The sun was high in the sky dominating the few clouds that were out. The crisp spring air had return again after a long winter. The snow that was on the ground was slowly melting, but not fast enough for some. Sophia hated the cold; why did she have to be Weyrwoman here of all places? Fire Stone Weyr. It saved her from her blasted life as a drudge and helped her meet her beautiful lifemate, Nalith. The gold seemed to get more agitated in the last few days and insisted that Sophia bathed her this morning in the cold crisp air. Sophia didn’t mind washing Nalith, but the Cold! Washing the golden dragon didn’t usually take long, Nalith wasn’t the largest gold on Pern. Nalith didn’t like that fact even though she always insisted that her hide was the far greatest in all of Pern.
Sophia was standing besides the cool Lake Vespers with sweetsand in her hand. Nalith who was in the cold waters dipped her head under. Nalith swam around a little before coming back to Sophia and saying, “You can wash me now.” Sophia just shook her head and smiled. “You know, Nalith, you can go twelve hours without bathing.” Nalith ignored the comment and stood where Sophia could reach her. Sophia took the sweetsand and began to wash her dragon. Sophia shivered as she walked deeper into the waters to get all of Nalith. Nalith who usually noticed her lifemate’s condition was too preoccupied by her own thoughts. Sophia recognized Nalith’s restlessness and asked, “Something troubling you?” Nalith’s eyes whirled a rainbow of colors as she stood staring into the late morning sky. Sophia took a step back in the water from her dragon as strong emotions came rushing within her. She recalled the feel from months before when Nalith rose. Nalith not answering Sophia’s question walked out of the water and then took to the skies to the Herdbeast corral. Hunger was overwhelming her. Splashed with water from Nalith’s wet hide, Sophia blinked at the rush of shining gold that just passed her and shouted mentally, “BLOOD ONLY! A dragon as fine as you must not be weight down by meat. Blood only!” Sophia pulled herself together and walked out of the lake to find that she was soaked. Sophia would have shivered uncontrollably but the feelings of Nalith’s lust and passion filled her being with warmth. Nalith was already upon her kill biting them ever so carefully so as not to get blood on her maw. Even in her lust-filled hunger, Nalith would not ruin her golden hide. Two more beasts were slain before a loud bugle pierced the quiet morning air. Nalith’s eyes whirled a lustful violet as she called out to all the males of Five Stone Weyr. Try and Catch me if you Dare. Your Queen has risen! With another bugle, Nalith took flight; the beat of her wings cracking through the wind. Her goldenrod hide shone like a second sun in the sky as she waited for her males. |

Nalith Rises! Cradeth exclaimed, his head shooting up from where is rested on his fore legs. The bronze's eyes were tinged purple at the edges, as he stood up onto all fours, and turned around with full intent on leaving to participate in the Flight. He had to anyway, if he wanted ce'rel to stay as weyrleader of Five Stone. She Rises, and I Chase, Cradeth continued in a primitive way. The great bronze dropped out of the entrance to the weyr, and a moment later he was seen rising upward, gaining altitude.
Ce'rel blinked, a bit on the slow side as he had a bad night's sleep. It was almost noon, and already the young weyrleader was tired and half-sleep. "Uh.. what?" he muttered, looking up over the top of the scroll he was attempting to read. Then it dawned on him. Again, Gold Nalith was Rising, taking to the sky in a daring aerial acrobat, to challenge her suitors and pick the best one. "Ah!" Ce'rel tossed the scroll onto his desk, not bothering to put it away neatly. He ran out the door of the weyr, through the tunnels and passageways of Five Stone, to the open weyr bowl, where Nalith was making her kills in the herdbeast corral. Ce'rel spotted Cradeth nearby, perched on a ledge of the weyr bowl, his eyes watching Nalith with lust. He certainly was determined to win this Flight. Cradeth was the first bronze there, and others followed him to fly in and land on the ledges, or on the ground close to the feeding gold. Nalith shone with a radiance that was her own. Sure, she was clean from a recent bath, Ce'rel deducted, but she also glowed with the signal of a dragon ready to Fly. He had been weyrleader for five turns now, and Sophia, Nalith's rider, had been weyrwoman for two turns. They did have some kind of relationship, but nothing so strong that would utterly confirm that Cradeth would win the Flight. Ce'rel's bronze was a top choice though, if Nalith didn't consider any of the other bronzes that landed. "Cradeth, remember what I said, and use it to your advantage!" Ce'rel coached his bronze. I know, I will watch the others, and I will be careful when flying. I can monitor myself, but I cannot monitor you. Cradeth warned, telling Ce'rel not to get carried away. With that, Cradeth turned his attention to Nalith, who was feeding on her last herdbeast, and would be flying into the sky soon. Cradeth wanted to be the first one after her, showing that he was ready and on his toes. And when she did take off, Cradeth was a split-second behind her, his eyes now a pure purple. Nalith, brilliant gold, why wait for the others? The best choice is your bronze Cradeth! |

The shirtless man in lake soaked breeches had just finished putting the last touches on the massive bronze's oiling job, chuckling when Jerandith slipped up on his back legs to examine the brassy gleam of his entire form. The rumble of satisfaction that the bronze emitted was like thunder, and the great eyes gleamed with pleasure and affection as he lowered himself to press his head against his rider in gratitude. A'syr simply grinned, stroking the eyeridge in the rare show of love for his dragon, tugging at him mercilessly. No woman, no desire was greater than the love he had for this great beast, which the thickly muscled man patted heavily along the neck.
"Now you can stop complaining at me so much, you beast." Indeed. Jerandith's eyes whirled happily, as he stretched a wingtip to look at the paler streaks of tiger-like bronze on his wing membranes thoughtfully. You did well. Jerandith angled his head to peer at the sky expectantly, working his way to his feet almost slowly. A'syr was busying himself with gathering the leftover supplies that came with bathing the massive creature when the rumble came again. "What now?" Forget the supplies. We shall send anotherto fetch them. There is more to do. "What do you mean mo-" A'syr blinked, cut off when the furious roars lifted over the treetops. Jerandith lay in the sand smoothly, offering his back and allowing his rider to climb him hastily, pulling his shirt and jacket on without thinking, hands flying to buckle him within. He had not missed the amethyst gleam in Jerandith's jeweled eyes, and slapped his mount in signal that he was ready. Jerandith lifted away from the earth powerfully, thick muscles rippling underneath the glaringly clean hide. Even A'syr, used to his bronze's antics, had to grit his teeth against the unusually heavy forces that Jerandith's speed lent, sighing when the bronze pulled down to the other side of the lake and alloweing his rider to jump bodily from dragon to land. A'syr watched Jerandith descend for a moment to crash upon three herdbeasts at a time, using his tremendous size so that none would know what had hit them. The gleaming eyes darkened as he filled with blood, a lighter more sustaining meal than his usual, and when he snaked his glorious neck to look upward at the queen, Jerandith's call echoed painfully across the stone walls. A'syr knew the battle to come and slipped back to lean against a tree, nodding at the queenrider and readying himself for the flight... He'd be close enough to the other men should it come to protecting her, but not too close. He knew his combative nature, knew it well. He was likely to harm someone if they crossed any line he'd made, no matter how minor, and flightlust upped his temperament simply by adding a beautiful woman. He was larger than most of the men here, and he couldn't tell through Jerandith's hazy visions if they were those that knew to stay clear or not. If so, his reputation preceded him. He did, however, kneel evenly when Sophia got near him. As highly as he thought of himself, he knew what she was to him. Queen. Ever changing and ever beautiful. He was in her debt, and as a dragonrider, always would be. Jerandith was having a similarly humble moment, and as he pumped his bronze body and oddly patterned wings, mused privately to the golden star that struck the sky. Nalith... my queen. I fly for you because it is my heart that you speak to. Your beauty is my will. Your strength is my desire. And I will battle for you until my body disappears between with the effort of it! You are the jewel of Pern. My life for you. Twisting to pull headlong with the other males, Jerandith hissed softly, feeling with his body what he was searching for... There! The downdraft from her slipstream tugged at him, and he fell too it, using the force to slip a safe distance under the queen before slamming into the air jet that the others stirred, shooting just slightly ahead of her and opening his wings wide. Presenting all of himself to her glory, Jerandith twinkled from his fresh scrubbing, the light of their hides playing off one another and making him a luminant star, with the sliced of pale and dark on the blanket of his wingsails stretched before her. A quick half barrel roll presented her with his underside briefly, but long enough for her to take in the healthy muscling, and his elegant proportions as he crooned to drop back with the other males. All of me, is yours, my queen. |

M'ler was sitting with Nerenth, relaxing, enjoying the mild spring weather. M'ler had just started to enjoy the weather, when...
She rises! Nerenth exclaimed, wasting no time on further explanation as he leaped into the air and chased after his queen. M'ler sighed. He knew this would come...someday, that Nerenth would someday chase. He was determined not to let lust rule his every action. It was up to Nerenth, though... You are more beautiful than any green, Nalith... the bronze mused. Whom do you think yourself worthy of? Maybe it is bronze Nerenth, the best of them all... M'ler had a problem, as he felt the lust take over his mind. How should he not embarrass himself in front of the Weyrwoman and acting Weyrleader? How, exactly? He didn't really have any wish to become the Weyrleader or anything. Meanwhile, in the air, Nerenth pulled even with the queen. The darker bronze on his wingtips and his tail forks stood out amongst the other bronze shades and the gleaming gold. Gah, M'ler thought unhappily. His thoughts were too dragon-controlled for much else. |

T'lar sighed, hands running over straps as he tried to clean them. His latest flight with Mistrath had taken them somewhat below ground level. The lake in fact had been rather warmer then he had expected, but still far from warm. He sighed again and pushed still damp hair from his face. His gaze wandered over to the Bronze sitting on the ledge. The Bronze had offered no warning to the dive and had stayed under the water far longer then was safe for T'lar. But the dragon seemed indifferent. As usual. His gaze stayed on Mistrath, as if hoping for some sort of apology. None came. He sighed and went back to sorting out the harness his dragon may have ruined.
A rumbling growl had him falling off his chair. T'lar gasped and looked up at his Bronze. Mistrath, who had previously been laying down, was now standing, tail lashing out behind him as he snarled at the sky. His eyes were a swirling mix of red and purple. T'lar gasped and ran towards him, a cry on his lips before the great, hulking dragon turned and pinned him to the ground with a large paw. She...Is...MINE! To long have I waited! T'lar gasped as the weight was suddenly gone from his chest and he was left gasping on the floor, unable to think straight as wave after wave of lust hit him. That was why he had dunked them both in the lake. And why he had eaten so throughly before hand. Mistrath roared, launching himself into the sky with a great beat of his wings. She would not escape him this time! She would not dare! He would catch her, she would be his! T'lar stood, one hand blindly groping for the wall as he stumbled forwards. He had to find the Weyrwoman, Mistrath would have him for supper if he did not. He struggled to walk out of his Weyr, leaning on the wall as he went. Mistrath was angry, so angry! And he so dearly wanted the Gold which must be in the skies right now for him to act like this. She had already escaped his clutches once, Cradeth catching her instead. T'lar had nothing against the man or his dragon; but Mistrath did. He saw the last loss as a blow to his pride, a blow to his strength. The Bronze was not a fan of being put down, even by another Bronze in an even chase. He would rather cheat. Not that he could of course. He cried out in despari as he leaned against the door frame to the Weyrwomans Weyr. She was not here! No! MIstrath would kill him unless he found her! Mistrath rorared again, eyes swirling that odd mix of red and purple. His maw was drawn back in a snarl, white fangs glistening. His hide shone, greenish bronze appearing almost of a moss colour and the darker tip of his tail, front right leg and chest appeared an almost black bronze everytime his back faced the sun. This Gold, this beauty, this Queen of the skies, she had escaped him once, oh yes. But today she would be his. He would not let her escape! Forget her other suitors, her current mate. She would be his! His bellow touched the air around him once more before he soared towards her, swooping under first suitor. Cradeth. Mistrath snarled at him before taking note of the other two. Pathetic. Only three had touched the skies for this Gold. Nerenth and Jerandith saoring alongside the Queen's current mate. But they would not be the ones to catch her. No! She was his! His alone! T'lar stumbled down the steps, gasping for breath as he ran outside. Drudges glanced his way, kitchen staff and others that lived here but he payed them no mind. Mistrath would be furious if he did not find the Gold's rider! He gasped as the cool air hit him, his gaze turning fuzzy with each and every thought from his dragon. Mistrath was serious. Flashes of dragon hide whizzed past him in the corner of his eye, Gold and Bronze caught by the sun. There. Lake. Three poeple already there. He stumbled towards her, nearly falling over as his dragon sent wave after wave of drgonlust at him, each thought seemingly amplified by the anger Mistrath was also feeling. He reached the lake, gasping slightly though the majority of his breathing was under control. He nodded to the other two there. Taking a shaky breath he bowed to the Weyrwoman, managing a shaky "Weyrwoman" in greeting before stepping backwards. He did not want to be too close. If Mistrath failed...A roraing filled his mind and he was sent to his knees, hands grasping at his head. I will not fail! To long has she evaded me! No more! No longer! Mistrath roared once again, louder, angrier then before. No. Before was just to state that he would win this chase, that he would ctahc the Gold torphy in the skies. They were his greeting and his warning. This was his challenge. His eyes flashed, more purple then red now. His great wings carried him higher. The stupid brute Nerenth had no chance, words like that were childish and petty. No. Mistrath would win this chase! You are mine fair Gold! Taunting Gold, beautiful Gold. You will be mine! His words were crooning, keening and snarling all at once, gaining in volume on the last tone. He shot past the others, a slipstream of air carrying up up even as his wings beat to cast his forwards, for a moment be blocked the sun before he swept down and under her. A growl ripped from his throat. She was his. |

(( sorry for lateness and shortness... I'm new at this.. >_<))
Nalith was above the Weyr; her hide shining like a new radiant sun. Waiting until the real challenge began, her suitors came to the sky one by one. Cradeth was first, then Jerandith, next Nerenth, and finally Mistrath. Her suitors had come and she was ready. A loud bugle was released as Nalith took off like a bullet. Her suitors tried to coax her with their words, but mere words would not catch a Queen. Nalith flew higher and higher trying to weed out the weak ones. Then into the clouds, twisting and turning every which way. The one to catch her had to be strong, clever, and must endure. Sophia on the ground was wrapped up in Nalith’s emotions that ran strong this morning. She turned her head to acknowledge the bronzes’ riders. The Weyrleader, Ce'rel, then A'syr, M’ler, and T'lar. She knew them all, but her vision was getting blurry and her head started to pound. Sophia closed her eyes and felt the cool spring breeze on her face. Even though the flight had just begun, she wanted it over soon. Sophia disliked the feeling of not being in control over herself. |

M'ler gave a feeble wave in recognition of Sophia's acknowledgment. He was afraid if he did anything else then he would end up doing something very embarrassing with Sophia.
An image of him doing that embarrassing thing with Sophia entered his mind. He blinked, sure that he'd won the Flight, then glared up at the bronze. /You, Nerenth, will pay for that./ He thought he heard the equivalent of a draconic chuckle. So it was he who'd sent that image. Hmph. He'd moved closer to Sophia. He self-consciously scooted his way back to where he was sitting before. "Nice day, Sophia..." he said feebly to the Weyrwoman. He was trying, desperately trying, not to cross any lines. But Nerenth's emotions were strong, and it was hard, and growing harder by the second. He closed his eyes as Nerenth began to take over his mind. Suddenly he was pelted with a feeling of lustful longing. /Nerenth, stop it. This is not funny. If you want to make me look bad in front of Nalith's rider then you are an evil bronze./ What was I doing? The bronze sounded surprised. Probably playing. /You know what you were doing, putting lewd images in my mind. Stop it./ But that is what you will do with Sophia if I win, and I will. M'ler sighed. This was going to be a long Flight. He would see who won. Maybe him, who knew? Nerenth snorted inwardly at his rider's reserve. He would do that with Nalith's rider if he won--and he would--so what was the point of denying it? His eyes were a mating violet, but a tender violet. He sent a feeling of love and happiness toward Nalith, hoping she would heed his gentle summons and choose him as the rightful winner of this Flight. Oh...no... M'ler thought weakly. Why...Nerenth...chase... He finally put his head between his legs and made it stay there. Why did the lust have to be so strong? Nerenth did an acrobatic maneuver in midair, twirling on a darker wingtip, then doing something with his legs and wings that brought him farther than a single wingbeat ought. Would that be enough to impress Nalith? If it was not, then... He did a backflip, did that odd thing again, and that stroke brought him even closer to Nalith. M'ler yelped. What was he doing? /Nerenth, stop it. You are just going overboard trying to impress Nalith!/ The bronze replied, Is that not what this flight is for? For Nalith, so she can lay eggs to increase the dragons of Five Stone? M'ler sighed. /Sure, Nerenth. Just don't embarrass me along the way./ |

Mistrath growled, eyes flashing a bright mix of both red and violet, making his eyes eem like swirling glaxies, bright and alarmingly angry for one chasing. She had not even acknowledged him! She would not ignore him any longer! He snarled, roaring his challenge to those that followed her as she rose higher and higher. Where ever she went, he would follow, he would have her; she was his! She twisted amoung the clouds, Golden hide standing out strongly. She would not hide in wisps of water, she would be caught by him and him alone. He snarled at her, not bothering with fancy tricks as his powerful wings sent him barrelling towards her, staying as close as he could and snarling at those that got near her.
T'lar whimpered quietly, hands clinging to the sides of his head. No, no! He did not want this, but Mistrath would chase. He couldn't stop that, he couldn't order his dragon to do anything. BUt the anger that was ripping through his mind was making him see red, aking his sight go blurry and making his head hurt. Never mind the flightlust that was slowly consuming him, or that he would be terribly embarrassed once this was over; Wingleader laying on the florr whimpering, bah. Mistrath would throw a fit. He would kill him. But his head hurt! |

With a roar, Nalith took to the sky, and Cradeth craned his neck to watch, giving the large Queen a chance to size up her possible suitors. However, it wasn't a long wait. There would be no second-guessing here! Cradeth, along with the three other bronzes of Jerandith, Nerenth, and Mistrath bringing up the rear. But that didn't last long. Nerenth pulled ahead for a moment, performing a complex twirl in the air; a clear intent of impressing the gold. Mistrath, on the other hand, didn't bother with impression by skills, but rather pure speed and will that he demonstrated by forging ahead to claim a close spot by Nalith.
And Cradeth hung back, evaluating the situation. Mistrath didn't seem like letting up at any time, and Nerenth was showing off. Cradeth kept a level head, but urged his wings to send him further forward and faster as well. Letting out a low growl that rumbled deeply in his throat, Cradeth closed in on Mistrath, determined to beat the opposing bronze yet again. Nalith was Cradeth’s, and only Cradeth’s! Though he was large, like a bronze dragon was expected to be, Cradeth showed off a certain grace that was performed by those put under challenging conditions--he lingered in the backdraft of Mistrath, then propelled himself ahead of the particularly aggressive bronze, to swoop in close under the shining gold Nalith. Nalith, my dearest beauty, Cradeth crooned, You know I am the best choice; why do you contemplate the others? Only your Cradeth is worthy of this radiant sun. Will you not fly to the ends of the land, across the seas? I will fly that far for you. Cradeth, still in Nalith’s shadow, angled his body so that he could stare into Nalith’s swirling purple eyes, with his own violet orbs. Though he wasn’t winged, Ce’rel felt like he was flying, such was the bond between him and Cradeth. He felt his dragon’s will and lust to catch the golden queen, and Ce’rel deflected these feelings onto Sophia. The weyrleader acknowledged Sophia’s gaze, and took the risk of scooting closer to the young woman. Ce’rel burned with desire, but still felt silly about himself.. At least, until those last moments where he completely lost himself as Cradeth fell deeper into primitive instincts of Chase. |

Nerenth rumbled unhappily, deep in his throat. So Cradeth was looking like competition, hm? He'd soon rid the opposing bronze of any thoughts of competition.
Nalith, I will follow you between, even if it should mean my death. I will follow you to places unknown, but hoped for. I will follow you to the Red Star if you wish it. I will be yours forever, Nalith...if only you will be mine. He sent more tender thoughts toward the shining queen ahead, hoping she would accept his quiet summons to be his. M'ler was in a predicament. With his dragon making pretty speeches toward the senior queen, what was he to do to stop the embarrassment that was sure to come if he did not win? He was a Wingsecond, for Faranth's sakes. What was that pretty female greenrider's name? Sinesse, was it? Yes, Sinesse. In the back of his mind, M'ler scolded himself. He should know the names of the riders in his wing. If Nerenth failed, and his emotions still ran high, he could try to catch Tallith, Sinesse's green, in flight. A feeling of indignation from Nerenth accompanied these thoughts. Clearly he was not happy with the thought of chasing a green when his queen lay ahead of him. So close, yet so far... Nerenth turned his attention to the other bronzes. Cradeth was using subtle tactics. He snorted. Subtlety would not win a queen. Mistrath was using brute force. Now that bronze had no brains. Jerandith was the most like him in the way he tried to impress Nalith. He beat his wings with the added energy the flight lust gave him. No more acrobatics. It was time to Chase. |

((Okay! This is the final post before Nalith finally chooses; so make your last post a good one!))
Nalith dodged clouds and twisted between them. All the while, Mistrath flew below her keeping up with her. Nalith took this to be a challenge not impressing; Nalith’s eyes still clouded with violet even though her anger was rising. Nerenth showed off doing twists and turns, but mere acrobatics would not catch Her! Neither would just brute strength! Cradeth flew under her and Nalith noticed his whirling lustful eyes as he spoke to her gently. Nerenth then did the same going one step farther, but Nalith still held strong flying with the wind. Determined to find the one who could catch her, Nalith shot straight to the ground. Her suitors, if they were dragon enough, would follow. Nalith was not faltering in any way and the one who could or would catch her, the radiant sun, could not either. Nalith was high in the sky, but was dropping fast. Fire Stone Weyr’s last queen would die if she did not pull up, but Nalith being stubborn as ever flew faster to the solid ground. Sophia’s head was pounding and her vision was almost gone. She felt Nalith’s determination to find her suitor, but Sophia’s gaze shot upwards just as Nalith decided what she was going to do. “No..” Sophia whispered; her own voice sounding foreign to her. Nalith was plummeting to the ground and if Nalith didn’t decide; she would die. ((...Please don't kill your dragon... That would be great.)) |

~Nerenth won't die~
Nerenth followed Nalith. Folding his wings, plummeting like a stone, he dove after the queen, so close, yet so far... /Nerenth!/ M'ler yelled mentally. /Stop!/ Nerenth would have paused, but the primal mating urge was too strong. Nalith, my queen, let Nerenth break your fall. I will follow you to death, as I said. M'ler moaned. He really meant it. He would die. /Nerenth, don't do this. Do I mean anything to you?/ His voice was less than the merest of mental whispers. Of course, Mine. Nalith is ahead, so I chase. Plummeting farther, farther downward, the bronze continued on his obstinate path, almost a bronze blur as he dropped after the gold blur. /No,/ M'ler breathed mentally and vocally, his voice sounding strange. Images of Nerenth flashed through his mind: a large white egg cracking, a huge bronze head searching, his whirling eyes locking on M'ler's... Above all was the thought of the bond they shared, deeper than anything imaginable... And if Nerenth died, then he would become an empty shell of the rider he had once been. No good for anything but menial work, his eyes forever empty and void, his mind forever filled with pain... Nerenth kept going, his eyes and mind fixed on the gold ahead. She was his...if she would accept him. |

Lovely Nalith, what are you doing? Cradeth asked in a rhetorical way as his determined eyes watched the golden dragon rise up, stall brilliantly in the air, her hind gleaming as it reflected the sunlight, then she dived. Cradeth continued to fly straight for a bit as the queen flew down past him, with Nerenth in tow. But this bronze dragon of the weyrleader wasn't going to give up. Cradeth followed suit and angled his wings, his body rounding out a delicate curve in midair as he traced the actions of Nalith. Nalith, Golden Nalith, why do you act in this way? Why take your life, as well as Yours' life? Much like a weyr cannot survive without dragons to protect it, I cannot live on without you!
Coax her.. Ease her.. Flattery is your best friend.. Ce'rel chanted in his mind, repeating the words over and over again as he had done for the other Flights Cradeth participated in. It had become a sort of ritual and tradition, but by no means did it guarantee that Cradeth would Catch the dragon. It didn't hurt though. Cradeth folded his wings tighter against his body, increasing his speed and momentum, along with his burning desire to Catch the Queen before she hit the ground that was so quickly rushing up to meet them. Cradeth! the Weyrleader exclaimed, suddenly more aware of the fact that the dragons were now plummeting to their demise. It's not worth it! Or was it? Ce'rel hardly knew the girl that stood before him in a violet-tinted haze. They had only been weyrleader and weyrwoman for a few Turns at the most. He couldn't think straight.. Not with a dragon pulling his own self away from himself, in an attempt to Catch the golden Nalith. Yet, was it feelings that Ce'rel had for Sophia? Did he really feel an attachment for the young gold rider? The bronze took this thought, and ran, or rather flew, with it. My dear Nalith, if you will not choose one of us bronze, then choose for Yours. Here, Cradeth stretched the truth in an effort to win over Nalith at the last second. Surely Yours has an affection for Mine, as does Mine love Yours. Choose wisely, darling, dazzling, dare-devil of a gold. Faintly realizing what Cradeth was saying, Ce'rel resisted. "Cradeth!" he yelled instead of mentally speaking, "Why?" Ce'rel, the normally cheerful and ever playful Ce'rel, grasped at his head, seemingly trying to rid his mind of the burning truth that Cradeth relayed to the gold. Yes, it dawned on the leader, yes, he did love Sophia. But would that love be diminished if Nalith were to choose another dragon over Cradeth? Something nagged at his mind, forcing his feet to move and take Ce'rel's unwilling body closer and closer to Sophia. "Sophia.." he whispered unknowingly, but lovingly. |

Mistrtah snarled at the Bronze that dared to chase her closer then him, dared to attempt to accept his challenge. Cradeth. That stupid Bronze would not win, not ahgain. Mistrath would not that that pathetic creature catch his prize, his world, his Queen. No one would have her but him, because he was the only one worthy of her. Too long had he waited patiently for her. She was now his! He snarled again, nearly roaring and growling all in one rumbling noise that erupted from his throat like lava from a volcano. This was what he ahd been waiting for, and she was the prize for this glorious chase, and he would have her.
His gaze flickerd, going upwards to watched the Queen and putting on a surge of power to go udnerneath her. Only for her to stall in mind-air and fall, fall, fall. He roared, twisting and flipping, for one moment barrel rolling with his wings pinned to his side as he dived after her. She was his, always his. He knew he could die, but he wasn't going to let Cradeth get her. She was his! He roared, reaching for her, maw pulled back in a snarl. He would dive, the ground can go between. T'lar nearly cried out, shaking his head as he kneeled on the ground. No! No, pull out, pull out! He didn't care about being Weyrleader, he didn't care about winning. But that thougth sent a flash of burning red through his mind. He gasped, leaning forwards even more. Mistrath wasn't even bothering with words anymore, he was sending colours and intense feelings, much like a fire-lizard. T'lar whimpered. This had better be over quick. |

As Nalith flew to the ground, time seemed to slow down. Her senses heightened but her muscles were tiring; the flight was long and none of her suitors faltered. She would have to choose soon and the sooner the better since the ground was coming up fast. Sophia could barely breathe watching her lifemate fall to the ground. The riders around her felt the same as she did; she wanted Nalith to choose not die.
Nalith’s violet orbs looked back on the three bronzes and saw the one who would be hers. He was there the whole time and Nalith had been impractical for not choosing earlier. Nalith stretched out her wings so to stop her descent to the ground. The sire of her clutch, the one who would catch her was not far behind her. Nalith crooned as the bronze came to her. “Cradeth” She crooned wrapping her tail with his. He would be hers and she would be his. Sophia looked up to Ce’rel who had come closer to her and whispered her name. She smiled; the flight was finally over and Ce’rel would be still Weyrleader, but that’s not why she smiled. Sophia held out her hand for Ce’rel so they could go somewhere private. (( XD Thank you for bearing with me for so long but yes the flight is finally over and the Hatching will be soon! Great posting; I had a hard time deciding >_< Congratulations!)) |
