Title: I played a game of Sudden Strike Forever online...

Metal - October 18, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
Ver1.21 4vs4

I had to dust off the old CD's...

I really missed playing that game, there are still some old timers around in the gamespy room.

Anyway, was feeling nostalgic so I came back here to see my old mates, we used to share the love of that game. :haxor:

Hello there.

:)

Actually...no!
I was playing against (well one of them anyway) an old clanmate USF Deathstalker.
Was really funny, my section of front was really loose, I drove two full jeeps of men into the rear of them and also, 2 field guns, 30 men (approx) a couple tanks and some trucks. I planted myself in a little round glob (like an caravan of wagons in injun territory) and sat there laying mines, then when the time was right I sprung out and grabbed a baloon or two, was great!

Yeah and so is 2010! I've been watching its progress, a bit slow.

Great mate great. The wife and I just got back from a 2.5 week vacation to the states. We visited San Fran, where I met some blokes from a forum I visit, waiofftopic.com, then we hired a car and went to the Napa valley (love wine) then off to Yosemite, Sequoia, Las Vegas and then into LA.

Vegas was freakin amazing, been a long time since I was there, I can tell you going there at 32 was a bloody awsome experience.
I gained 2.5kg in 2.5 weeks! The food was massive everywhere we went!

Still looks like legomen and a mockery of the old Sudden Strike. Sudden Strike was probably the best multiplayer experience I ever had besides Team Fortress, and now Fireglow is just grabbing at straws. Here's an idea: Instead of scripted events, why not make a functioning A.I?

easier said then done :)

night and day difference between the two.

A.i. has a bad habit of rushing... so most times a.i. is more fake then scripted events.

Except in 2nd mannassas, that AI is brilliant.

And this sudden strike will be cool. If it comes out before 2015 that is.

looks gay and the infantry looks like playmobil

Yankee - October 28, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
Wow, those textures look horrific. It resembles a bad version of C&C Generals.

Gabriel - October 28, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
the graphics look 3 years out of date. And judging by the way they have been going at it, it's doubtful the fixed the horrible interface and controls.

I wouldn't matter if I was planning on buying it or not because it seems that it has no release date for NA. But, no I'm not planning on buying sudden suck 3, or sudden strike 3 for that matter.

von erik - October 30, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
Rock&Roll. :bananna:

Botto - October 30, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah it looks like crap. The cartoon infantry are stupid and I'm sure the units are just as retarded as in the other ones.

No Marders, two versions of the Sherman, four versions of generic "Panzer" tank after all these years and they still give us only these limited selection of retextured units. Pathetic

von erik - October 31, 2007 03:52 PM (GMT)
Bunch of spoiled brads. Every sudden strike needed mods thusfar, this one will be no different.
It will be cool damnit.

I think it looks cool.
Had a look over the latest batch of screenshots today.
Looks like some large maps, and i read that there can be HUGE maps.

Units look nice enough for me, terrain etc is fine.
Infantry look a little on the chubby side but kind of cute.

It looks as though one can have interconnecting infantry trenches and weapons pits, i sure hope so and about bloody time too!

Main concerns for me are:

1) Smoke rounds and flamethrowers must be in the game.

2) Needs to have the tank commander's hatch open/close and crewed vehicles.
I did not see this in any screenshot. Best feature of Sodden Smack that.

3) Needs a squad system, single soldier system is rubbish.

4) Trenches that can be moved along by infantry

5) Easily moddable interface (which it has)

6) Needs to be LUA script, or i have to learn new stuff. -_-
