than him though, and is godly, so we got the best out of the deal.

He has only made 1 appearance this season for a struggling Milan side and he was sent of in it I believe. I'm sure he's regretting the day he ever decided to leave the Arsenal. No chance of a return either with the emergence of Prince Alexandre Song. Flamini

that's bollox he's had 8 starts and 4 sub appearances(ot ouf 15 cl and league matches) for them this season..got sent-off once. not exactly the first name on the team-sheet and he's not playing as much as last season, but still getting plenty of playing time and lots of money..hardly a situation

Flamini is Milan's 3rd most important player after Pato and Nesta.
That may not be true.
