it is december. the aftermath of the bomb (or exploding man, depending how 'in the know' you are) has started to dawn on the citizens of new york, and clean-up work has just begun.
very cold. in most places, the temperature is below zero degrees. snow lies everywhere, and gets thicker and thicker with every day, and harsh winds make the winter even colder.
a memorial service is being held in three weeks to remember all of the unfortunate heroes that lost their lives to the bomb blast killing over half the population of new york. will any heroes or villains make an appearance?

Alethea pulled out her journal from its hiding place and began to leaf through the pages. One of her special dreams, from about a week ago, had shown her that today she would be meeting somebody. She had to check the book, just to make sure. She didnt know any specifics, she wasnt that good with her dreams yet, just that shed be at the park, sometime in the afternoon, on the swing. When a nice girl with bright hair the colour of fire (she wasnt exaggerating this time it really did look like that) would talk to her. Alethia started to feel exited. She would finally carry out one of her dreams. Alethea had never been able to get to the places she was supposed to be since she was so young. But that never stopped her from trying. The park was close by, a place she could easily get to. This was her only chance. Allie! School! School. Right. Well, she would be meeting this girl in the afternoon. And after school was the same as the afternoon anyway, right? She just hoped the school day would go by quickly; she was just so exited and couldnt imagine waiting for it to end, even though it hadnt even started yet. Like Alethea had expected school had been long. Very long. So she grabbed her coat, not bothering to put it on, slung her bag, a pink and black Beatles bag of course, on her shoulder and ran to the park, her Mary Janes tapping on the sidewalk as she went. Alethea got to the park only to find it was practically empty despite school just ending. Was she too early? Or too late? She sighed and walked over to the swing set, setting her bag against one of the supports and sitting down on the swing right where she had seen herself sit a week ago in her dream. It was so weird. She realised how cold she was and finally put on her coat. Well as long as Im here, she thought looking around the park I might as well play on the swing. And she began to swing. Even with the thought of being late for the fire-haired girl Alethea was still exited. She was exited because that girl was one of the special people, people in her dreams that were different; but for reasons she couldnt quite figure out. At least, not until the girl gets here... She thought. And kept on swinging.
Woot. My very first actual roleplay post here AND the start of a thread at that. I'm proud of myself lol Hope it's good enough, I was constantly worrying about the length.

hayley walked to the park in a short sleaved shirt and no hoodie or jacket of somekind even though there was a strong cold wind outside. some snow still remained on the ground, for crying out loud. and there was all of new york where she could go but the park was probably the only place she felt like herself. the park and the ice cream shop and ofcourse, it was too cold for the icecream shop, but it was open for a reason. nothing could stop her from getting icecream any time soon. maybe after her visit to the park. her fire-colored hair flew clearly and wildly in the wind.
as she reached the park she showed a sly smile. noone was there, (and that's not why she was smiling. the park was a childhood memory. all her good memories were here, yet some of her bad memories were here as well.) atleast that's what she thought until she spotted a little girl on the swings. all she wanted to do was walk up to her and say hi with a big smile, but what if she would be afraid of her and run away or something. hayley looked down at the thought then suddenly looked up. she walked over to the monkey bars, climbed up and sat on top of them. maybe the little girl would walk over to her with a big smile and say hi.
as she sat ontop of the monkey bars, she suddenly forgot about the little girl sitting not too far away from her. she remembered the time she met a girl who had the same ability as her. hayley was about 12. the girl, whos name was sam, died a few days after she met her. one of the good, and on of the bad memories she remembers the most. it still affects her til this day. to loose someone she felt closest to...only a few days after they began to actually know eachother. sam was a good person for hayley. a good role model. too bad she didnt live long enough to help hayley get through the rest of her life. the thought of sam made hayley sad and mad. if only she could see her one more time.

Back, squeek, forwards, squeek, back, squeek, forwards, squeek, back--
There she was!
The girl Alethea was waiting to see was walking into the park. She was suddenly aware of the fact that she had no idea what to do. Should she say something? Do something? Try to get the girls attention?
The girl smiled. Did she know they were going to meet today too? Was that what made her special? Apparently not because she walked away and sat on the monkey bars. Alethea sighed. She wished she could just get up and walk over to the girl but that wasnt what happened in her dream. What did happen anyways? She thought, trying to remember specifically what had happened. All she could remember was talking, which she figured would have to start happening eventually...
...Back, squeek, forwards, squeek, back, squeek, forwards, squeek...
It was now or never. Alethea stopped the swing, nearly flying off in the process, and turned to the girl on the monkey bars, who looked kind of sad, and said the first thing that came to her mind:
Arent you cold?

while hayley was dazing out in her sad past she was gladly interuppted by a little girl asking her if she was cold. she laughed a bit and smiled at her. she looked down at her clothes. she wouldve been cold if she cared enough. but she wasn't going to say that to a little girl. hayley didnt even notice her walking up to her from the swings. "wow....i didnt see you there." she giggled. "ummm....kind of." the wind blew in her hair. "it doesnt bother me really." she hopped off the monkey bars. "ive never seen you around here. im hayley. hayley williams. what's your name?" she asked.
hayley had to hardly look down at alethea. being 5 feet was a funny fact about hayley.
(sorry its so short)

(No worries. Mine is short too xD Oh, and Alethea was actually still sitting on the swing...Guess I should have written that better... ) The girl had started to talk to Alethea. She seemed nice. Apparently she wasnt cold and her name was Hayley. Ive never seen you around here. Im Hayley. Hayley Williams. Whats your name? Hayley asked. Im Alethea. She smiled. I usually only come to the park on the weekends with my grandparents, which is probably why you havent seen me before. I came today because I needed to meet you. She wanted to say, but knew she shouldn't. They were talking...But what should she talk about ? Was there anything they could possibly have in common? She looked around and spotted her bag where she had left it by the swing. Oh, I like the Beatles! Theyre the best! My mom and dad used to listen to them and they played their songs for me all the time, which is how I know about them. Ah the Beatles, a subject Alethea could talk about forever. Even if the other person wasnt listening. I have all my parents CDs cause my grandma let me keep them. I was listening to one this moring, actually...What about you? Alethea asked, remembering to let Hayley talk. A one-sided Beatles conversation was not supposed to happen. At least, not today. Maybe tomorrow... What do you like?

"Oh my gosh....I love the Beatles." Hayley said. She seemed just as happy to talk about them as Alethea was, which was good, very good.
"I have never met a little girl who would pretty much love the Beatles. They're my heroes, I mean...Anyone who loves music loves the Beatles." Alethea smiled, despite just being called a "little girl". She was ten, after all. Still a kid, but not little.
She smiled because what Hayley said reminded her of her parents, who loved music. And just about everything else, for that matter. She had developed that very same love in what little time she had spent with them, and it grew even more so as she tried to stay close to them.
"What's your favorite song? Mine's Strawberry Fields....Or Sargent Pepper's lonely hearts club band." "I love 'While my guitar gently weeps'. But I don't have a favourite, really. There are just too many good songs!" Alethea giggled.
Hayley walked over to the swing where Alethea was sitting just moments ago and sat down. Alethea realised Hayley wanted her to sit down too, so she did, swaying back and forth slightly on the swing. Hayley started to talk about stuff she liked, Alethea nodded. "How about you?"
"Uhm..." Alethea paused. "Besides the Beatles I like drawing in my journal, stuffed animals and fairies and stuff....I love my dogs too, I have two of them named Lucy and Benny. I decided to call them that 'cause of my--" Parents. They were named after my parents because they had both wanted a dog...But they waited until I was old enough... Tears started forming in Alethea's eyes, she blinked them away quickly, hoping Hayley didn't see. She didn't want someone she just met to see her cry. She didn't want anyone to see her cry.
Alethea realised she had stopped talking. "I love my dogs. They run around like crazy, but only when they're outside. It's like they know we'd be mad at them if they ran in the house or something." She laughed. "And Lucy hates 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' even though that's her name...I would've thought she'd love it you know?" Alethea stopped there, searching Hayley's face, wondering what she was thinking...

(Haha they have an ad for the Beatles at the bottom of the page. ) Alethea didn't really say much, and neither did Hayley. But there was so much going on, despite the silence. Alethea's head was spinning with thoughts. Is she here to help me? I wish I knew what I'm supposed to do... She looked over at Hayley. She's the only one who's going to tell me anything. So I guess I'd have to tell her about my dream eventually... But what if that's not the reason I'm supposed to meet her? What if I ruin everything by telling her?"Hayley, can I ask you something?" Alethea was surprised, and scared, by what she had just let out of her mouth. She'd have to tell Hayley something... "If I told you something really, really weird," She started. A vague question was better than no question at all... "Would you still..." She thought of saying "Still be my friend." But were they friends? Could they be friends? "Still sit and swing and talk to me? Or would you go away?" The question didn't really say much, and yet, it said a lot at the same time. There was no turning back now that she said that...But...Maybe that was a good thing... (Sorry it's short. I couldn't really write much without being able to write what Hayley does too...If that makes any sense.)

(yeah i get you. it's okay, trust me. i actually love this thread. its the most rping ive done with a person in a long time haha. ) hayley continued to swing back and forth on the swing, enjoying the time. the silence was a bit awkward at first but it didnt even bother her that much. she was having a nice time with alethea. alehtea reminded her of some of her old friends she had when she was a kid, some she had before she turned all....evil? it would seem to make hayley mad or sad, but surprisingly it didnt. not one bit. then alethea broke the silence and hayley listened closely. she certainly wasnt going to miss one minute of this.
when alethea asked hayley all that she did, hayley was strangely surprised. she smiled. "ofcourse ill stay here and swing with you." she paused for a second, looking away. "ill always be your friend, no matter what you ask me." she smiled even more and looked back at alethea. i guess they were friends after all. it was not at all bad but then hayley began to think. 'is she going to ask me what i think she is. something really weird...hmmm.....gosh i wish i knew.' "i won't go away." she promised. she nodded at alethea. "yeah...so shoot." she said, finally letting alethea speak.
at this point hayley promised herself she wouldnt lie to aleteha. if she asked her something, shed answer truthfully, even though a neutral didnt always tell the truth, alethea was a special exception. shes ten for crying out loud. hayley couldnt lie to someone who was going to be taller than her one day...even though that was pretty much everybody. but alethea was different. she could tell and hayley began to think alethea knew that she herself was different.

"Of course I'll stay here and swing with you...I'll always be your friend, no matter what you ask me. I won't go away." Hayley's words were reassuring; she even said they were friends! Alethea hadn't had a friend in a long time... "Yeah...So shoot."
"Okay..." Alethea sighed. "I don't really know how to say this..." Then she remembered her dream journal, she had brought it with her today, instead of leaving it at home in its hiding place, because her grandparents had someone coming in to clean the house. She took the book out of the bag and rested it in her lap. She looked over to Hayley, but only for a second before flipping through the pages.
She found the drawing of Hayley and pushed the journal closer so she could see.
"I came to the park today because of this...I had a dream that I would meet you at this park today and I need to know why...Because a while ago I had a dream that my parents--That my parents...Died. And then it happened. And ever since then I've been having dreams about people I know, and people I don't, like you, and I just want to understand why it's happening, and I thought you might be able to help me...It felt that way in the dream too, actually..." Alethea realised. She stopped, letting Hayley take this all in.
So... Alethea paused. Can you help me? Please?
