Right! Green Maerwynn is rising! Get any Male up, up, up! She's gonna have some fun up here!
There will be a small clutch once this is over, so, the quicker this is over the sooner we get babies! Even a very small ammount!

IC
The herdbeast sighed, body shifting as it barely moved to reach a spot of grass in front of it, teeth ripping the grass from the ground a moment later. The sun was out, spring was in full swing and the grass was sweet. HE had nothing to worry about. Whether or not the creature even had the brain power to think about the future was unsure. They managed to remember basic commands, but if they could worry about the furture, no one knew. This one wasn't worried at all. The hulking form moved forwards, breath snorting from his nose. The sun was warm, the grass was sweat - and suddenly everyone was moving forwards, pushing him ahead and making the poor beast bleat in terror that wasn't really his, but the whole heard. All because of a small Green flitt.

Maerwynn screeched as she swerved around a beast, wings folding as she dipped between legs and through horns. Her dark hide stood out against the lighter Spring grass, her small, agile form easily visible to all that watched her. The thing that stood out the most however were her bright red eyes, swirling with a vibrant mix of every shade. She rose! Her forgiving nature vanished to be replaced with a calculating eye, a want for perfection. Her maw opened and released a loud, piercing screech, teeth flashing in the sun. Chase! Chase and win her, mind and soul. Be afraid though, simple males, she was going to lead them on a merry dance, her hide mattered not.

Vox was a very, very simple-minded creature. In general, the blue flit’s life revolved around food, food, and, if he was lucky, more food. Life with C’ren had been very good for the firelizard and it showed on his physique, being more round than was considered ‘normal’ for a blue. Currently, Vox was lying stretched out on C’ren’s sleeping furs, perfectly happy with such a simple life. After a nap, the blue planned, he was going to go down to the kitchens and see if he could beg some scraps off of the workers there. And then, after that, he’d try to…

His eyes snapped open and, suddenly, he was very, very alert. Something important was happening somewhere, and he had to be there. He felt a hunger that had absolutely nothing to do with food for once. Without a thought to his personal safety----like most males, he completely forgot about such things once it became clear that he actually had a chance in the world of love----Vox launched himself into the air. And then he very nearly fell to the ground again. Thankfully, he remembered to spread his wings properly at the last minute and he soared out to the beastpens. And there was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen…

No, not the herdbeast. The little green behind the herdbeast. Vox whistled at her----it seemed to be another male trait that transcended species----and attempted to impress her. His hide truly was a beautiful thing, a gorgeous bright blue that made most people want to squint. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind the chubbiness. Just more of him to love!

Sienna, dozing on the warm hide of Fukuith, his person’s green dragon, opened one eye lazily as screeches and whistles pierced the air. The emotions the little green and her blue chaser where putting out, however, swiftly caught up with him. He hummed a short note, flipping his head on his neck, craning as if he could actually see the flight, which, of course, he couldn’t. With a whistle and a chirp, he leapt from Fukuith’s back and flashed between.

Appearing from between with a gust of cold air from his wings, trumpeting a challenge to both the eye-bright blue and the dark green beauty who flared her wings and showed her agility in a invitation to chase. Sienna would chase, and he would win! The lithe brown was both more enduring than the blue and more agile, with less of him to maneuver. Nuri kept him slim. The brown flit winged to a place behind the green, calling complements in typical flit fashion, as a series of images and emotions. His eyes whirled bright purple as he twisted, dived and climbed after the green. He was best! He would prove it!

For a moment she was lonely, not a single male in sight and she growled her displeasure. Where were they? Of course, they could arrive any minute, but those that had dared to arrive even minutes after her call, were they worthy of her attention? She was a proud creature, and she wasn't going to wait for them. Her wing beats carried her forwards, eyes flashing a swirling mass of red as she hissed at the hulking 'beasts. Maerwynn wasn't happy. Her males should be here by now, strong males who were willing to follow her through this tunnel of legs and hooves that she spun and turned through, wings folding and dipping to carry her out of the way.

Ah, the piercing whistle that hit the air made her head snap to the side, the sight of the Blue making her croon, eyes half closing as she dipped a wing and moved around completely on that wing tip. Finally! She crooned, she had been getting bored waiting for him! Why had he taken to long? She cipped under his bright blue hide, spinning onto her back to allow her claws to graze his belly. She should not have had to wait. Her sharp, dissaproving whistle answered his own, taking in his chubby appearance as she flipped from side to side, mocking his own agility. He was not the best example of a Blue, but he seemed nice.

But of course, another male appeared, Brown hide shining in the sun. His challenge made her snarl, eyes flashing. He challeneged not only her first chaser, but her herself? Was this beast simply too arrogant for his hide? She climbed higher, now zipping over the backs of the herdbeast. She kenw they were behind her. The series of flashing images of lovely things, colours and strings of emotion didn't serve to impress her. Suddenly she flared her wings, coming to a halt in mid-air she stayed hanging there for a few heartbeats before dropping. Her head twisted as she refused to open her wings once more, onlt doing so once she was level with knees and hooves. How dare that Brown! She snapped at him, a snarl his only answer as she shook her head to get rid of the distractions he kept sending her. Did he want her dead? Distracted by stupid images as she flew around the stampeding animals? No! Then stop what he was doing at once! She was not a Gold, but this was her flight, and she could force her chaser out if they dind't please her. This Brown had been late, he should feel guilty instead of prideful.

Her croon sounded as she flipped around legs and flailing hooves. Chase her, catch her, win her. None of them would touch her unless she let them, not in this forest of limbs. A nip at yet another beats sent them all off, her own form flashing in between them. Chase males, chase! See if they can find her in this dangerous jungle! The Brown was slim enough to master this, if he lept his wits about him. But the Blue had to show more wit then the Brown, his he was at a disadvantage. Her wings slowed, almost lazily flapping as she chose the slowest of legs. Give the Blue leadway, let him show his worth. And if the Brown showed his own she might pick up the pace. She had shown Sienna her disaprovel, let him not catch it again.

At the green’s disapproving whistle, Vox immediately looked ashamed. But he didn’t leave. Couldn’t leave, actually, not until this was over and done with. He had always been willing to let others push him aside----if they had enough strength, that is----but not today. This was his day. Well, technically, it was the green’s day, but Vox was determined to share it. And there was a lot of him to be determined. The normally even-tempered firelizard glared at the newly-joined brown, bristling at him. Oh, yes. He knew the brown was more likely to win and that just made him angry. He had gotten here first!

The herdbeast were a problem. Even Vox could see that. Just one stray kick and he---or any other flit here---- would be little more than a pile of broken bones and an interesting-looking stain. He hovered over the herd for a while before he dived in, chasing after that speck of green amongst the browns and whites. Vox was far from the fastest, but he had heart. Several times he almost collided with leg or hoof or cowface, but he was determined. Any beast that got in his way got a sharp nip, unless he thought the beast was pointed in the direction of the small green. His wings snapped as he made his way through the moving maze. It wasn’t skillful. It was more like a show of power. He was not afraid of them.

Or, at least, not afraid of them enough to not take stupid risks for the pretty little green.

As a beast tried to kick her from it's path, she screeched, body curving and twisting to shoot away from it and out of the path, but into the path of another. No! Her cry was bitter now as she was forced to climb higher, to scale the side of the creature that had tried to kill her, and to put her chasers into the easy path. This would not do at all. She wanted them to prove themselves, to fight for her, to show their worth, though the Brown seemed to have little of the latter. Her choice would be made in the forest of hooves and legs that would test any fire-lizards' worth, not just her chasers but her own. In some odd way she was showing them just how god she was, how good a choice they'd made to chase her. After all, she alone deserved their attentions.

Bt she had to go back down before she could continue to test them. Soaring high over the heads of the beasts for a oment, she slid over the back of one, back into the dark forest below, away from the canopy. Where were her chaser? Her head turned behind her to se the blue form of Vox, and she looked carefully at him before she cooed at the Blue, slipping out of the tangled mass of hooves and legs to admire him with whistles and cliks that told him how wonderful he was, how handsome, how brilliant. He alone was the most wonderful male of the two, the best, the bravest. He alone would be worthy of her. Green hide aside, she was Queen this day, her and only her. No gold with it's petty screeching and complaints was going to take her male away. Not now, not after she'd chosen.

She picked the right moment, slipping back into the tangle of legs to coo and try to nudge him out of the way of the beasts, pushing him where there were no beasts, hopefully. And then, with a resounding purr, she coiled her tail with his and genting let herself glide.

The flight was over and done, the winner chosen, and the Green happy.
