General Information
    Name: Doc
    Gender: Male
    Species: Dwarf
    Homeworld: Germany
Film: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Physical Characteristics
    Height: 3'7
    Eyes: Brown
Hair/Fur: Doc is bald with a snowy white short beard. He keeps his beard neatly groomed and trimmed.
Age: He's lost count after so many birthdays. Dwarfs live for a very long time and Doc's very certain he's passed fifty or maybe over a hundred, but one is never too old to be young!

    Description:

Doc stands as straight as possible to try to create an illusion that he's not as short as he is. Being one of the shortest of the dwarfs and one of the chubbier (though Happy takes the prize on that), Doc finds it important to look his best at all times. He favors maroon and orange tunics with comfortable brown pants. His caps are brown or tan. To complete his look, Doc wears a pair of glasses that sit comfortably on his nose. He is as well groomed as possible, though that doesn't include always being washed-up. Since meeting Snow White, he does remind himself to have a good scrubbing after work. His face is kind and suggests there is a bit of age to the dwarf. When he smiles, there are large dimples present.

    Personality:

Doc is the self-appointed and very pompous leader of the Seven Dwarfs. He's taken it upon himself to march in front when none had asked him to, but no one argued when he took lead, either. He is protective and fatherly, sometimes to the point of smothering, but he always means well. He is gentle, kind, and considerate towards others.

Always willing to lend an ear, Doc will sit down and listen to someone's side before passing judgement. He can be a very warm person, though very nervous and cautious when it comes to others safety and well-being. He'll stutter and trip over his words when placed on the spot, and will giggle when embarrassed. When provoked, Doc can be quite the fighter and let his temper fly. Though his words can't match his fists, he's never a match for Grumpy.

    History:

Doc had lived with the Seven Dwarfs for many years. They had traveled some before coming to settle in the cottage near the jeweled hills and the Seven Falls. They (or perhaps it was just Doc) seemed to have a habit of finding things. It was a nice home, so they settled down and took up work in the nearby mines, as they were rich with gems. Doc took to appraising the diamonds immediately and trying to teach Dopey the art.

Of course, being very busy with the mine and coming home very late, the cottage was filthy by the time the dwarfs came home. Exhausted and unwilling to clean as most bachelors are want, they fell into this pattern for many more years. One night, after returning home from a rather exhausting day, Doc saw a light on in the cottage. Smoke was coming from the chimney. Someone was already inside the house. How was that possible when all seven had gone to work that day?

Doc led the thorough investigation of the house and soon placed Dopey in charge of the first look upstairs, due to the belief that some magic trickery was afoot. When Dopey came fleeing from the room, Doc and the other dwarfs believed there was a dark being asleep in their beds. Low and behold, it was a beautiful princess; Snow White. Without a heart to even wake the princess, the leader wanted to let her sleep peacefully. Perhaps it was due to the commotion made by Grumpy, Snow White awoke and the seven introduced themselves.

After hearing Snow White's story and hearing of her cooking skills, Doc was more convinced to let Snow White stay in the cottage. The others shared his sentiments (Grumpy did so grudgingly) and so Snow White stayed. They soon became very close to the princess. On the way to the mines, Doc would warn her to be careful, for the queen was likely still looking for her.

While only having just arrived at the mines one morning, the animals from the forest had followed the dwarfs. Something was irritating them and they were pulling the dwarfs back in the direction of home. Even Doc in his wisdom as leader could not understand what was scaring the birds into pulling at his beard and shirt until Sleepy suggested something so simple; the Queen had found Snow White! With help from the deer to transport them, the dwarfs were able to find the transformed Grimhilde fleeing the cottage in time to drive her to her death. It was too late to save poor, sweet Snow White.

Doc felt as if he failed the princess as she had not heeded his warnings. He mourned along with his brothers that night. Trying to be the strongest, he was Dopey's shoulder and held him close. It was a night that each of them felt very broken and it was one not soon forgotten. Too distraught to bury her, the dwarfs fashioned a beautiful glass coffin and kept vigil by Snow White. One day, a prince arrived. Allowing the prince to see their princess, he placed a kiss upon her lips.

    She awoke.

Realizing it was the prince she had sang of once before, Doc happily wished Snow White farewell. His heart was heavy. He'd miss her dearly, even though he knew they would be invited to visit.

"Do you suppose that is why Doc took to wearing glasses in the first place? Perhaps so; no one can be sure, but one thing is positive, it was because of them that the other dwarfs gave him the nickname of Doc. Without them he might have had an ordinary name like John or William."

Other:Doc is my favorite dwarf. When I was three years old, I decided I was going to use him as my role model in life. I was very jealous of Dopey for having what I felt was the best parent/sibling when I couldn't even have one sister in my life. :) Hah.

QUOTE
Doc wasn't the most fond of days off. He liked having control of the lines, the examination of the gems, and the guidance of the mine carts. Yet once in a while, Happy and Bashful would nudge him and remind him of how hard he had been toiling at his work desk. In earnest, the dwarf really thought it meant he was starting to lose his temper more often and needed a chance to breathe before he yelled at Dopey. It wasn't certain why Doc was more hot under his collar these days, but it was happening. The last thing he wanted to do was yell at Dopey. Tough love, sure, that was acceptable, but actual yelling wasn't what he wanted Dopey to hear. He cared about him too much to subject him to that. Some strange working within Doc's brain convinced him that the younger dwarf was just too fragile for that. He needed to be toughened up, sure. Sometimes he needed coddling. A lot of times he really needed the coddling and it was eons since the purple capped dwarf had seen his own mother.

His own family was a mystery. After so many years, one tended to forget things. If you didn't commit them to everyday thoughts, they slipped into smoke and twisted into the air to be carried away on the winds. Some faces and names were remembered, certainly. The bespectacled dwarf would have rather forgotten old lives. He lived with his six brothers now. Blood or not, they were brothers. He loved them each dearly and they were his life. Without them, he didn't know where he'd be.

Waddling throughout the cottage, Doc stood on his toes and opened the window, allowing the sunlight to pour through. It was nice out. Maybe he should just relax and enjoy the morning light for a bit! Sitting back in his chair at the head of the table, he heard a distinct creaking noise. Ah, perhaps it was time to replace the legs. Carpentry work was easily done, but it wasn't something he wanted to do on his day off. He was more fond of the intricate carving work for names or ornate designs. Rising from his seat, an odd memory struck him. The last time he had those tools out was for a more heartbreaking cause. Gritting his teeth, the dwarf abandoned his sunbathing pursuits and made way for the door.

Maybe a walk through the meadows would prove to be more relaxing on his day off.

Hello and welcome to Fantasmic! Thank you for your time and interest in our board, we're so glad you're here!

We're eager to get you approved and into the role play, but before we can do so, we do require a little more information on Doc, specifically what he was doing before the events of the movie. You've mentioned his mother, and the fact that he and his companions travelled around some before settling in their cottage, so how did they all originally meet? Did they immediately hit it off or not? What were Doc's earlier pre-seven years like, and so on. We encourage our members to really flesh out their chosen characters here on Fant, so let your imagination go wild and have fun with it.

And that's it! Once you have made your edits, let us know and we'll be happy to review again and get Doc into the action. :)
