YOU ARE REQUIRED TO READ THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING:

0. You can only start role playing after you have been sorted and your profile has been accepted.

1. Role plays should be in third person, also, do NOT post one or two worders, it bores other people. Try and make your posts four lines. Always, or at least try really hard to have an action in your post, and please, we don't want the place flooded in one liners.

1 1/2. (Shut up. xD Needed to put this here) THERE WILL BE NO 1337 speak, or AOL Speak IN THE RPG. This is an RPG, not an AOL conversation. This includes: LOL, WTF, B 4, b/c, U, cos..you know what I am talking about.

2. If your character is pureblood he/she will not know about muggle items, and electric things do NOT work in Hogwarts. This includes CD players, clocks (digital), recording tapes/cds, CDs, iPods, Laptops, and anything used to plug up, or has any sort of "Wire" connections. People caught RPing with these things are going to be warned. Do it again, and you will LOSE your RP prevlidges.

3. NO NO NO Godmoding! This means you CANNOT take someone's character, create emotions for them, or cause any harm to them. They are NOT your character. You may have permission from the original creator if he allows you. ASK FIRST before you take action.

4. Respect your fellow Role-Players while speaking in OOC (Out of Character). You may NOT have personal "OOC" battles with people while RPing. Take it up with the person in a private message or other messaging systems. NOT in an RP, or BOTH are likely to be punished.

5. Your character is ONLY allowed one or two special powers. These powers are listed below:

Animagus- Having the ability to change into ONE animal electively.
Parsletounge- The ability to speak with snakes and others with the ability. (RARE. Kept to a minimum)
Innate-Occlumency- the art of magically defending the mind against external penetration. This means you can block thought-prying and the influence of people taking advantage of you, using a spell to make you numb to yourself.
Innate-Legilimency- is the ability to extract emotions and memories from another person's mind. (RARE. Kept to a minimum)
Werewolf- Though it's not thought as an "ability" it still qualifies as a power. These, of course, are kept to a minimum, due to the fact we've had about a dozen werewolves prowling Golden Hogwarts. You are NOT born a werewolf. You are BITTEN to become one.

Here are some powers you CANNOT have:

Wandless Magic- This was a rather recent issue I crashed in to. Wandless Magic is NOT the same as non-verbal magic. Non-Verbal Magic is used with a wand. Wandless magic is when you use powers without wand or whatever. Dumbledore can do it. You cannot.

Element Powers: Summoning Storms, fire, water...whatever Captain Planet's superheros could do. It's just...totally unlikely. This includes summoning Bambi and Bahamut from Final Fantasy games.

Animal-People: No animal tails, animal ears, or anything awkward like that. Sorry. We like to keep it normal.

Veela: This breed of people is now not allowed in Golden Hogwarts. Too many gorgeous people are burning the eyes of the wicked. No, just kidding, but there are no veelas allowed. No half-veela, or thirds, or anything. ESTABLISHED in 2006

Mermaids: No. They don't walk on land. Sorry.

Having Animaguses that are Fantasy Animals: This means Unicorns, Dragons, Hippogryphs, Pheonixes, pixies, blah. You know what animal is fantasy. biggrin.gif I mean, you read the HP books, right?

Remember, ONE or TWO powers. That is ALL.

6. You are allowed any pet within reason, so no dangerous magical creatures or ANY magical creatures, water animals, and exotic animals (this includes tigers, llamas, bears, chickens, blah. Be logical) Remember you are sleeping in a dorm with other people. If you are unsure if the pet you want is allowed PM Celia, Professor Ravenclaw, or Professor Umdolmir, and we will answer that FOR you.

7. Make sure to buy your things! You can't run around naked, or without a wand (or one of the Death Eaters/bullies will get ya!). And, you CANNOT play quidditch WITHOUT a broom. So go buy one if you are interested.

8. Prefects are chosen by durability, strength, willingness, and the ability to stay online to keep things in order. It's a job The Responsible are able to handle. If you decide to reside from your prefect post, please report to the Headmistress's Office. That is, you have to RP it out. wink.gif

9. Teachers and Headmasters have the right to strip you from your Prefect Position if you decide to act foolish. This would be excessive pranking, following along with the bad crowd, or abusing the ability by giving too many detentions.

10. Off-topic posting:
When posting of character, put OOC or use the (( MESSAGE HERE)) signs. If you do not do this, people will confuse YOU with your character.
Second, don't post stupid OOC messages; people don't want to read whole pages of that... it just annoys them. And Us. We will punish those who decide to do it constantly.

11. NO HUGE CLAIMS.
I cannot expess how much we LOATHE people who claim the unbelievable.

Examples are:

Voldemort's Son/daughter/aunt/uncle/relative. His relatives are unaware that Voldemort IS related to them at all. Also, he didn't go about getting busy with anyone. He was out for power. So no, we will not accept any of that nonsense.

Dumbledore son/daughter/aunt/uncle/relative. Because it's just so unlikely. The chances of that man making offspring is little to none. Just think about it. Ew.

Becoming a Death Eater at the age of 2, or anything under the age of 16. Only because children (or young teens) are too young to make a clear shot, or have any experience with advanced spells. Or a wand. Or themselves. We don't need sad stories about how you were forced to become a Death Eater. Either you do like him, or not. There is no "HE FORCED ME AND I SAID YES", because he looks for LOYAL people. He will not stoop so low to where he forces people over. Got me?
Is related to the Potter Family: NO. NO NO NO NONONONONOONNONONOOOOO. We don't need another "poor me" story. No, Lily and James did NOT have a daughter, another son, or hermaphrodite. Okay? You are not his uncle, because he only has Venon. You are not a godmother or father, because there WAS no godmother, and the godfather was Sirius. Just, NO. You can be friends, but not a girlfriend, boyfriend (oh god), or anything like that. smile.gif Thanks.

Draco: Again, no.
Sirius: No.
Anyone in the book other than a few "off-character" characters: no.

12. It is forbidden to carry weapons apart from your wand around the school. You are allowed to own swords, knives and so on, but it is forbidden to use them, or to take them out of your dormitory. Anyone seen carrying a weapon around will be punished. Both in RP and by Admin/mods.
Excessive amounts of duels outside of the chamber is also frowned upon.

13. SEXUAL CONTENT IS NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT ALLOWED.
The Love Tower is NOT a sex house. It is a time to talk to the person you are really close to. Again, it is NOT an open bed. We've had a few problems with this in the past, and it's something we do not need EVER again.
