btw, once there was a posting on redcafe, showing that berbatov averages more tackles, interceptions etc than Rooney, so I think that part of Rooney's play is somewhat overrated

I doubt it, but would be interesting.

But yeh, i doubt it.

Although it would just prove my point about Berbatov not being lazy at United. But i doubt it.

It's true. I remember the thread. It was about 2/3 of the way through last season, and the stats were definitive, AND this was a season where Rooney was playing a fair amount, effectively, as a midfielder.

Rooney is obviously a super player, very effective, but he gets more credit than he merits for his workrate. There's something of the "trier" in him, that s'ralex identified so disparagingly in Tevez. (Brilliant btw hahaha.gif)

It's ironic that certain british football fans are so lazy in their analysis as to uncritically equate the superficial signs of workrate with actual effectiveness in things like winning and keeping the ball.

Also, I've seen Rooney with his shirt off after more than one game, and he's not fat. He's fricking chiseled. It's just his puffy face and beady eyes and receding hairline (what an ugly, ugly man) that give the impression that he is.

he's fat for a footballer...I'm in better shape then him and I sit behind a desk most of the day.

Threads like this. So called "miserable threads".

Of course you knew what I was referring to anyway....

I reply to all the threads for the most part, so not much of an observation, is it?

Arshavin has a beer gut but can play professional football. Rooney may not look athletic on first sight, but he could run all day. He may look fat (doubt about that as well), but he isn't (the clubs do those muscle-fat tests all the time, I bet).

Like Nayan says, the people who call him fat know he obviously isnt, it just makes them feel better for some reason.

They feel better for not earning millions for having well-co-ordinated feet?

I still think he should be referred to a Andrey Michelin though.
Or maybe Pilsbury.

Why not just say them in this thread if they're so important to your argument shrug.gif

Might be just the 'lazy bitch' thing resurfacing I suppose...

It's not important, the conversation's been done for the most part.

But you were the one to bring up something that you couldnt be bothered to actually talk about.

Now that, i dont understand.
